After posting the truth about a few of his employees, the owner Brian, confronted me & basically bullied me into taking down my first review. I always thought the customer was always right. SOME of the male workers do treat their customers with disrespect & tease them with pet names & rudeness. He can run his business however he wants & the owner seemed like a decent man. But freedom of speech is my right & I won't be returning there again.
This place pays less than state line!!! Plus, they wont take rims if the tire is still on them, state line does though! And, to top it all off, there is some lanky, old, alcoholic-looking, blond dude that is incredibly rude, and stupid, two attributes that can be dangerous when expressed in unison……especially in Gaston County.
The lady at the scales is very nice, though.
Anyway, avoid this place, save your time and make more money by driving 2 more miles towards SC on 321, to state line. You wont regret taking this advice, fr.

First of all, I am a business owner and take reviews seriously. I normally don’t post negative reviews unless they are truly deserving. This morning I took some copper wire to Foss in Gastonia. The employee “Bean” at the small scales is a very lazy individual. He had batteries on the scales. Instead of picking them up and moving them. He just kicks them off busting several and splashing acid everywhere. Then he brings at tote to my truck. Tells me “Put all your wire in this tote boss. “ He backs up and stands there with his hands in his pockets. I said can you help me? It’s alot of wire. He just stands there. I told him if he couldn’t help, I would just take it down the street. I told the lady at the big scales about it on my way out. What ol Bean didn’t realize is that my business sells scrap cars here all the time. Not anymore. Customer service is everything!
Took over 2000 lbs of scrap in with a 60 lb bucket of yellow brass only to find out after getting my reciept they gave me irony brass price for clean yellow brass asked the scale operator about it and was told nothing they could do about it, pretty crooked you don't know what your getting paid for til it's too late.
I was going here for a while but I was told there's a place down the road where you can take your stuff as well by a woman employee after she turned me away for trying to help while it was raining by trying to get a fellow man to pull his vehicle up a bit while she was in the booth with the other employee.
They're actually more respectful and have way better attitudes down the road and pay more there might I add.

The level of disrespect I've received from the supervisor and employees from this business in the months coming here is uncanny not just from the staff other customers as well. They're always understaffed so The staff continues to change and the attitudes as well get worse because they're always understaffed.

Not only does this company hold grudges against citizens, I was told a bit of defamation of character was going on with my name and ethnicity as well.
I'm so glad there's other places where I can feel like a customer and not a minority or an animal.
My place to go for all my scrap metal. Very knowledgeable on the materials that you bring. This place treats you like family and will give you tips on breaking down the materials to help get you the most money .
Generally a easy place to turn metal into money but the could do a little better keeping the yard clean, metal piles tend to get a little messy and it makes it hard to unload in such a tight place, not to mention the nails and glass commonly scattered among the drive ways, if you use this place make sure you got good tires and a spare just in case
Very well ran business it has improved a lot over the past few months and it's very well organized and the prices are phenomenal I definitely would recommend this establishment to the next customer!
Called couple times after 8 on Saturday and phone system hung up on me. Was getting ready to leave an unfavorable rating but decided to call once more and a friendly voice picked up and answered my questions. Went buy to sell some scrap metal. Greeted by nice young man and treated well. Unloaded metal and came back around to scales. Greeted there by a different young man, also nice: he knew I was new there and took time to walk me through the efficient automated payment process to receive my cash. Very positive experience. Will recommend to all my friends and associates.
