Have been waiting for over an hour and still waiting. I understand their busy but really an hours or more is ridiculous. Also the employees were so rude and disrespectful to me. I will never return or recommend.
Overall great place. Only problem is the have the dumbest semi truck drivers on planet earth that throw huge tantrums when you are sitting way out of there way but they are to stupid to get around you. Next time I'm not going to be nice that stupid idiot will have to fight me. They better learn to hire truck drivers with cdl instead of homeless clowns they found Ina circus
I love this place but I’m like everyone else I wish they would stay open later and just one Saturday a month but staff is really helpful and nice to people.
Terrible absolute mad house not enoguh room to do anything and busy as hell need a better parking area very displeased with thw guys attitude directing traffic
I went to haul off a load of metal on 10-6-23. Well they were pretty packed when we got there. There was approximately 9 vehicles ahead of us in line. One vehicle move a vehicle length then the next. And it resulted in stop and go of engine of our truck. However while we were in line to unload we ran out of gas. The big boss I call him actually came over to our truck and asked what was wrong... My husband replied it's got to be coil wire or out of gas due to our coil wire was temporarily a fix before we left our house. So anyways the big boss said okay sir I'm going to go get you a jug of gas. Time passed by and then he returned back had a 3 gallon jug of gas and handed it to my husband. Well my husband offered to pay him back for the gas and he refused to take it. He said it wasn't much but I hoped it helps you.... Once I got inside to cash out I again offered the lady at front office if she would hand this money to big boss man and tell him thank you.... The lady replied he want take it so just pay it forward .... Im saying this man went above and beyond to be sure his customers were able to be served and to make a great customer service for his business as well.
I haven't scrapped in years since I've been in my own business fencing , but when I use to scrap i would always drive the extra mile just to deal with leanard because he is a honest man, leanard is the best in business number 1# on the charts !
It's the only place I will take my scrap. I do wish they could find a way to speed up the line. I wish they would extend their hours at least one day a week so people that work regular jobs can make it before they close, or at least open one Saturday a month. I scrap metal on the side for extra income, but sometimes have to set on a load for weeks because of their short hours. I have literally had to take a day off work to get a load off to free up my trailer so I could get another load. They pay top dollar on all metals. Cash on the spot. Mr. Leonard is almost always there and is a really cool guy, and seems to be down to earth. Faithful customer here.
Professional courteous staff owner is present did not hesitate to make a correction that the staff made which would have cost us $280 one of the few places in America that is still based on honest and and fair business

I left the Carolinas 2 years ago but I am coming back just because of businesses like this one. Family owned, operated, financed and built. Closed on the weekend. Online says they are open on Saturday morning but they aren't. Gates were closed. They only cater to people who do scraping for a living. They dont have hours for people who work all week. They had a couple of guys working. They opened the gate and were unloading a car off a rollback for a guy but I was told they are closed. Guess Saturdays are only for certain people. This was May 2nd, 2020 at about 9:15am.
The man that owns it pays more than fair prices and then sells parts at a far better deal than expected to be honest. I will never haul anything anywhere else
Best prices for scrap and cats just plan on waiting they are always Busy but when you have the best prices that’s what happens I will never go anywhere else
I must have hit a peak time as there was a long wait to get through. That said one I got in, the staff was great and I feel like I got a fair price for my metal.
Leonard Salvage near Welcome, NC gives much better prices than most of the big scrap yards and does your offload. They separate and categorize your metals. Just throw what you have on your truck or trailer and go on down. They also do whole cars. Well worth the drive from anywhere around central NC. I used to take my scrap to Winston or Kernersville but was constantly given trouble at the yards for whatever reason. Leonard helps with any issues and gets your scrap turned into money quickly. Be sure to go during regular business hours during the week. If you go on the weekend, expect a wait because this secret is out! Highly recommended.
