great place thats open later then most at this end of the outer banks. good local beers and good food as well. service was fast good and on top of it. we will be going back again for sure.

We had a very pleasant experience at The Wreck this past week. We came out for some live music and outdoor dining. There is no table service on the deck so order inside. Very friendly staff and communication. It started to rain and music was moved inside but we stayed at our table outside because there is some covered seating. We ordered pretzels, quesadillas and the luau sandwich. The pineapple slaw is bomb! The kids also enjoyed the non-alcoholic fancy drinks. Highly recommend! Great little spot- not a huge menu but REALLY delicious options and cool tiki drinks.

Decent food. Decent atmosphere. Customer service? Generally good, but one staff was absolutely terrible. Here’s what happened: We ordered two drinks and lunch, prepaid a 20% tip, and waited for a table to clear. Instead of bringing our drinks to the freshly cleared table, the staff plopped them on the bar. While juggling both drinks off the slippery menu they’d set them on, one slipped —before I’d even had a sip. One bartender immediately began to remake it (basic decency, right?), but another—a younger blonde—intervened and insisted they “had to charge” me because it “wasn’t their fault.” Even other customers in line spoke up, pointing out that I hadn’t even taken a sip of the drink yet. On principle, I refused the replacement drink. Given we were waiting for a ferry I would have happily bought at least two more drinks, but that level of nickel-and-diming killed any chance of that. Pro tip: If you want your customers to come back, don’t humiliate them over a $14 drink they never even tasted. Oh, and FYI mimosas don't come with crushed ice. If you don't know how to make a drink you can always ask or Google. --- Reply to owner: Thank you for the reply and the offer: If you had just made the offer without trying to justify your rude and frankly just inexperienced staff cashier, I would have taken you up on the offer and deleted my review. But here is where you are wrong. If you read my review again (I have not edited anything above the "---"), 1. I did not say it slipped off the menu. I was clear I was juggling the glasses with my hands. It was not attribution of fault I was disputing. It was courtesy, hospitality and service that was lacking. I have been honest in my review of food and atmosphere with 4 stars each. 2. We ate inside. If you review your video again you will see that as soon as I finished ordering I told a polite waitress that I am going to wait to find a table inside since it was very hot outside. And a table had just cleared up before the drinks were put on the bar. 3. Mimosas don't come with ice - anywhere. I wouldn't have cared about it in the absence of the rude service. But you chose to make a distinction between crushed ice and the ice you serve rather than recognize the problem. So, thank you, but no thank you.

Upscale dive bar. Good food and drinks. Great place to pass the time waiting for the ferry or a good lunch close to the beach. Even with a reported 3 hour wait for the ferry to Ocracoke, got seated immediately for a table for 9. At the end of July! But it is small inside so your mileage may vary. Quick attentive service. Not a big food menu but the booze menu is plentiful with specials. Blood Mary is excellent as well as the Grown Up Grilled Cheese. Portions were huge and no complaints from anybody in our party. Recommend for sure

This is a great little bar to sit at while you wait for the ferry.

Had a great experience here when exploring Hatteras! The service, drinks and food were all excellent. My husband and I shared both the Blackbeard’s Nachos and the Buffalo chicken quesadilla, and couldn’t decide which was better because they were both SO good! We also had your basic tiki drinks, including the rum runner, pirates punch and their drink special of the day. Our server was great. We decided to order the deck-friendly drinks after lunch to wander around the pier before visiting the shops. Nice service and overall a great way to spend the afternoon for lunch!

Very good options, amazing variety of drinks (alcoholic and non-alcoholic). Definitely would recommend the taco bowl for anyone with food intolerances. The people were very nice and welcoming. Not a place for a full course, fancy meal; but amazing to spend time with family and just be relaxed!

It was BUSY on a Thursday night, and we waited quite a while, so arriving/ordering early is advised. But the food was fantastic. Our party had a mix...pulled pork, several different types of sandwiches, a salad, and even a hummus plate. All were excellent. The staff, as busy as they were, were also friendly and helpful.

Bbq Sammie is great. Karaoke is outdoors Wednesday. Recommend staying indoors as the sound isolation is excellent. Great spot to see the sunset.

Ordered the taco bowl. It was delicious with a little kick in the dressing. The portion was generous, arrived quickly and staff was friendly Also have hemp-derived beverages.

Delayed ferry finally gave us an opportunity to sit down and spend a little time here at this spot that's a big part of our OBX trips. Normally we're racing in and out with the 'fortified wines' version of their drinks we can ship in the car while waiting in line. Today we're able to sit at the bar and enjoy Painkillers and chips. Staff is fantastic, service is great, and the drinks are almost enough to make up missing Ocracoke today

Trivia night was a family affair with 2 teams of 8 going head to head. Buckets of beer and sitting outside at the marina in the breeze made for a fun filled night. So many laughs and really enjoyed being together!

Dog friendly patio seating, gave us some water for the dog. Nachos were great with a side salsa. Came back later that night for the Cuban.

Awesome party style atmosphere, great welcoming feel to the place, I absolutely love their rum runners, pain killer cocktail, the long island ice tea is spot on, draft beers are great,the view is awesome at sunset, and the bar tenders are a great bunch of folks. This place is awesome to unwind and get your drink on.

Food was eh. Service was awful. My husband ordered a strawberry mojito, got a regular. No big deal he drank it anyway. We got our food and our server grabbed her keys and walked out the door leaving 1 girl to run the whole place. Needless to say we couldn't get any drink refills even though we went there to have a nice time with plenty of cocktails. The sandwiches could have been better with a little more attentiveness (more veggies and sauce). I still left the poor waitress 20% because I could clearly see she was trying her hardest to keep up. Hopefully they get more staff soon, we may try again next year with Hopefully better service.

Small but tasty menu. The smoked tuna dip is a must try and I love the Buffalo Chicken Quesadilla. We come back every year for the view and the atmosphere of this classic Tiki Bar. Definitely a must visit when in Hatteras!

They were so responsive with planning, assisting with coordination of music, provided outstanding service, & had vegetarian and vegan options for us that were delicious! They gave us ways to make our celebration special to us & we appreciate it so much. I wanted to wait to post until I had photos from our photographer, Daniel Pullen. (whom we also loved). Excellent lunch on a rainy afternoon; smoked fish dip is delicious, simple serving plates with tons of flavor and charm, great service & friendly bartender! Cuban panini was crispy on the outside and warm / delicious with every bite! Soft pretzel ? and beer cheese also tasty. Guacamole ? tasted fresh too. Cocktail drinks were done well too, attention to details and service is excellent at this little waterfront Tiki bar/restaurant! We will return ! If you're wandering around the shops at The Hatteras Landing Marina or waiting for a Ferry to come in, stop on by & get a "Beer to Go". We also have a quick meal menu for people in a hurry! ~ ~ ~ If you're staying locally and want a cool place to hang out, grab a bite and cold beer, we're right in the middle of the marina. Or if you're on your way to Ocracoke for the day and just want to stop in and pick up some stuff to go... then please do! See ya at The Wreck!

This is a great little tiki bar. Good drinks, Good food. The crunchy, chewy crunch wraps are addicting. Great place to stop in if you're in the 2,3,4 hr. Line for the ferry. In the week we were in Hatteras, we went there 4 or 5 times. They did close down early twice on us. I would love to see them open for breakfast(bacon and egg crunch wrap maybe) and definitely stay open later.

The coolest bar on Hatteras! The owner, Joel, is amazingly friendly and great for conversation! Absolutely loved our time here! I highly suggest the Kill Devil Mule that is made with local rum… it’s amazing! Great beer selection!

Visited here in April 2022 and again yesterday. Great atmosphere! Panini's are amazing as is the Fish Dip. Good craft beer selection and specialty cocktails.

A cute, casual little place that was quite popular when we stopped by on a weekday afternoon. We had the chicken tacos and a cheese & chicken quesadilla as well as a pink lemonade cocktail to go. All of them were good.

We found ourselves having lunch at The Wreck over by the Hatteras ferry terminal today. We did not end up getting on the ferry but we ended up finding this very charming tiki bar and enjoyed a great lunch. We had the Chicken Tacos, Chicken and cheese quesadilla and a couple of their specialty Panini's. I also had to Kill Devil Mule that included some locally distilled Kill Devil Rum which was very good! This place had a hopping tiki bar atmosphere and we loved it. It's definitely worth the stop if you are waiting for the ferry or if you are just on the island and looking for a place to eat. It's also a great place to hang out and have a drink. They were currently short staffed so they didn't have the service but this didn't affect our experience. We ordered at the bar and took it to our table. There is indoor and outdoor seating.

Very nice restaurant small but with a lot of atmosphere the service was excellent and the food also the portions were good and the server was smiling! Joël the owner was very friendly!

Great Panini Sandwiches! Fun, easygoing atmosphere with both inside and Marina side deck dining. Large beer selection - Bottles, cans and drafts are available. There's wine and spirits too. Prices are very reasonable. Staff are friendly and attentive. Dogs are welcome. This is one of those must visit food establishments on Hatteras Island, and is walking distance from the Rt 12 Ferry Terminal. Stop by, you'll not regret it. FIRST UPDATE! This year (2022) marks our 7th visit to The Wreck. It is one of the "gotta go" places during our annual trip to OBX. We look forward to their Paninis while sitting at the outdoor tables next to the marina. Their beer selection has expanded and includes great craft beers. We usually make two stops here during our visits. Yes, it is that good!

Great little bar with small food menu consists of Hot dogs, paninis, quesadillas and soft pretzels. Basic mixers and beer to drink inside or take to go. Bar area is air conditioned and kid friendly. You can also eat/ drink outside on patio area ( have to go inside to order at bar). Worth the stop.

Great margaritas, decent selection of beer. We are from Asheville area and the Highland Brewing beer mug was pretty cool to find. Had the smoked fish dip and a pretzel with cheez, both were very good. This is not a dress up place whatsoever. Go to relax and enjoy a beach atmosphere. They even had a surf movie on the tv!
