I am taking back my previous bad review. The short explanation is that we had a falling out because of a misunderstanding and a lack of communication. When I went there to see if they could fix a problem with my Jeep, they let me know the owner wanted a face to face conversation beforehand and based on that information we acknowledged the misunderstanding and made peace. A good thing to do since these guys do good work and I now have a Gladiator that needs to be beefed up.
Currently, had issue with excessive wondering on the jeep and had been dealing with this crap for 4 months. Changed a lot of things to try to get it fixed. These guys put in a new steering kit which helped but the big solution was the upgraded sway bar that locked then jeep down when going down the road at 80mph. This thing drives GREAT especially for being on a 4” lift with a roof rack, lights, awning and rooftop tent. I appreciate the motivation shown by the owner to clear up the misunderstanding and I can now express from experience, before leaving pissed off, go back and make sure you have a conversation with the owner so you don’t think he is leaving you hanging because he is eager to resolve any problems that come up. Showed a lot of character and shook my hand like a good man would and I can assure you I will be going back with more business. Thanks for making this one a great experience.
I’m in Birmingham and these guys were great, Jeff was great, he answered the phone right away, he was able to answer all my questions, made sure I was getting the right lift kit for my truck, answered in a split second when I asked about shipping. Highly recommend for any of your trucks needs. 5 star for sure
This is the only place I will bring my vehicles for the rest of my life. As a female, I’ve definitely had some pretty bad experiences but I’ve never experienced that here. Any issues I’ve ever had with my Grand Cherokee, Billy and his team always take the time to listen to my concerns and take them seriously. Any problems found, he takes the time to explain everything to me to make sure I understand. My husband was impressed as well when I came home and was able to throughly and correctly explain whatever work was done on my car. His prices are also very reasonable compared to many of the other places around here.
These people are scammers! Do not buy from them! We ordered tires, and the credit card charge went through that same day. The next day, Performance Off Road sent an email stating that they were canceling the order and that OUR credit card company will not let them refund the money. We called Performance Off Road and were told that they are only a warehouse distributor and can't help us. Stay away from Performance Off Road!
I had my engine replaced with a crate engine. Probably biggest mistake I’ve made when it comes to vehicle repairs. First thing I was told when I picked my Jeep is was that it took so long to finish because “the guy who did the work the first time was a junky and I had to redo it my, but listen how quit that engine is” as I’ve been driving, that is when it’s not in a shop due to numerous wiring issues. I keep finding more and more things that don’t work. My winch, fog lights, halo lights around my headlights, my sway bar disconnect was deleted from my computer. I’m sure there are more things that have been deleted but I haven’t ran across them yet. Aside from the junky story when I picked it up, they told me my headlight was out (it wasn’t attached…) they also ran my negative ground wire over my belt and it was about halfway torn through before I found that issue. How did I find this? My exhaust manifold fell off… most of the bolts were intact but it just fell off, along with the two bolts connecting it to the exhaust.
These guys have done decent work in the past but when they mess up they go big and refuse to fix their mistakes. I’ll include photos of the texts.
If there is anyone else who would like to contact me, I’m working with a veterans legal department in New Hampshire to see options on refunding the around $15,000 spent. Id give an exact amount but look at the invoices and see how easy that is to decipher. In the meantime I’m going to see what is needed to put them on Bragg’s black list to prevent them from repeating this incompetent and deceptive business practice.
Ps. The text where they say “Give me a little bit and I'll get back with you” they have not. Hence my rant.
These guys are awesome! I was having issues with the way my jeep was riding and they worked on it until they found the issue, after going to three different places. I also needed to rotate my tires before a trip to Fl and they stayed late after closing to make sure they could rotate them. Even in the snow and rain! They really took their time to explain everything they found on top of what they could do to fix it. They did not force me to purchase unnecessary parts. Really good people!
Great service my 1999 defender felt like I was driving a bounce house after a consultation/inspection they let me know what I needed to fix everything. Truck feels great now! My truck was pretty rusty but they did a great job getting everything off.
I had an awesome experience at this shop. I got an education as well as an experience. The owner, as well as his team was very professional, and kind. I had gone to 2 different shops and no one was honest with me about not being able to resolve the issue. They showed me step by step my issue and my repair. They also have some equipment that can back their expertise. Thank you guys
Took my truck in and was given great advice on which products to purchase. Came back a few weeks later and they took care of me right away and did exactly what I was wanting. Exceptional customer service and I will be coming back for future upgrades.
I wish I could bring this shop with me everywhere I move. I have been stationed at Fort Bragg twice now and I strictly bring my truck to them when I'm here. Whether it was my lift kit, ring and pinion swaps, speedometer recalibration for 35s, brake jobs, diagnosing problems, or just a good ol fashioned tune-up, these guys know what they're doing.This world would fall apart without honest, hard working blue collar men and I would encourage you to bring your truck to them. First red flag was when the owner Billy/Jeff called me and told me that he had to unplug my smart dash cam since my truck was too new and clean. He compared himself to a doctor being recorded.
I did not mind this at the moment but I would assume that a good trusted shop should not be afraid of being recorded if they guarantee their workmanship.
Second red flag was when I walked into his shop, and there was one of his young workers cursing his head off. He did apologize.
After the two red flags, I still decided to let them do the work because they seemed like they knew what they were doing.
I paid 500+ dollars upfront. After they tried two times to get the right part, they gave up because they do not have that part for my truck.
I get that is not their fault but neither is mine. They claimed that for the effort of trying that I basically will not get a refund.
I was OK with a partial refund since they couldn’t return the part but Billy wanted to charge me an install fee that did not happen plus the part that was not able to be returned.
Till this day I have not been refunded.
Took my vehicle in for a stabilizer and pillar switch install. Friendly customer service and the techs are very professional and do quality work on your offroad vehicle. Very satisfied with the work and feels like I'm driving a whole new vehicle. Only other comment is this place is very popular...plan to drop off for the day. I will definitely be back!

This place does incredible work! I had quite Alot of work done to my truck recently and Jeff up front as well as the owner have been more than accommodating to all of my requests and then some. Everyone there is down to earth and more than willing to go above and beyond to not only get the job done, but satisfy all your vehicle needs. I found out about this place through coworkers. Awesome no nonsense dudes that take their time to do it right. Especially if you have lifted truck and getting "proper" alignment is must have. They mounted, balanced tires, and aligned my truck spot on. I will say again if you have lifted truck make this place your first stop. They have people with years of experience under their belt.
Just picked up my Hilux Surf from the guys at Performance Off Road and I could not be happier with their work. Got an alignment, pan hard correction kit installed, upper ball joints, and wheel bearings. Hardly any shop will work on it due to the truck being imported, but these guys crushed it.
They go the extra mile to make sure everything is done right.
Decently priced, fast, and very professional.
If you have an off road rig take it to them.
Had the opportunity to work with Billy and the Performance Off Road team. Was deciding to get a new truck or make my 2014 Silverado what I wanted and last for years to come. With being in Army and moving around a lot I didn’t know anyone in town. Jeff at the front desk and rest of the team are true professionals and willing to help at all costs. I had a new rough county lift, control arms, and axle shaft all installed as well as rims, tires and the underside cleaned and coated! Could not be happier! I had many discussions with the team there along the way and my truck turned out Amazing!!!

My GMC had a suspension issue that the dealership quoted thousands of dollars to fix. I took it to Performance off road for a second opinion and these guys were super welcoming, very professional, and knowledgeable enough to fix my truck for a tenth of the cost! I will definitely be going back for my other vehicles. Also, I’m military and these guys worked with my schedule and let me drop my truck off after they were closed. HIGHLY recommend this shop.
I recently took my truck to Performance Off Road. I had a vision of what I wanted my truck to look like. I had seen this company for many years but never had a reason to go there. I met Jeff when I first got there and immediately he and I got straight to the planning of what I wanted done. Jeff was extremely professional and approachable. I felt extremely comfortable talking with him about what I wanted done. Jeff made me trust that my truck was at the right place. I met Bill a few days later and he just confirmed and added to my encounter with Jeff. These gentlemen and their employees did an unbelievable job on my truck! So lets start by saying that I went in to the place getting a leveling kit put on my 2022 Toyota Tundra. The kit was put on perfectly and the alignment was done great too. The ride home was just as smooth as when i brought the truck. When picking up my truck, I was talking to Billy about getting new tires on my car and the place around town has balanced them at least 4 times and that still hasn't fixed the problem. Billy invested resources in his new Road Force Match machine and was able to balance all of my tires and even find a bad tire in the process. These guys have went above and beyond for me and I will be going back for any truck/car needs.
Amazing job and took the extra time with the train horns to ensure a perfect install and look. Even fixed the mess with the wires going to the battery prior to me taking it to them. Finally, they even brought my truck back to me. Highly recommend!

Alright let me start by just saying, above and beyond is an understatement for what the gentleman At performance off-road did for me. Long story short, I bought my new truck out in Rocky mount NC. I drove it 2 hours to Fayetteville where I met with a gentleman to put stocks on. The first tire shop that I went to couldn’t help me so they called performance off-road. I showed up to the shop an hour before close. These guys did everything they could to make sure my trip home was safe. Spent 2 hours trying to get my wheels off because I did not have the locking key, they made they’re own and made it happen. Swapped my tires to stocks and filled them up with air, even went as far to put cardboard between my wheels so they wouldn’t get scratched and gave me one of they’re personal Rachel straps. Now I don’t write reviews often but these guys treated me beyond well and I’m not even from here. If I’m ever back and need anything done to my truck they will be my first call! 5 stars
Very disappointed with this group, I called being new to the truck game and told them I just got my truck lifted and needed a tune. Then the gentleman told me they could sell me a tune so I don’t have to drive an hour away to get out on a Dyno it should do the trick. Spent the 898 for it came in quick which was great and I was excited, the tuner doesn’t work due to me having a 2019 Chevy Silverado. My ECM needs to be shipped to the company first to drop in a tune. This info was not disclosed to me. Yes I am new to the truck game and trusted experts to help me that my fault. Me being in the Army I can’t go without my vehicle for extended periods of time so sending the ECM is a hard situation for me. Next time maybe info should be further looked up to ensure I get the right product instead of pushing to possibly making a sell. My business is out there for businesses that want to help. By the way I can’t give it back because I already opened the product which I couldn’t know it was not going to work unless I did that. The product does seem like it would be very beneficial by the way
I had my work completed in March 2018 and waited to write my review to see how well their workmanship held up. I was not disappointed to say the least. I ordered an SVC Offroad bump stop kit and Deaver leaf spring set for the rear as well as front SVC Offroad adjustable perch collars and the guys at Performance Off Road took care of me.
The only reason I did not give five stars is because sometimes it is difficult to get in touch with the guys up front. If you call, they're busy, and they say x person will call you back, I recommend just calling again until you get them so things do not get lost in the jumble.
I worked with Bryan up front and Bryan in the back did the work on my 2017 Ford Raptor (sorry if I misspelled your names). Their invoice price did not change from the quote and they completed the work quickly, even though they had not used the strange perch collars for my vehicle before. They took the extra time to ensure that the front was level, the shocks were recharged with nitrogen, and they even washed the truck for me afterwards.
Six months later and I've hit the rear bump stops multiple times without fail. Great workmanship and I appreciate it!
One thing I noted was that my Ford's lug nuts were chewed up after working with Performance Off Road, but the team rectified the issue and got me a whole set of new ones from a dealership. I do not blame this on them because the acorn-style lug nuts are notoriously bad.
Last comment - my friend also had her Tacoma worked on there with an Icon stage 2 kit (the orange taco in the picture). She has had no problems other than some wheel balancing issues (BFG KO2 E-load tires).
