im very thankful to have such a great place in the Havlock area that buys scrap metal with such great prices and friendly service... oh and now that the bypass is complete, the Foss recycling yard is right off the overpass exit. so i dont have to go through all them slow red lights in town.
These guys are easy to deal with and very knowledgeable. I carried some scrap metal in and they assist with items that I may be uncertain of as far as categorization. Also, they always seem to pay very well comparatively. Thanks!
Foss Recycling's U-Pull lot is my go-to location for parts and assemblies that can't be found at parts stores and dealers. I have bought many parts for many project vehicles here over the last decade, from engine parts and body panels to lamp assemblies to obscure electronics and hard-to-find interior touches.
One of my favorite memories with Foss Recycling was getting my family's old Dodge back on the road after a hard collision. I have since taken that truck on many road trips, for some of which it served as a tow vehicle for my 4x4. This would have been very difficult without Foss, as some of those parts were not available anywhere else. Foss sold me almost half of a car for that project.
The lot is well organized and kept very clean, without hazardous sharp objects left lying around, and even glass shards from broken windows are generally kept to a minimum. I have never been declined assistance when requesting the locations of particular makes, models, and years, so it seems that the database is maintained meticulously. The staff is always friendly and quick to give instructions when needed, has repeatedly expressed appreciation for my business, and is more than happy to see me whenever I come by. Fortunately, the parts I've purchased here are of good enough function that I haven't needed to come by much recently, but when an other project finds its way into my hands, Foss will be my first pick... and pull.
Place is pretty minty just like pick and pull grab your own parts find those one off hoses mirror glass because otherwise your stuck with a 200 dollar assembly it's a great place love it
Closed early turn need people away who spent their hard earn need money for gas to drive 25 minutes to get there. Those purple had to spend money two times to get there. Not right!!
Although I didn’t purchase anything, the attendant working the cashier’s window was very helpful and although she was already sure from memory that she didn’t have the vehicle/part I needed, she still confirmed in their system.
I’ve been going to foss for over 13 years and for the majority of the time I’ve had the pleasure of being assisted by the friendliest office staff. She has always taken the extra time to assist me and is extraordinarily knowledgeable about her job. As a disabled veteran I appreciate all the work put into inventory and knowing what year and models have interchangeable parts saving me time and money. Going above and beyond her job description she has integrated events like the Easter egg hunt to not only show appreciation to her customers but to add a little fun and excitement to pulling parts. What has become lost in most big business is the in person customer experience is most important. For instance I’ve often waited in line to to speak with an associate at other businesses to be asked to hold while they answer the phone. I find that to be rude and it never happens at Foss. She has always greeted me with a smile and extended every courtesy to me regardless of how rude some people treat her. She has never lost her baring and works hard to deescalate heated conversation from honorary customers. Thank you for everything you do for our community. Foss would not be the same without you.
Been going to the Jacksonville pick and pull for along time always find what I’m looking for and more sometimes.. place is organized and easy to navigate love doing business with yall .. but today I had a different experience with the new lady at the shop was very rude didn’t even bother to inspect parts that was trying to purchased and was not knowledgeable at all and seemed to be more interested in her dunking doughnuts delivery and snacking than doing her job and wasn’t just me 2 other patrons who came out after me had something to say as well while I was still loading my belongings in the truck ..never experienced this one bit here .. was very surprised because usually it’s very pleasant and easy going but felt like to me that she was over pricing everything like she was making commission or putting something extra in her personal pockets ..idk .. almost make me rethinking about coming back to this location and taking the extra hour ride to Goldsboro… but other than that menace working the counter the yard is tip top shape and always rearranging to make it easier for customers.. 01/13/25
We go to Foss off lake Rd the little old guy that works the claw, is amazing about twice a week we go with a truck and trailer full off Appliances. He is so sweet and friendly and can work that machine like a pro. Never a scratch or dent on our stuff. He amazes us how he does it. He deserves a RAISE for sure....
This location is far the best location your company has due to Mrs Denise her knowledge and kindness and patients with her customers so outstanding each time we visit I hope you guys know how lucky you are to have all this in one person especially in this world today I truly appreciate your help and your smile

I conduct business with Foss quite frequently. In fact I’d say almost more than most people. Denise is by far the most professional and courteous person I have dealt with out of all the frequent places I go. Even on a bad day, she is still polite and friendly. Which is more than I can say about myself lol.

I was at there Wilson location today 7-16-22. While there the lady and the gentleman weighing you in changed the battery price per pound. Be careful of those 2 they are verh sneaky and always check your receipt. They tried to short me 160.00 and when I asked her about it she made all kinds of excuses.
Good junkyard selection, best prices around, the cashier is nice enough, but good luck getting her to take your money if you catch her during a phone call, won’t even take a single dollar from you just for entry, you have to wait for her to finish that phone call, you and your money aren’t the priority bud, try handing her a buck to get in and she’ll just tell you to wait with her hand without even glancing at you, whoever is on the other end of the line for business or pleasure is more important than you, your cash and whatever schedule you might be on. And their hours say they’re open till 4:30 but you best arrive well before 4 since according to her she won’t let anyone in after 4 and closes her window at 4:15, never mind the posted business hours, I’m guessing maybe she owns and runs the place that way or something. Not very professional but if she owns the place that’s up to her.
Great place with tons of variety of vehicle parts ! Common specialty parts u need to check daily for the care get picked over fast. Prices are very reasonable compared to other salvage yards! They do include a 30 day warranty on all parts ! Great staff also
Little put out today. No where on Google listing does it say lunch is 12-1230. Plus I showed up at 11:50 and when I asked the lady in the building about the gate being closed before noon as the gate says she just shrugged and said they were unloading the last one before lunch and gave the impression I would either have to wait or come back. I would have planned to come at a different time if I knew about the lunch as it was a slow 30 minutes trip with this particular load. Please update the Google page. I tried the webpage but it wouldn't load, to see if the lunch break was posted there. So, I'm waiting it out and hoping 12:30 isn't misrepresented as well.
I got there 5 minutes before their lunch time and they still let me in. Very easy, they weighed my vehicle with the load of metal. I emptied the metal per their instructions then weighed my car again. Gave me a ticket which I took inside and a machine paid me for what I brought. Then I paid $1. To go into the I pull it lot to look for smaller metal easier to work with. Easy!
Went to find a new hood for my car. I tried to call 3 times and no one answered. I went there and greeted the lady at the front desk and she was extremely rude. Tried to sell a part for a different year of my car swearing it would work. Went to the back and found that the hood was broken and not worth the time or effort. I will never go there again; from now on i’m going to Atlantic Auto Parts in Newport!
I have been several times to sell scrap. The guy at the scales is always friendly, even when there's a line of vehicles in both direction. I always have a cooler of cold water and drinks in my truck. I always offer a cold drink. Thanks for the great customer service.
The system for finding the cars is excellent and I have usually found the parts of the car that I was looking for. The reason I give 2 stars is because the customer service was rather poor. I have been here many times and the lady at the front desk always has an attitude.
