do not buy... we have had multiple issues , 3 bad engines and all were picked up byt matlock. have made multiple attempts for refund. get the run around if we get anyone on the phone. reached out to owner, accounting etc. this will be turned over to legal at this point.

This place looks like it should be awesome from the outside. The metal sculpture art is cool, the place looks clean and organized. However, I have to echo many reviews here, customer service lacks. I travelled from out of town after paying for a bumper assy the week prior, specifically asking about the reinforcement being included at time of purchase. I was told yes and the assy was already pulled and ready to go. Unfortunately after we arrived, they discovered the reinforcement was not pulled from the truck and included with the cover on the shelf, and the truck had been crushed. Where things went wrong was how it was handled from there. They couldn't get one in for several days, and I wasn't driving back out 2.5 hours one way to get it. They stated their cost was about $160, So I suggested they refund that amount. They offered $100...excuse me? If it cost you $160, why would I find $100 acceptable? Unfortunately it has been a struggle to find the bumper assembly/cover in good shape, so I was already familiar with the prices. After some back and forth they gave me the $160, now hopefully I can find one close to that amount. Tl:Dr, confirmed part was complete over phone, arrived and it wasn't, had to haggle to get price fairly adjusted.

bad information i was told I would get a transmission in 3 days . It took another 4 days when I asked for a discount for my inconvenience I got a big runaround very unprofessional

Love doing business with Matlocks. Spillman is awesome to work with, has great communication and quality parts. Recently bought a 2011 Ford E250 Van transmission with only 18k on it and I was so happy with how clean it came!

I bought a used engine from this dealer about a month ago under the label " ran good " no issues. For nearly $3,000 After being quoted an additional $2,500 just for the replacement labor, I found out that this engine has a blown head gasket, it needed a new thermostat and a new water pump. I was told they only warranty the block and heads and used engines are " as-is " I would consider all your options if you're needing a replacement engine. Make sure you go with a shop who actually check what they sell and are willing to stand by what it.

I bought a 1500 ram engine, I know it's not a new engine, it's with almost all the main parts, broken, I call the company and no one Answers the call, and when they Answer they mistreated me, saying, if I wanted a new engine that I was supposed to buy at a dealer, very little cause with the customer, I don't recommend buying with these people 0 professionalism, I had 3 options to buy, but I chose the worst, because after they receive your money they will treat you like garbage, I paid $3,424 and I wasn't respected I just don't give zero stars because there is no such an option

Bought a transmission in mid 2024, they picked up the old one for the core. I never got my core charge refunded after calling and emailing multiple times. I eventually gave up. Finally in February 2025 I get a text saying they are going to refund the amount.. now in April 2025 i get another text saying the refund has failed. I’ve ordered many times from these people and every time there has been some kind of hassle or inconvenience. Not worth it.

Right part, delivered on time. Best price on car-part and showed up clean/undamaged. Bumped to the top of our parts supplier list. Thank you! -HSB Auto Brokers Update: it's been months and that part still works perfectly. Every part I've gotten from them since has been the same result. Works perfectly and for a long time. They don't sell parts they think are at risk of failing. It's that simple. See you guys next week for a long list of parts. Thank you all again. What a valuable resource this company has become for my dealership

I ordered a radiator support apparently it was gonna take 4 to 5 business days it’s been almost a month and I haven’t get my part I called last Thursday and Friday they told me to come Monday pick it up I called Monday and they say they haven’t ordered it and apparently to get my refund back I have to wait 30 days

2 transmissions over 2k in labor they sent both transactions that do not work. I asked for help with labor they're excuse is you didn't buy labor warranty. Truck been in the shop over 3 months. Sales guy seems to always been out of office. Don't screw yourself. Don't buy from them.

Called today about a fender in the same color fender but the bottom half is a different color from factory and I was going to figure that part out another time. But being a great guy that he is he looked up another used auto parts place having the exact fender I needed. He could have just made the sale and made money but he pointed me in the right direction to where I don't need to do any body or paint work! And I really appreciate that!

Buyers beware! This place does NOT stand behind broken parts sold. Was first told to get quote to replace- did my part and sent 2 quotes. Only to be told- nevermind this isn't covered. Horrible customer service.

I've been doing business with Jeff Matlock and Kenneth at Matlock's Used Parts for decades. I can't speak highly enough for these folks and their great service. Do yourself a favor and call them first for all of your parts needs and ask for Kenneth! I can highly recommend!

If you enjoy broken, damaged or wrong parts you can count on the team at Matlocks to get it wrong for you every time. If you run a shop and need discontinued parts or something to fix a vehicle that is back ordered I’d suggest you seek out a different Venue to purchase from. The 3 star rating should tell you everything you should expect.

I DO NOT RECOMMEND THEM, be careful, I bought a transmission and then went the next day to pick it up and the transmission casing was breaking, I couldn't pick it up because they were supposed to give me another transmission, they called saying that the difference in the transmission is $1,180 and I had already given $1,790. What is the warranty they say they give and 6 months? I paid in cash and they don't want to give me the cash, only a check, it's been a week and my check hasn't arrived

Wanted to buy a bumper, wing and headlight. Paid and asked if I could pick it up today, they said ok. I drove 3 and a half hours from Georgia to pick up the parts. 40 minutes before arriving they wrote to me that the bumper was damaged and they could give me a different color (and I specifically went for a white bumper and they assured me that it was in excellent condition). Upon arrival they told me that they had not even started removing the parts from the car and they would hardly have time to do it today. As a result, 8 hours were wasted (including the on-site investigation), a tank of gas and a ruined mood

I originally called and talked to Mitchell on Tuesday around 11 am. We discussed the part I needed and I was able to provide the specific stock number. He emailed photos of the incorrect part. I called back that afternoon to be sure he was looking for the correct part. There was no answer. I emailed back with photos of the desired part at 1 pm that day and asked if he could take a look for that specific part when he had time. He replied 26 hours later that he would look into and get back to me stating he was "busy busy." That was 2 days ago. This morning, I called and spoke with Kenneth. When I described the part I needed, he immediately said none were available. He did not take the time to search/type in anything. Mitchell had shared that they have items shipped in from various locations so there is no way Kenneth has memorized all the parts available. This entire customer service experience is absurd. Either they are not interested in making money or the business is a cover for another operation that IS making money. To be honest, one star is generous. The only good thing I can say is that Mitchell was polite.

I purchased a hybrid battery for my Toyota Prius from this place over two months ago. Are used to deal with them all the time and I would walk in the front office. There would be a gentleman standing there helping customers. I walked into there and found out they no longer have that employee or even that position.. The process they have now as you pretty much drive your vehicle around to ramp and then the laborers which pick your parts will come get your ticket grab your part and send you on your way in this case I had a core which was a $400 core charge. I had it at the time of picking up the new battery and there was nobody there that could help me get a refund and I was directed that they would process it and I would have it in 7 to 10 days. At this point, I’ve called six times and had conversations in order to get my money repeatedly. Tell me they will process it and say it’s done and when I call in the next time, somebody else tells me that they will do it it hasn’t been done.. Long story short from a legitimate business finding to steal peoples hard and money without giving them an option to talk to a person that can hold him accountable. If you want this place to try to get over you and steal your core money then I would recommend using them. I don’t have $400 and I will be taking the next steps and getting my money but will not be contacting Matlocks again.

Disgusting service. You can’t even think that everything is bad. Everything around is clean and beautiful.. It’s impossible to buy anything on this company’s website (and it’s good that it didn’t work out... previous reviews are just a nightmare!!) When you arrive at their address, you won’t be able to buy anything either because you can ONLY PICK UP there (time wasted on the road). The 2 telephone numbers that the woman in the office provided were NO ANSWER, YOU CAN'T GET A CALL!!!! I agree with previous reviews DON'T WASTE TIME, RUN...it's better to look in better places than this

They sent me 3 bad engines in a row .. 1 with rod knock , 2 with dead cylinder no compression. now won’t answer the phone .. just want my money back and return them. Wasted 2 weeks of my life and ton of $ to still have a customer broken vehicle. Will be making a trip up there to hopefully resolve this .. feel like i got scammed. Wouldn’t reccomend. Edit: no refund .. won’t answer the phone or return calls. Drove 2 hours in person said they would email me about getting a check refund mailed and nothing. Don’t waste your time with this place. My brother ordered parts for a car for my father who is 94 years old. The company debited my dad's card for the money, never sent an order #, never gave any detailed information on picking up parts and never showed any courtesy to a customer purchasing their products. They quit answering calls from my brother and my son who had driven nearly 3 hrs to pick up purchased parts from this salvage business. I had to call from my phone to connect with Phil to talk with him about the order. He told me he would call me back yet he never returned the call as he said he would. These people are slack. They take people's payments but don't give customers the courtesy of proper communication, or accurate information for expectations of picking up items purchased. Bad business practices all around. Very dissatisfied.

This is the worst company I have ever dealt with. Do not ever go to them. Order a part at 8 o'clock yesterday morning. Drove all the way from Columbia, South Carolina to Charlotte, North Carolina. And Was never pulled. They could have said that it takes more than a day to pull the parts. Charge my credit card. They could have told me it would take more than a day or 2 to get the parts. Pulled that I should wait till Monday or Tuesday to come. Then that will be OK. But they do not ever respon I did not even get a work order number for the parts until I got there.

Terrible service. Tried to order a used engine from these folks for a customer. They wanted me to wire transfer (who does that?) the money to them - wouldn't accept a credit card. Spent a full day trying to buy something from them. Couldn't get accounting on the phone, or the managers. Finally got so frustrated that I cancelled the order - I would rather pay more somewhere else than deal with this headache.

Called to order a fender. The salesman didn’t order what I asked for. He ordered one that he thought was more fitting as he claimed it had zero damage, but was more expensive. After a week of waiting for it to come in, I was shocked to find it had heavy damage. It had multiple dents and dings that were noticeable to the eye. I did get a partial refund, so I guess it’s not all bad. Paint match was 100%

These guys waited until I had purchased and paid in full. Then they sent me photos different than what was online, and indicated that the airbag doesn't come with the wheel and it was the first time that it was mentioned even with a long phone conversation. These guys don't seem legitimate.

I got the part that I needed for a fair price. The sales attendant was very polite and helpful. That is where the positivity ends. After confirming that my parts were ready for pickup, I arrived at the store. The office is closed to the public. I called to let them know that I had arrived and was told it would be a couple minutes. Another party was there, trying to figure out what was wrong, because they'd already been waiting for 15 minutes, despite being told their parts were also ready. 10 minutes later, an employee comes out of the building, and the other people try to ask about their parts. He rudely replies "not my department" so they tried to ask for whoever WAS in charge and the employee replies "I don't have sit here and listen to your smart mouth!!!" And he even got up in the customer's face; ready to fight. He probably had 100 lbs on the customer, so I stepped over to help deescalate the situation, which meant letting the employee know that his response lacked any sort of professionalism, and that I had the other guy's back. The employee turned and stormed back inside. Shortly after, the other party was called back to say their parts were NOT ready, and someone else brought my part to me. I don't know what kind of system they got running there. They're using COVID excuses to neglect customer service, and running employees who should not be representing their business in any way, shape or form. Do better.

My grandfather used to own a garage called Killian's service center matlock's in the highest regards as a 5-star company because they are always very eager to help their customers... I have never walked out empty handed or disappointed.....because they do everything they can to provide excellent customer service thanks guys we appreciate ppl that genuinely care about their customers... This is the car they found everything we needed for and looks almost new again
