Avoid Cordell’s Towing in Candler at all costs!
I scheduled a pickup and confirmed I’d arrive in an hour. After driving 2 hours to get there, I called to verify the address because the vehicle wasn’t visible. The man answered rudely, asked why I was calling, and refused to give me the correct address, telling me to “call my dispatcher” instead. A neighbor confirmed I was at the correct location. I even saw the man step out, look directly at me, and go back inside.
I called again and he hung up on me multiple times, cursed at me, and flat-out refused to help, likely trying to delay pickup to charge extra storage fees. This behavior is dishonest, unprofessional, and possibly illegal. The property looks more like a junkyard than a business, reeks of manure, and the customer service is the worst I’ve ever experienced.
If you value your time, money, and sanity, do NOT use Cordell’s Towing. There are plenty of reputable towing companies that don’t treat customers like garbage. What happened to me was unacceptable and I hope this review warns others before they go through the same nightmare.
This company helped me out when I was in a bind. I'm in Connecticut and needed a truck removed in Candler, NC. They took it same-day. Terry was informative and so friendly!
As a native Ashevillean (so is Cordell’s), I’ve done business with them and referred several customers as well. Never a bad experience always responsive. Everybody’s got a bad story about waiting a long time for a tow truck but not with Cordell’s I would refer them wholeheartedly
I just simply needed my vehicle towed from my house to Ab-Tech and when they answered the phone they were very rude. I don’t know much about this stuff and was simply just looking for a quote but definitely won’t be using them to tow my truck. I don’t trust them with the truck if they aren’t going to be nice on the phone!
Excellent Fast Service! I was broke down & stranded in a parking lot in Waynesville. Chambers Auto who are amazing gave me this number. I called Terry & he eased my mind that he would be to me in about an hour. It was 15 degrees outside!! Terry got to me in less than that! I was so grateful for him coming to me so fast. I was worried & cold but he had me laughing with jokes as he was hooking up my car to be towed. Great guy!! Everything was fast & easy. He was so nice n kind. I would highly recommend this company. Thank You so much for the wonderful experiance in taking care of me. I plan to let everyone know. I appreciate you so much! God bless you!
Worst tow experience ever. I requested a tow through GoodSams travel assistance. I was told it would take 2.5 hours for a driver to arrive. The truck driver was 40 min late beyond the scheduled time and did not call to update the arrival time. When asked about the delay, his response was you scheduled though an auto club and you don't get preferential treatment. The tow was only 4 miles but was a little scary to follow as the truck was almost off the rollback. Once at the mechanic the drive left the truck in an adjacent lot with the keys in the ignition and to doors unlocked. I happened to catch him as he was driving away. He again told me that I was not his customer as I called in through a Auto Club and he began to tell me how he did not like to work with auto clubs and for that mater did not like me. When I called into the main office to complain I was confronted with a similar experience. The person on the other end of the line also said I was not their customer as the call for the tow came from the auto club. When I questioned this he stated, " you must be an (expletive) millennial because you don't know how these things work." I am a 50+ year old business owner who does know how it works. I called GoodSams and lodged a full formal complaint against this company. I am sharing my experience here so others will also know that this company should not be used ever.
Terry is the most awesome tow truck driver I’ve ever had the pleasure of meeting!! He was prompt courteous and above all professiona!! He even didn’t charge us that much for what we needed!! Thanks Terry, the McFarlands appreciate your time to help us and our neighbors!
HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE! My mother in law broke down, called on star and Verizon assistance. They sent these people out and the guy REFUSED to let my MIL ride along with her car to where she was going, which was to her house! He gave her the option of taking the car and leaving her or leaving her and the car. Mind you it's 85+ degrees outside, her car isn't running she is 60 yrs old, just had a heart attack a few months back and severely diabetic! I finally got to her 3 or so hours later and my husband is now waiting on a new wrecker! The BBC will be called in the AM!
They answered our call promptly , the receptionist was polite and quite helpful , she took extra detail to get the right directions to our car and they picked it up promptly with out delay. The driver was polite courteous and friendly. 10 out of 10 I would recommend to others.
So rude.. hung up on me.. hung up on my Roadside Assistance Customer Service Rep.. called me yelling, I had to ask 4 times who was calling me before he told me.. he acted like he was pissed from the beginning.. not sure why.. I ended up cancelling, b/c he was so angry sounding.. Thought it was just me until I read all the reviews..
Predatory towing service. Towing people's cars while they are I side eating at the establishment that owns the lot. Must be giving them kick backs. Nasty human.
Horrible service, he towed my daughter's car and threatened to not release it. He has a terrible drawl and it was difficult to understand him over the phone. I asked him to repeat his address and he became impatient and condescending. Absolutely avoid this guy. Business is very shady, basically just a gated lot. Doubt he is even a legitimate wrecker.
2.6 Stars doesn't even come close negative 2.6 this a****** that answer the phone didn't even get his name told me that he knows his s*** in only running flatbeds couldn't help me to call somebody else he was rude and I asked him to never breed a kind like him this world could be better off without a human being like him on this planet total lowlife trailer trash tow company
This guy is a total piece of ....! Not only did he cuss my Mother who had simple called to see where he was, he left awful voice mails on her house phone. I did call to see what his issue was, He answered "Yea" I asked "Is this Cordell's Towing?" He replied "yea who the F@#k is this?" "I replied good now that i know i have the right person..." the conversation went downhill fast. it was as if i was talking to a back woods meth head who had no idea how conduct himself in the real world. Please do not use this Wrecker Service it is only a matter of time before he does something awful to someone. If he hasn't already.
These people are totally dependable. They are careful, prompt and polite no matter the weather or situation. They service my small family fleet. They come when called and deliver as to your instructions. I can call, tell them where to find it, where to drop it, pay by phone and never have to leave my home. Couldn't ask for more.
I called Roadside Assistance w/ Nationwide and this is the company they connected me with. When I called to confirm that their arrival time would be an hour and a half (that way I could notify my place of employment how late I would be), the individual I spoke with was rude, which caused me to feel as though it was an inconvenience that he would have to provide me with this service.
Since my G35 Coupe is RWD, I checked to ensure that they would be towing my car on a flatbed truck. This "inconvenience" added an additional 30 minute extension to their arrival time.
I called back my Roadside, explained the situation, requested that they cancel the work order (which they did), and placed a new work order with a company that was grateful for the business opportunity.
Learn how to provide quality customer service, and treat the person you are serving with respect, Cordell's. There are way too many other places providing towing services.
Absolutely awesome. I was told by my roadside assistance that WINCHING me out of a DITCH was NOT covered by my roadside assistance (ridiculous, right?). So Terry was able to write it up as a tow due to a flat, which I am able to get reimbursed for. And he was wonderful, even despite the rain. AND it cost much less than I was quoted by my roadside assistance! I'm keeping his card on me, that's for sure!
