I needed a new battery for my car and couldn't turn it off after my friend gave me a jump. He suggested I go to Womble Automotive. The mechanic there was clear and accurate in his communications. He ordered the battery, it was delivered, he installed it, I paid, and I was off and running again all within 30 to 40 minutes. I'm new to the area, and I have now found my new auto repair shop!

Mixed feelings about this repair shop… I’ve brought several cars here and have been pleased with my previous experiences until this last time. My fiancée was on her way to the airport when the CEL came on and the car went into limp mode on the interstate. Had it towed to Womble and told me the codes that were popping up, which had to do with the vvt solenoids (4) that the car has. They said they recommend to replace all 4 which will cost $1400 and if that doesn’t fix it then I’m looking at spending 3-4k on a new timing kit. So they install the solenoids and tell me to come pick it up… 2 miles down the road the CEL pops back on, so I tell my fiancée to bring the car back. They say “Well we really don’t know what’s going on let’s clear the code again and see how it does and if the light comes back on bring it back next week”….. uhhh ok? So before we can get the car back home, guess what? Boom. Light is back. (Shocker) and on top of that the oil pressure is reading low. With about 15 minutes of research I find that some people have had the same problem and the culprit is the oil filter collapsing. So I take the oil cap assembly off and the shaft that supports the filter has broke and is causing the oil filter to collapse on itself, which was causing the solenoids to not get enough oil pressure in turn triggering the light. A trip to the auto parts store and new oil filter and cap assembly later the car is running phenomenal. I never needed the solenoids… I’m just glad I was able to fix it and I didn’t give them 4k for a new timing kit which wouldn’t had solved anything. $1400 down the drain.

Womble automotive was wonderful. I have a great classic car that needed some tlc and womble identified the problem and had her up and ready to go home in a few hours! Great service, friendly, conscientious folks. So glad I found them.

This was my second time bringing my 2015 Jeep Wrangler to the guys at Womble, and they exceeded expectations on all fronts. The first visit was for a cracked radiator two days before Christmas break (I’m a college student who drives to and from Maryland), and they had me back on the road in two days. My most recent visit was for a tune-up. I dropped the car off Friday and had it back by Monday. The owner is extremely responsive, detailed, and runs an honest shop. Highly recommend for Elon Students in need of a reliable shop!

I was in need of an overall mechanical assessment of my 2003 Ford F-150. I spoke with the guys at Womble about bringing it in. The appointment was made in no time at all. The result of the assessment determined that it was definitely time for a complete brake job. Scheduled the work, dropped it off in the AM and picked it up in the PM. Brakes feel like new! Very pleased with the work and communications. Will be scheduling soon for the next round of repairs with Womble. Feels really good to have a local shop that can be trusted. Thanks guys for the customer support.

(2024) Beyond thankful for Womble Automotive! They took care of my Jeep TJ quickly, all while explaining the manifold issues(s) and made the repairs in a timely fashion. Grateful to have my Jeep back and to have found a TRUSTED auto shop! (2025) Returning customer 😀 Womble came to the rescue again in making the necessary repairs promptly! Power steering gearbox replacement, new head gasket, and full tune-up. They truly care about the work they do and customers satisfaction!

My college-aged daughter who was in NC for school brought her CRV in because the Check Engine Light and a couple other indicator lights were on. She called to tell me that Womble ran a diagnosis and recommended an oil change AND replacement of three parts related to the solenoid. They said this is a common problem with CRVs. My research suggested that issues with these parts could lead to engine knocking, reduced acceleration, reduced fuel efficiency, rough idling, etc. She was experiencing none of those, and that was conveyed to Womble. My research also suggested that solenoid issues are rare in CRVs, and solenoids can often last the life of the vehicle. I called my mechanic in Pittsburgh, and he said if the oil was low or contaminated, it could trigger the indicator lights, and he would start there before throwing three new parts at the problem. We had Womble do the oil change, but they also charged us over $150 for a diagnosis fee. It’s been almost three weeks now, and my daughter has since driven the car 14 hours round-trip with no engine issues, and the indicator lights have not returned. I called Womble to request a refund on the diagnosis fee, which I believed to be unnecessary and excessive since a simple oil change fixed the problem. The owner told me he had documented that my daughter said the engine was making noise, but I have a documented text exchange with her from that day (attached below) where she specifically said there was no noise and that, other than the warning lights, the car seemed normal. Then the mechanic who worked on the car told me they "inferred a solenoid noise" based on what they were seeing (How in the world can one infer a noise?? It's either there or it isn't). When I asked for a refund on the diagnosis fee, I was told that they pay tens of thousands of dollars on diagnostic equipment, so they can’t work for free, and that slavery has been illegal since the ‘60s (an ignorant, ill-informed comment that I found highly offensive). The mechanic said I was not remembering our original conversation correctly, but he remembers our WHITE CRV clearly (the car is actually silver). I had my daughter choose this business because they generally had positive reviews online, but I feel she and I were taken advantage of. It is my opinion, and the opinion of my personal mechanic, that they could have determined in just a few minutes that the oil needed to be changed and recommended that we start there rather than incurring additional diagnostic fees. Read the other 1-star reviews. Seems I'm not alone.

Womble Automative was amazing. I had an emergency where my radiator broke on my way to Charlotte. They answered the phone and told me to come in right away. They were able to get the job done in under 2 hours. They let me watch them work and showed me what was the cause and what they had done to fix it. Fast, affordable and professional.

Making an online appointment was very easy. Once I got there, Jeff Womble took my car in the service bay and began changing the oil and then the inspection. I have been coming to Jeff’s since he opened his shop. I will not take my car anywhere else.

The only good thing I can say about my experience was they were willing to have me bring my car in quickly. Charged me 190 diagnostic fee to tell me I have one hose leaking on my car and they refused to repair it without me paying $1600 to have the thermostat and 5 other hoses that are not leaking replaced. In comparisson, last time I had a hose leaking the shop I went to fixed it for less than $200. This kind of behavior is why people dont trust mechanics.

I have sent my 2012 Ford Focus to Jeff Womble several years now. Each time, he has provided fast, reliable service. Today I called at 8:00am with a complaint of smelling burnt motor oil. He said to bring my car on over and by lunchtime he had diagnosed the problem (bad valve cover gasket), called me to let me know the issue and replaced the gasket! Thanks again Jeff for your fast, professional service!

I needed a mechanic after moving from Cary to Gibsonville. After asking around and doing research I decided to try Womble Automotive. Best decision I ever made. Honest and professional with competitive pricing. After getting my oil changed I discussed that my a/c had just quit working. After looking at the system with an ultra violet light and seeing no signs of a leak, Jeff suggested vacuuming the system and recharging it with Freon with a leak detector. He gave me a price up front and it worked. And I will definitely be a repeat customer. Great work great prices and best of all honest and upfront.

Took my 2014 Kia Soul in because it was stalling out and not getting any power to it. They were quick and efficient! Got my car in good working order in a couple days, and also kept me up to date. They are so honest and fair priced. I always take my car to them first because I know they will shoot me straight. Appreciate their work so much!

The power steering on our Jeep was leaking. Womble Automotive was recommended to me by a mechanic. That is a good sign. Service was fast, affordable and done in a friendly and professional manner. I highly recommend Jeff and Womble Automotive to you.

Excellent work at a reasonable price. They stand by their work and are not afraid to tell you to get a second estimate if you have trust issues with mechanics as many folks do. I have been going to Womble automotive since they opened and, although it is never been said, it feels like they follow the golden rule of treating others the way they would want to be treated. I have referred male and female friends there, and none of them have come away with anything but satisfaction as to how they were treated in the work that was done. a couple of those people have become regular customers as well.

Jeff is an absolute gem. Right after moving to the area a year ago, my car decided to essentially break down on me. I ended up needing to have all four heater hoses replaced, and Jeff could not have been more kind or empathetic to my situation. He was incredibly patient in answering all my questions, very professional with his communication about what needed to be done to my car and for how much, and overall a pleasure to work with. As someone who admittedly does not know much about cars, I felt completely at ease in working with him. It is amazing to have a car professional that you trust and don't have to dread going to either for major or routine work! My husband and I are huge fans.

Went to get an oil change and the place refused to change the oil, basically said you need a new car. Found Jeff on google he is very down to earth and made you feel comfortable upon arriving at his shop. He went over the issue (oil was leaking, but it was a switch, replaced it) did the oil change, fixed my brake light and went over some issues that my 2005 Equinox may be on its last run. He was honest, fast and fair. He has gained a new customer today!!

I've been going to Womble since he opened shop, and I have nothing but praise. Jeff is incredibly hard working, and puts customers like me who know next to nothing about cars at ease. Perhaps most importantly, he is trustworthy. He has earned my respect and most certainly my business, and I cannot recommend him enough.

On my way to work, I noticed that the battery light started to flash every few seconds. I knew that it had something to do with the alternator, which can mean big trouble if not looked at right away. So I checked Yelp to see where the closest mechanic shop was and Womble Automotive caught my eye quick with the 5 star ratings and high reviews. Their reputation definitely proceeds them. Jeff and Ernie were very hospitable and professional in every way. It turned out that my alternator did go bad and they had me in and out in about an hour. They are no nonsense mechanics that will tell you exactly what the problem is and also quite affordable. I definitely highly recommend and will definitely go back. Jeff, who is the owner, has 25years+ experience and really knows his stuff and it shows. Ernie is a highly skilled professional as well. Probably the best experience I’ve ever had dealing with vehicle mechanics.

Literally the best service I’ve ever received going to a car place. I don’t know much about cars, but Jeff took the time to show me what was wrong with my car and answer all questions I had and never once made me feel silly for asking them. He was so kind and reasonably priced. I took my car in on a Friday for him to look at, and he was on the phone immediately ordering the part I needed and had me bring my car in on Monday (today) and had it fixed by lunchtime. Yes, it was a small part but it’s those above and beyond gestures that have made me a customer for life. You won’t be disappointed going here, trust me!
