First impressions are very good. Don’t want to start off bashing another place but I will. I came from Croton Yacht Club. I bought a sailboat there and figured just do necessary critical work there. Needing some assistance with lowering the mast which set me back over a month due to lack of communication and service. List goes on with disappointments. I decided to cut my losses and leave after paying for the season. I decided to give Viking Boat Yard a try. Now cue in the rainbows, unicorns and heavenly music. I towed my boat into the yard, they helped raise my mast, trav-lift my boat into the water, allowed the time for me to check the thru-hulls for leaks, towed me to my slip. All in short time seemingly with little effort. Literally held my hand through everything. Not cheap but straight forward pricing and professional knowledgeable service. Docks are nice, peaceful setting, cool neighbors, quite vibe without being a lonely place. Good bathrooms/showers, shaded pavilion overlooking the slips, unexpected nice spot on the Hudson River….I’ve been at Half Moon Bay Marina a couple seasons and hold that location as the top spot for sunsets and the widest part of the Hudson. However, Viking Boat yard offers excellent protection from the main channel with deeper water offering more aquatic life and clearer water…and then you still get the same wide bay to sail …with the sunsets. My standards and expectations are high. So far, Viking Boat Yard has met them. Happy boater.
Very large boatyard with a lot of organize docking space, drydocking facilities, haul out facilities, easy access to and from the dock as there is a main road that passes Infront of the location. They provided inhouse service works for vessels or the boat owners can bring in their own service people once they provide proof of insurance to work in the yard. The dock is located in a very safe cove area has a very nice scenic view
This a family own/operated boatyard, great people, great place to keep your boat, and really helpful as well. I would have my boat there anytime if I was to go back to the area. Excellent 👍👍👍
