Rather than tell stories about the car mechanics I tried and didn't like, I'll say what I DID like about Performance Plus in Tuckahoe. Rob, John and Marco were all friendly and helpful, a good disposition. Along the way, John explained what he thought was wrong and how he was going to try fixing it. Then when I picked it up he explained in greater detail, answering all my questions, even the annoying ones. And the problem was fixed.
What I came away with is that they know their work, they like their work, and they want to make people happy by doing a good job. I cannot think of a greater compliment. Thanks guys!
I have a 2000' chevy conversion van that was sitting in my parents driveway for 4 years. I finally decided to use it because I needed a large vehicle to move out of my apartment. I put it in reverse and the brakes immediately sank to the floor (while the car was moving). The van barreled into a nearby tree and the branches smashed through my rear window. Turns out my brake lines had rusted out. Almost junked it after that, had I not found John at performance plus. AAA towed it to his shop and I had my car back in 3 days, so I was actually still able to use the van for my move. Brakes have since held up with no issues I cannot say enough good things! Price was incredibly reasonable. (BTW I found about Performance plus via a recommendation on reddit)
