Have maintained a successful relationship with Fred's for many many years if it ain't broke don't fix it - no reason to change from a trusted relationship. Recently asked Fred's to check out my 2012 Civic with over 200K, service my 2017 Highlander with over 170K miles and we keep on truck'n!

Amazing service. Awesome people explained everything completely and the prices are the best in town. They do all of our vehicles for the company.

Fred's Auto is a terrific mechanic shop where the employees genuinely care about their work, maintaining the vehicles and their customer's concerns. I have been taking my Cadillac to them for the last few years and they have always accommodated me in the most inconvenient circumstances. They check in with their customers constantly during and after service is complete as well. In addition, they are transparent about cost and expectations. The quality of the work is second to none. As important, maybe even more so, is their ability to work with folks like us who are in financial hardship. And, a spotless bathroom, cleaner than 90% of the restaurants I’ve frequented in northern Westchester.

It’s the only shop that I’ll trust to fix my car. They’re talented and their prices are fair. Their waiting area is really clean and comfortable. Highly recommend.

Called and made an appointment for an oil change week in advance, what should’ve been a quick oil change, they took almost an hour and 15 minutes to complete. They took my car in 30 or so minutes after my appointment time. Whats the point of having an appointment? This also wasn’t the first time. My first time here was prompt, then the 2 visits after it occurred back to back, disappointed. Secondly, they mentioned my battery was weak and asked if I wanted to replace it. I said I’d look into it, drove straight to autozone, they tested the battery to be 100% working. Long wait time for an appointment along with being incorrect in their diagnosis has made me not return as a customer. Per owner response: submitting anonymously as I don’t want to be contacted.

Came in with wiper jets that weren’t working, rendering out windshield impossible to see through. We worried we were stuck. Nope—they diagnosed the problem immediately, fixed it quickly, and didn’t even charge us! Best service I’ve ever had at any car repair shop. Thanks so much!

I brought my car in for inspection. There was a. hardy to find wiring issue. Bill and the boys at Fred's stuck it out and got me back on the road. The problem took 2 visits to completely fix. They followed thru and tackled the problem. Bill also gave me a free wash and detail for the problem taking a second visit. It was completely over the top. They do right by me all the time and I highly recommend them.

Great experience here, needed a fuse as my heat had gone and they took me same day and got the repair done, in and out same day. I also asked them to check my battery terminals and they let me know that I could use them but they’d recommend replacing. Not at all pushy, did exactly what I asked of them and called me to let me decide what I wanted to do. I ended up replacing them and they still got everything done, fuse and terminal replacement, in under 4 hours. Very quick and honest service, great pricing, and a very polite staff. 12/10 will be returning here.

A great neighborhood small business we should all know and support. Our entire family goes there. They keep you informed of the on-goings in your car without being pushy. Especially enjoyed working with Joe (front desk)— pleasant, communicative, hard-working young man.

My car started making a clicking sound while in drive if it was stopped. A few people stopped me and gave me very expensive possibilities of what could be the problem. I brought my car to Bill and Joe and his team. Even though they were solidly booked for two days they fit me in because I needed to have the car working. It turns out that it was a heat shield and nothing major. While there I had an oil change and filter changes and now I am good to go for a while. There are many things I like about this shop. Everyone who works here is pleasant and helpful and very importantly the mechanics are excellent and try to save the customer money rather than spend more than necessary. My husband started coming here when they first opened and now I have become a loyal customer as well.

Extremely and honest professional staff. I called in to enquire how much would it cost to change transmission fluid on my wives vehicle. I spoke with Mike he broke down to me the labor cost and how much the final price was. On the day I took in my car he called me again to let me know everything went well. I'll be coming back.

My 2017 Subaru needed a small part. Subaru wanted $$$$. I happen to ask Fred’s if they can get it and how much. Not only did they get it. They charged practically nothing for it and DID NOT charge for putting it on. FYI. Subaru wanted to charge for installation!!! Fred’s the best.

First and last experience with them I took my car in the morning to change the tires and brakes. And when I went to get my car at the end of the afternoon. I ordered my old tires that were half-life old. And they told me. Which they no longer had. That Someone came by to pick it up? That's hard to believe? Even though the tires were mine, they couldn't throw them away or do anything different. Very poorly professional, my family and I will definitely not be returning.

Oil change/tire rotation: I called and got a same day appointment, which was great! They changed my oil and rotated my tires. Additionally, they made a recommendation for some work that needs to be done on my next visit. Very helpful, as usual.

Great experience! I had a broken strut and the staff at Fred’s took great care of me: drove me home after I dropped off my car, called me after diagnostics with cost estimates for replacements and rechecked the alignment to be safe, prepared documents for my insurance and even dropped my car back off since some staff members were going this way. We started using Fred's a few years ago for our small company fleet, and we have been extremely happy with them. Mike has always been very accommodating, squeezing us in and getting us out as fast as possible. They even installed catalytic converter shields that we had purchased onto our work vans.

Fred's auto Repair is the type of auto repair shop everyone deserves. They are honest, professional and work in a very timely fashion. Plus their car wash and detailing is amazing. We service all of our vehicles there and always recommend them to our friends and family.

I had new tires installed from Tire Rack at this location. The tires arrived around noon and they were able to get me back out the door including an alignment diagnostic, correction and install of the new tires before 3PM if not earlier. Unfortunately I noted damage on my vehicle, but the team on site was very patient and accommodating regarding reviewing footage with me. They proactively reached out the following morning and allocated time to review on site footage. We discovered that this damage occurred prior to bringing my vehicle on site. Kudos to the team on their patience and quick install. I offered to buy the team lunch for the inconvenience but they declined. Fully stocked with coffee, free wi-fi, and chargers available for iPhone and USB.

Fred’s Auto Repair in Shrub Oak is by far the most honest, professional repair shop. They have worked on my Mazda Miata and have successfully repaired all issues in a timely manner with constant communication and explanation of all issues. Won’t go anywhere else!

I pulled into Fred’s because one of my tires was leaking. Mike Serafini was sooo incredibly helpful that I decided to ditch the dealership and bring the car back to him for a regular oil change service. He also altered me that my tires were bald & I needed a new set. He got the right tires, mounted installed & aligned, did the oil change & inspection. They did an EXCELLENT job, AND they worked with me to drive me home and deliver the car to my home when the work was done! SUPERLATIVE customer service matters! I’d definitely recommend the team at Fred’s!
