The company began as an Esso gas station in Saugerties in 1958 with my dad and grandfather. My grandfather used to repair radiators and my dad took care of the repair and gas end of the business. Several gas stations later, we moved to a two car garage at our current location in Saugerties, NY. We have since built the auto and truck repair shop we are in today with the help of the third and fourth generation. The family atmosphere we have fostered allows us to make a connection with you. The feeling that our customers are not just a number keeps them coming back.

Make sure that you are very clear about the locations. Either the receptionist or the tow driver have comprehension is sure. $150tow turned into $200 because the driver went to the wrong location.
I made appointment for check engine light then had break line go so had towed there first $1000 to fix the $2000 almost 7weekslater done then over $3000 pd driving home tire light on half way home engine light back on sent with full tank gas get with quarter tank get to put $50 in gas n all tires like 25 in air n still check enylight on they either fix or calling lawyer please any one else hit me up
Came to my rescue at 430am and helped me out of a big jam. Huge props to the folks at Steyer’s. Pro tip…GPS will take you down impassable roads at times. Trust your gut and back out before you get stuck like I did.
Scam! AAA called for a tow but they refused a tow job saying they aren't accepting AAA till tomorrow. Yet they were informed by AAA I had an accident. The officer then called for a tow. Even though they accept AAA they refused my membership, saying an officer called in the accident (even though he called 1.5 hours after AAA). Talk about a bait and switch, knowing they would get the job being nearby and they could then have an emergency fee added. When they got there they charged us $405 for less than a 10 mile tow. PURE EVIL!
Quick emergency response. Driver call call answered on the first ring. I locked my keys in my work truck and the driver had no issue ballooning the door gently and fishing for the lock I would definitely recommend because this happened at 6 AM before business hours and I was on the road able to get to my first appointment on time
This is a local, medium sized, 2nd generation family owned and operated business. They service everything from my Prius to huge dump trucks to tractor trailers to RVs in their high bay shop. One of the few tow operators approved to tow vehicles, of any size, off the NYS Thruway (I87). They will come 24/7 via AAA or your call. I've been using them for years and I can say, unequivocally, their work is consistently excellent. The mechanic servicing your vehicle will come into the waiting room and explain what the problems is, what you must fix right now and what can wait for a while. Small modest waiting room, tiny, clean WC, no cappuccino machine here but daughter stephanie (scheduling, parts ordering, books) will give you a cup of strong coffee, if you ask nicely, while brother Stephan runs the shop.
They will screw you over if they get the chance. Thousands of dollars for a simple wench out. This is the worst I have ever seen. The owner is awful. Stay away
They did an excellent job I'm putting my tires and I was there for inspection and I noticed the brakes were down so they called and let me know if it needs new brakes and they did that job a good place to go to get your car fixed
Couldn't be happier with Steyer's. Had to have my car towed to the technician that works on it. It was a distance of about 25 miles. The price was completely reasonable and the service was perfect. Taken with the kindness and willingness to help of the person who answered the phone and it doesn't get much better than what Steyer's did for me.

DO NOT BY A TIRE HERE. THAY WILL SCREW YOU OVER. The price on tire says 329, thay charges me 448. Plus other fees. Came to 557.10 no if you are a trucker you are asking yourself how did thay come up with another $228. Dont go save your money.
Great service all around! Everyone at steyers was friendly, professional and communicative. Their tow truck was prompt and professional. The office staff was friendly and kept me updated through out the job and the mechanics did a top notch job. Support your local family owned businesses! These guys (and gals) are the real deal!

I can not say enough good things about Joe and his son and everyone else here. They are honest, go above and beyond, and have done that several times for my family, my son in particular who just purchased his first jeep and has needed some help with it. I will not go anywhere else, ever. This kind of business doesn't seem to exist anymore, but they're doing it.
I could go on for hours about this place, has proven trustworthy and has gone WAY above and beyond for myself, family, friends.... They deserve the business, one of the few repair/tow shops left that's 100% honest and will work with you on bills, scheduling...

They were nice but I asked to have my car taken to a certain place and they took back there there garage with out discussing it with me. They told me after this when I tracked my truck down that from accident that they always take it there or I had to pay upfront. Which insurance company was coving the tow. If they would of discussed this with me at the scene a lot of headaches could of been avoided.
They charged me $180.00 for an oil change and tire rotation. Van Kleeks in Lake Katrine charged me $41.00 for the exact same service. The woman at the front desk was not very nice to me either. I'll never go there again. Van Kleeks has my business for life.
I purchased my car battery here over two years ago and just came in to have them check it. Still at 100% and they cleaned it up , all for free! Then they fit me in for a repair on something else quickly, despite being down a mechanic. The staff is always friendly and helpful, which is another plus.
