We have purchased 3 vehicles from Mann's Auto and been very happy with all of our vehicles. 2 of the vehicles that we purchased were Subaru Bajas, which are small trucks with a "cult following" that can be difficult to find because they have not been manufactured since 2006. Mann's have stood behind their vehicles even beyond their warranty and have a competent garage to make necessary repairs. They took the time to identify and correct a sporadic issue, which can be the hardest kind to diagnose. I recommend Mann's Auto without reservation to anyone who is looking for a reliable Subaru from a reputable dealer. They rock!

We have been working with Mann’s for years, over 15 years. My wife and I always appreciate their honesty, forthrightness, thriftiness, and precision. I trust their expertise, and have been greatly satisfied with the repair work as well as the cats I have purchased from Mann’s. Got my kids cars from Mann’s.

Nightmare repair process with my car. The original transmission was failing, so I took it in to have it replaced. It took four tries before a working transmission was installed. Splitting and inspecting the transmission before installation instead of blindly putting it in would have saved everyone a lot of time and money. The first replacement transmission failed after just 50 miles, during a road trip to Maryland the day before Thanksgiving. I had to leave the car stranded and spend over $250 on last-minute bus tickets. When I brought the car back to the shop, I insisted the transmission had differential issues, but the shop argued with me and raised their voice at me over the phone, and sent me away saying the car was fine. The car broke down the next time I drove it, on my way to the airport, nearly making me miss an $800 flight. Back at the shop, they replaced a driveshaft that didn’t fix the issue before finally admitting the differential was bad. It then took several more transmission swaps before the current one (still with minor issues) was finally installed. What upset me most was being charged labor for replacing the used transmission that failed. The whole ordeal dragged on for over three months, leaving me without a car and forcing me to absorb hundreds of dollars in extra expenses. Not everything was the shop’s fault, the transmission supplier was clearly sketchy, but ultimately it’s their responsibility to work with reliable providers. In the end, both the mechanic and I were screwed, but I’m the one who had to deal with the constant hassle, stress and inconvenience of this mess. Edit: I appreciate the response, but several claims are inaccurate. No rush does not mean take months on my car. I had several two week deadlines for when I needed the car by and they were not met. The car was my only vehicle at the time, and I repeatedly called for updates because it was taking months. When I brought the car back after the first failure, I clearly told you and your staff it was a differential issue, providing video evidence and also informing you that the transmission had no oil on the dipstick when it broke down. When I took it in after the other transmissions failed, I had clear video evidence as well. I agreed to replacing the driveshaft because I was told it was the problem not as additional service. The u-joint was worn and had not failed. You charged labor for replacing a defective used transmission that never worked properly. Legally, the cost should not have been passed on to me. Covering part of an extended warranty (which by the way was only for that first transmission not the fourth so my money went to waste there) does not offset being without a working car for over three months and paying out of pocket for transport because of repeated misdiagnoses and defective installations. The supplier’s quality control is your responsibility, not the customer’s. If it weren’t for me going back to grad school, I would have sued you for violating GBL 396-q and 349

I have been using Mann’s Auto since I bought my first Subaru almost ten years ago. My family is a Subie family so finding a local mechanic that specializes in them was a win/win! I cannot say enough wonderful things about this passionate family. They are kind, friendly, and amazing mechanics. I’ve taken every issue there and it has been solved every time. I know it’s a daunting task getting car work done as a woman but they have always been upfront, honest, and transparent about every detail when something goes wrong. I can’t tell you how much I appreciate that. I’ve been jerked around by too many people in the past and I will never take my Subarus anywhere else. I plan to run this one as long as I can and purchase another when needed and feel so grateful to have found this mechanic to be a life long customer at. FOR THE WOMEN: They are so kind and have taken me back in the shop many times to show me exactly what they are talking about and explain why something needs to be done. There is never any jerking you around, only compassion about certain things that should be taken care of for your safety. I whole heartedly trust them.

Mann’s Subaru is WAAAAAYYYYYY out in the stix… but they are absolutely well worth the inconvenience!!! Pleasant, competent, fast, trustworthy, and cheap. They have it all!!!! (except the location…) Highly recommend for any Subaru that needs a little extra TLC. They are the Mann for you!!!

This family owned business operates with the highest integrity and quality of service. I recently needed a lot of work done on my 06 Outback, Mann's was incredibly helpful in identifying necessary repairs and getting my vehicle back on the road and inspected. They worked with me in getting good prices on parts and they value safety as their number one priority. They are the local Subaru specialist of 30+ years for a reason and everyone from this area knows they are extremely trustworthy. If you have a Subaru in the FLX, this is the place for you.

I misdiagnosed a problem and brought my car in to have a part replaced. They quickly identified my mistake and patiently explained it to me, saving me considerable time and expense (at the cost of mild embarrassment), when they could easily have just done the requested work. I greatly appreciate their honesty and competence!

Just getting to know Mark and Co. based on some strong recommendations from friends. Extremely impressed so far. Mark and everyone have been really nice, very responsive, knowledgeable and super friendly. That's on top of being incredibly generous with their sales pricing and commitment to their customers. Highly recommend.

I had a wonderful experience with this shop. I had a long-standing problem with my 2014 Subaru Crosstrek and could not get it resolved by my usual mechanic, despite multiple visits and significant investment. A friend recommended a second opinion at Mann’s. They found the source of the problem, which was not straightforward, and performed the repair. I’m no longer embarrassed when I’ve drive my car.

This place is hands down the best place to bring your Subaru in the area. I was able to get my car in within one business day for a check in before a trip. They ended up taking the time to fix my car up completely and even help with some fixes not even related to the initial call.

We moved to Ithaca and started looking for a Subaru. It snows a lot here even in March (as seen in the picture) so wanted to have a all wheel drive. In Ithaca, all dealers had very limited inventory with really high prices and we couldn't find anything on Craigslist either. Then, I found Mann's Auto online. They are a little bit in the middle of nowhere but it was worth to visit. First of all, they are super friendly. And they just do Subaru's. They sold us a 2009 Outback in top condition for a private party price (and yes, they are a dealer). I would recommend them to everyone who has a tight budget and high expectation from their cars. You will not be disappointed.

Best garage in the Ithaca area. Worth having a Subaru. Friendly, helpful, honest, reasonable labor rates, plenty of second-hand parts to keep your old Subie running, and can often work you in on short notice and give free, well-reasoned advice. Can't say enough about Mann's. It's in the middle of nowhere, but worth the trip if you can make it.
