Yay I found a quick, honest, trustworthy, professional and friendly auto service place! Just did a emissions test (which they did not try to rip me off on like another place I almost went with) but while waiting I saw the way they treated their customers and would come back for future needs.
After a month-long saga of trying to get a different auto shop to figure out the issues that had arisen in the wake of work they'd done, a friend recommended going to Hunt's, and that's a suggestion I should have looked for sooner. Not only was the team able to find an issue where the prior shop couldn't, but they showed me the parts involved in the issue and explained what was going on, even finding a defect with one of my brake pads in the process that the other shop either didn't notice or didn't think was an issue. The technician working on my car made use of downtime while waiting for parts to do some extra minor work to fix the issue with the brake pad, and after being plagued with awful grinding and rattling for a month, Hunt's finally found and resolved the issues and gave me a sense of relief I thought would only come with a hefty price tag...but the price they asked for was extremely reasonable.
Personable, knowledgeable, and skilled folks who will do you right, and will talk with you the whole way. I'll definitely be returning for routine maintenance in the future.
My family has been serviced by Hunts for several as residents of Ellis Hollow. Every interaction with customer service I have found helpful, consistent, and smooth. The quality and care of Hunt's service is without a doubt worth the price, and a community staple ;)
Hunt's has always been good to me for all the years I've gone to them whether it's the Ithaca location or now the more recent slaterville location they help me with what I need help with they suggest things that I made need to be aware of at a later date and I've never had any problems with anything they fixed for me I just really like going there they're hard-working honest people and I really I'm really glad I go to them for any repairs I need on my vehicle
My family was coming from NC and are truck broke down. I called Hunt's and they made time to see what was wrong with it but unfortunately I didn't have the extra money to get it towed. My family was able to get back home to NC safety but we had to leave the truck in NY. Thank you for going out of your way to make sure if we were coming.
There's a reason they are busy! Honest and fair pricing, always leave satisfied and never upsold. I'm very picky about who touches my vehicles and I am very comfortable leaving them with Hunts. They are not just part changers, they'll find what actually needs replacing/repair and inform you on other issues they may find without trying to gain more work. Thanks guys.
Late on a Friday afternoon, I drove in from out of town, my car was making a very loud noise. I stopped in just before closing, Rory was nice enough to take a quick look, we both felt it may be the AC compressor, but Rory said he could not be sure without further testing. He was fully booked on the following Monday, but would do his best to help me out. I was only in town until Tuesday, and was able to drop my car over the weekend with a note to Rory. He analyzed first thing Monday, determined it was not the AC compressor, but the alternator, and was able to get the part and replaced it for me Monday. They could have very easily taken advantage of me, being out of town, and needing the car. The price was very fair, excellent service, and went above and beyond to get me on the road. I cant say enough good about this team of guys, great to work with. I highly recommend Hunts in Slaterville.
I highly recommend Hunt’s Auto Service. If u live out toward Brooktondale or Slaterville, it is a perfect location for your car maintenance needs. The staff is friendly and they make you feel like your getting a personal service from people that care about your car and it’s safety. I know other people that use them and have always had good experiences. I would recommend Hunts for a basic Oil/Filter change or any other service your car may require. Call for an appt and they will get you in right away.
I had a few positive experiences here but just got raked over the coals. Hunt's quoted $250 to install a wiring harness for a trailer - a $50 part and about twenty minutes worth of labor. Also $750 for fixing a stuck e-brake. The latter seems excessive, the former is just simply dishonest. I left with no work done whatsoever and was charged a $75 "diagnostic fee." Price gouging is gross. Find somewhere else to take your vehicle.
