Great Family Shabbos at Catskill Mountain Resort We had a wonderful family stay at Catskill Mountain Resort for Shabbos. The rooms were spotless and well-maintained, which made our stay comfortable and stress-free. Even though it rained over Shabbos there was more than enough indoor space for the kids to play and enjoy themselves— we didn’t even notice the weather! The grounds were beautiful and added to the peaceful atmosphere, making it a perfect place for our extended family. Overall, it was a fantastic experience, and we look forward to returning in the future!

I originally had a booking via booking.com. I received several alarming messages advising me to cancel my reservation, with some very unhinged remarks. Upon cancellation, I looked to Airbnb for another place to book in the area. I came across a listing that had the exact same photos that were on their booking.com listing. I emailed the host on Airbnb who assured me that the booking was legit. Tried to contact the host several times with no response. Upon canceling my reservation due to no response for the host, we were contacted by two people who claimed to be working at the resort. They offered a discounted rate if we paid a deposit outside of the app. They requested $200 via zelle to a personal bank account. After sending the money and being assured that we had a reservation, the employee stopped answering phone calls and messages. When we requested a refund, she was incredibly rude, made up excuses, and refused to return the deposit and then blocked our phone number. I wonder how many other people were scammed by these disgruntled employees looking to pocket some quick money and run. Do not book this resort.

CALL BEFORE YOU TRAVEL/ARRIVE THERE. We booked this through our credit card rewards, which basically using an Expedia type of platform, for one night in July. We arrived to a resort that looked recently abandoned. The pool was drained, restaurant was closed, and lobby locked. Someone finally came around after about 10 minutes to explain that things have been "changing" and that no amenities would be open, but we could still stay for a room if we paid in cash. We did not. This spoiled our travel plans and we could not book anywhere else nearby for less than $400 a night. No mention on their website about being closed and no calls were made to use from the resort prior to our arrival. It was an awful experience and if they come back open and are operational, I would not consider staying there.

We booked this hotel In April for 2 nts.and was notified by email mail 2 days before our stay that basically said we have no pool no staff, amenities or restaurant. They left a # to call and the person said owners are selling properties and there is hardly any furniture in rooms.||Person on phone was very nice and offered us the room for $100. ||We chose not to stay AND had a hard time getting a cancelation confirmation with hotels.com. stand your ground and get one||Luckily we got a room somewhere else.

Made a reservation on 4/17/22 for a one-night stay 6/25/22. Arrived to check in at 7pm and the entire place was deserted. Door to check-in building/restaurant was unlocked but all lights off and no one to be found. Could see stuff laying on the counters in the kitchen. A refrigerator upstairs in the hallway had alcohol in it. Bar liquor was just out on the shelves in the lobby. Pool was empty. Called the number, no answer. Walked all around looking for someone. Finally, some random person gets in their vehicle so we stopped him, hoping he was an employee. Nope, a “guest” who was staying for some private “party”. Seemed super sketchy. So, finally realizing we were out of luck after driving half an hour out of our way to stay in this beautiful resort, we connected to the Wi-Fi so we could search for other places to stay, most of which were sold out. After an hour standing outside the check-in building, we FINALLY found somewhere to stay…all the way in Monticello. Just as we finally got a reservation elsewhere, two other ladies show up who were also staying with a private “party”. Said she was calling the person who worked here (apparently not on the business number since no one answered it when we tried calling multiple times). Asked if we would like to wait for her to arrive. Ummm, no. I left negative feedback on the survey through the booking site and this is the reply we got: “Apologies. However We are not yet closed. We have one employee taking care of the Front desk and the grounds. Perhaps you came early and they were out mowing the grass or some other activity and did not expect you." Unacceptable. I see there’s not much activity on this page so I’ll be writing this review elsewhere too but just in case someone is still trying to book this place, be warned.

Wanted to check out the Resorts Casino in the Catskills and googled log cabins nearby and came across this hidden gem!!! Was about 40 minutes away from the casino. We were enjoying our stay here so much that we ended up not even going to the casino on the day we had planned to! There are 3 different sections to this resort- the log cabins (there are 2 cabins that are attached to each other, each cabin is for 2 people (king size bed, tv, refrigerator, coffee maker, yes bathroom is in the room! ). Then there are the cabins for larger groups located next door. There is another section of the resort with rooms that look like motel rooms from outdoors, and then there is the main building (where you check in, and where the bar and restaurant are located), and that main building has rooms upstairs. That building felt like an Inn, I’m sure the rooms were beautiful! Our room in the cabin had a comfortable bed, was clean, etc. everything is provided in the cabins (I had called to make sure we didn’t need to bring our own sheets, towels etc- no you do not need to!). Had soap, shampoo, hair dryer etc like a regular hotel room. Cabin had heat and AC. We had dinner at the restaurant located in the main building. Entree prices range from maybe $17-25, included soup or salad. Food was very good! Restaurant was still crowded later on when we went! I believe food is served until 9:30pm. Zac’s lounge was closed while we were here, however the lobby bar was open, not sure until what time. Piano player in lobby was not here while we were here, I do know that he was there though the weekend prior, and will be the weekend after, not sure how often he is normally there. Continental breakfast is included for all guests, served until 11am. Staff was very nice, helpful, and accommodating. Gave us an early check in and a late check out for no charge! 12pm-1pm check in they said was fine, and a 1pm check out was fine too. It was explained to us that this was because no one else was arriving on this date for the cabin room- worked well for us! Hotel gives discounted skiing / tubing tickets for a nearby resort in Pennsylvania- Big Bear. We did not get to do this but it is nice that they give it. Hotel has fire pits (you can make s’mores- bring the marshmallows!). Hotel provides the wood. We didn’t do this but the staff was happy to have started the fire for us if we wanted to. We came in the winter so did not get to use the pool (or see it) but from other reviews it sounds lovely. We were happy to get the log cabin experience at a resort. WiFi is free and worked well. I had cell service with Verizon, my boyfriend has T-Mobile and he did not at all. Resort is very quiet and, peaceful. Nice weekend getaway and a nice change of scene. Perfect place to come and relax! Enjoy!

Attended a wedding here this past weekend, and was very impressed. Despite the fact that there were 200 people in attendance, the staff was able to adequately serve and attend to each guest. It was all coordinated and managed very well by William. I was so impressed with his management style and level of service, that I am considering having my own destination wedding at this location. The grounds of the resort and the rooms within are very aesthetically pleasing and beautifully maintained. The food was amazing and plentiful. Zac's lounge has a great atmosphere to grab a drink and hang out. There are several tv's behind the bar had on all of the relevant sporting events (football) throughout my stay. Though the resort is located in a small town, William and his staff exceeded expectations in accommodating a large number of guests with the highest caliber of customer service. As a side note: I noticed a reviewer said they had a problem with the internet. I was able to connect and use the internet without issue.

The staff was friendly and very attentive. It is more of a bnb minus the breakfast or a mediocre hotel.||||The walls are paper thin in the main house. When they had a piano player in the lobby area it was so loud in our room we had difficulty hearing our TV, and we couldn't even just relax. When we went down to the dining area it was even louder. Instead of having the piano music complimenting the dining experience it gave my husband and I a headache. The worse part was he played until well after 9pm so we tried to seek refuge away from the building despite the fact we just wanted to retire early.

It was our 2nd time at this location & we had a nice relaxing time. Our 2 bedroom accommodation was nice since it had a living room & kitchen (no stove). The staff were nice sweet!||||The resort restaurant food is delicious but can be costly (we ate there once a day) so we drove a few minutes away to a nearby location for 2 of our 3 meals per day since the food area by the bar was closed (we didn’t find out till we got there). But in the previous year the food was very good & reasonable.||||Last year we did rafting & nearby they have a small zip line & things to make s’mores since they have an outdoor area to make it & an area to play volleyball. Otherwise it’s a nice place to lay low!

Rooms we had (several rooms with multiple family members) weren’t clean. Musty, dirty carpets, dirty quilts. Buffet breakfast was barely edible. Very noisy after 11pm at night with an unattended front-desk so no one to deal with the situation. The rooms need scrubbing, washed bedding at a minimum. Renovations would be better. I would not stay here again or recommend it to anyone

We were attending a concert on 7/5/19 in Bethel Woods, NY. I was looking for a place roughly 30 minutes away. In this area, there isn't much mid-range places to stay. I decided to stay here to try it out after reading many reviews. Here is my view of our stay and the facility. They state that the facility was completely redone in 2018. It certainly looks it. All of the buildings were clearly redone. Our room was fresh. The bathroom was new and very nicely done. They have a very large pool with outdoor tiki bar. We didn't use the bar as I purchased food locally and we brought our own drinks. People were ordering food and drinks at the pool. Everyone seemed very happy with the service and the quality of the food. Other people specifically said that the dinners were excellent as well. The breakfast was buffet for $15 per person. We didn't try it as we don't like big breakfasts or buffets. They have nice courtyard with a gazebo and 2 gas fire pits. All of the grounds and pool were well maintained. Very nice. The staff was friendly and provided great service. There were limited rooms when we booked and we booked a room with 2 double beds. As I mention the room was fresh and clean. I will say the layout had something to be desired. I can't image 4 people in the room as there was barely enough room to walk around as the beds filled the room. In my opinion, there should have been only 1 bed (queen) and there should have been a chair and or desk in the room. There was also not the normal stand for you to set your suitcase on. Fortunately we didn't need the other bed as it was only the 2 of us. Not sure how 4 people could stay in the room with luggage etc. We did feel cramped just the 2 of us. They only provided Styrofoam and plastic cups. I would expect glass in this price range. Our last day when we were leaving, both my wife and I ran out of Hot water while in the shower. It didn't get ice cold, but it was a cool shower. Again, this is a basic so it didn't meet my expectations. As I said, in this area, there isn't a lot of mid-range places. In this price range I would expect more and really wouldn't consider this a "resort".

This place was wonderful. The staff was so accommodating and our room was a little small, but very comfortable. We ate dinner and breakfast on site, both were delicious. They also offer shuttle service to Bethel Woods for concerts and events for a small fee. Top notch experience from start to finish.

Upscale dining without the price. I've paid much more for a less quality of food elsewhere. CMR hit it out of the ballpark. For starters, the bread is incredible. Everything was served timely and fresh - hot off the stove! Everything tasted very fresh.
Boyfriend ordered the all you can eat wings available on Wednesdays- what an awesome deal. Made just right.
I had a clam special - which was incredible. The seafood was incredibly fresh.
The service was great, everyone was kind and attentive - seemed genuinely happy to be there. In fact, my boyfriend brought me out to dinner after having a not so great day at work and the atmosphere of this place immediately made me forget my bad day.
Unlike chain restaurants, you don't feel like you're being shooed out the door. We were able to sit, relax, enjoy some wine and enjoy each other.
The staff was so welcoming, even turned the light on to their new banquet hall so I could take a peek. Had a lovely chat with the general manager, Andrew. We walked around the grounds, which are incredibly well-kept.
What an awesome concept this place is and it's right around the corner.

This is a terrific budget-friendly, kid-friendly alternative to the new hipster Catskills hotels with 2-night minimums, 2-person room maximums, and overpriced, pretentious restaurants. It's also the most convenient to NYC and points south.||||This resort has it all: Clean, well-equipped rooms; a charming main house with an elegant, well-priced restaurant and attractive bar; parking; friendly, helpful staff; and a pretty location in the woods with a spacious lawn, picnic tables and bench swings (there's even a swimming pool). ||||We stayed on a Saturday and ate at the restaurant - delicious, and very affordable. The live music was so lively, patrons and staff all ended up dancing, singing, playing the spoons and generally having a ball. Best part: No drive back to the hotel room!

My husband and I just returned from our weekend at the Catskill Mountain Resort. This is one of the most wonderful resorts we have been to. Very friendly and helpful staff, they know what you want before you do! Will, Andy and Millie are welcoming and can’t do enough for their guest. The chef is brilliant, the meals are presented in a professional and eye appealing way. Not only was every thing we ate delicious, but we couldn’t believe the portions, it was amazing. Saturday night had entertainment and there was also a gentleman selling the loveliest jewelry that I have ever seen. We were fortunate to have stayed in a cabin. The rooms are immaculate and very comfortable. The women at the front desk were very helpful printing out information on local sites and shopping. I will recommend this resort to all my friends, they made us feel like family. Hope to return to visit our new friends. Thank you all for a fabulous weekend!!

I was recently going through my gallery and came across photos I took when I was there 3 months ago. I must say a gem of peace and tranquility in the middle of nowhere. A perfect gateway from the city. Clean and quite. The staff was amazing. The room/ cabin was clean, spacious, and had all the amenities a girl can ask for. The food was good as well with the selection. Perfect place to have a girls-only gateway or a mini vacay with your better half. There's even accommodation if you want to have a large family gateway. Awww after looking at my pictures I so want to go back soon, especially to thank the owner for his hospitality.

The Highland American Legion Post and the American Legion Ambulance Service hosted a holiday and recognition dinner. The choices were prime rib, chicken, or salmon. All said their choice was delicious. My wife and I had the prime rib and chicken and we were very satisfied. The waitstaff did an excellent job and the food was not cold. Very good overall. The holiday decorations are outstanding.

Peaceful & beautiful. Rooms were nice. Well kept. A little small for the price though. What i would like to mention is the restaurant. We were really disappointed with our experience at the restaurant. The mountainside restaurant. Service was great but the food was the worst part. We went there late for dinner, in fact on my birthday. What was supposed to be a special dinner turned out to be a disaster. We ordered the chicken parmigiana and grilled mahi mahi. Both of them were stale. The chicken's texture was mushy. You could easily tell its a chicken thats gone bad. Served cold. The mahi mahi was served with some other sauce not as per the one mentioned in the menu. I am guessing it was a left over sauce from another menu item. What a disgrace. Serving a totally different sauce is acceptable too but not a sauce thats gone bad, pieces lost the texture, not fresh. You feel so bad sitting at the table being served such food and expect someone to eat it. I am sorry to say, but just wanted to let you know that the place has a lot of room for improvement. I hope no one else gets treated the same way. I felt insulted sitting with my family and couldnt take a proper bite of the main course. Waste of money and spoilt a rather special occasion.

Had an excellent experience at the Catskill Mountains Resort! We took a fairly large party here—upwards of 25 people—and they were exceptionally accommodating to us. For no extra charge they offered a bus service that picked us all up from a centralized location at the beginning of the evening and returned us to that location at the end of the evening. When we arrived, they had an appetizer buffet setup for us in a private area of the establishment. We then ordered a number of different pizzas which were all very good. At the end of the evening they split the total bill for the food across all of our cards to make for easy, equal payments. There was also a pool available to us the whole time. In short, the Catskill Mountains resort is clearly very accommodating to large groups and seems to be a high-quality establishment on the whole. Would definitely recommend it for this kind of outing and I have to assume that it is just as good for small groups as well.

I was misinformed about the resort! When I call up there to make inquire about the place. I specifically told the personnel that I was looking for a low key quiet resort. She stated to me that the resort was quiet and low-key. Well that was a damn lie!!! It was three big there group that was there!! I felt out of place because I came by myself!! I felt the girls that not communicate well to me. I was under the idea that lunch and dinner was charge to my room number. But one of the waitress came outside ask me to pay for my food. I was so embarrass!

Bathroom was very poorly designed. Not much room very inconvenient as far as counter space to put personal toiletry items down. Food was second rate. It is definitely NOT a three star hotel. Staff however, was very courteous and friendly

We recently had dinner here. The food was great and so was the service. I can't wait to go back again. I had the surf and turf, and thought the price was very reasonable. Dinner includes delicious homemade bread, soup or salad!

The resort is a comfortable friendly environment. It is well maintained. The pool is large, heated and good for families or non families. There are fire pits which are a nice touch. The bar is a friendly spot for a drink. Overall a nice place to stay. We were there on a Tuesday and Wednesday the last week in June before season. There are three restaurants, a pizza cafe, breakfast room and a dining room. Work is needed in terms of environment and the chef's standards. We went to the Pizza Cafe with our grandkids. None of the tables were set. The paper menu was torn, wet with scribbling on it. We decided to leave. We had breakfast two days. The first day was fine with the exception of the luke warm coffee. The second day not so good. My wife ordered the French Toast which I had on the first day. She received the bread ends with small distorted dry pieces. The Chef should never have prepared and served the plate. Again the coffee was luke warm. The server was accomodating and friendly and the room comfortable.

On a quick trip to the area we searched high and low for hotel and found the Resort. We reviewed all the online reviews and stayed for one night, ( should have stayed longer ). My wife and I travel and truly enjoy different venues from road side motels to upscale resort settings. What a GEM this resort is...from the warm welcome upon our arrival to the check out we totally fell in love with this resort. The setting is amazing, the main hotel is comfy yet very upscale and spotless ! The main dining room is fantastic and furnished with an excellent flair with music & fireplace that sets the right mood. Our room, 215 was indeed a pleasure to relax and again spotless. Just outside our room is the fire pit and swings to again relax as we did with some wine. Our dinner that night was awesome, steak & shrimp, wine and the service was the best we have ever had, and I mean that...the hosts were without the most charming folks we have ever had, we laughed as we were engaged in some wonderful conversation. The food was amazing, served on time and our server was excellent. As we checked out we pledged to return in the Summer to enjoy the pool and outside seating for dinner. WE LOVE this place and I'm sure you will too ! Bill & Mindy Fuhrmann Ontario N.Y.

We cant say enough about the Catskill Mountains Resort. From the time we got there to the time we left , we felt welcomed. The room was cozy the resort immaculate and the staff was wonderful. The waitress we had was wonderful, the food and atmosphere in the dining room was great. Daniel, at the front desk was wonderful and always helpful..We stayed overnight, but loved every minute of our stay. We give this resort five plus stars.

It was a good place to stay. I only thing that was wrong was the day of leaving. We had originally was suppose to leave on a Friday. But called the place to extend it to Saturday. On the phone they were alright by it. When I got there to register our stay it was not ok. They should have had little tables in the room to sit at. And a little refrigerator to put a couple of drinks. I would go there again, but it needs to be improved.

Went for dinner, did not stay at resort. Food was supriseingly good with a nice selection to course from. Tuesday was burger day where you can get a burger and beer at a reasonable price. We had the Prix Fixe dinner which was very good.

We stayed at this lovely resort for 2 nights. It was wonderful. The staff is great, including Wendy who is exceptional. We were up there for a concert at Bethel Woods. We had lunch at the resort restaurant and enjoyed it very much. Breakfast was just OK, but can definitely be improved. Room was clean and cozy. Thank you again!

Literally the best weekend ever! From the second we walked in we were offered a beverage. The owner was fantastic! It was my fiancée and my engagement weekend and everyone there did everything possible to make us feel right at home. This place has now become a place that my family and I will go to for years to come. Also, the food was fantastic! We had a large party and no one had any complaints about anything. It was a really wonderful experience!!!

came up to this beautiful resort for an overnight trip and had a great time from the moment we arrived to the moment we left. we were greeted at the from counter by a warm and friendly staff that got us into our room in a timely manner. room was clean with comfortable beds, full cable tv, nice, and close to the main house and lounge. the lounge area has a nice pizza oven ( pizza was delicious try the summer pie) a huge bar with dance all top shelf liquor at a reasonable price. there is also a large dance floor and lounge area with couches and chairs to relax at. Outside the bar area is a nice arcade for the kids and adults to have some fun on a rainy day or at night with video and redemption style games. in the main house they have another bar where you can have a drink or glass of wine before you have an amazing dinner prepared by chef Pasqual. i had the french onion soup and hanger steak which were both delicious. the service in the dining room was very good and they were able to accommodate all of our needs. for breakfast they offered a continental style breakfast but also had a hot breakfast option for those who are hungry one of the best bacon and eggs i have ever had. i highly recommend this resort for families or just a weekend getaway with your loved one. its close to kayaking and rafting on the river and they have a shuttle to take you to monticello casino. highly recommend
