This shop and everyone in it really knows transmissions. They only have true professionals working there and they do the job right. Danny, the owner showed me in detail all the upgrades and improvements they make to their own proprietary rebuilds of the famous 6L80 transmission using TransGo & Sonnax parts. Their rebuilt transmissions will no doubt out live the stock transmission. Would highly recommend for all transmission services at fair prices.
Bad, very bad service. I left my car in a week. They told me that they would return it to me in a week. I went to work every day and saw my car in the same place. I waited a few days and they came to bring it. They told me a week and 8 days went by and they didn't even put the scanner on it... it's a junkyard for automatic transmissions.
Been using these guys for 10 years at least. They do everything, not just transmissions. They are fair and honest with their pricing and a great group of people.
Terrible customer service. After a week waiting for ordering a part (others told me takes hours not days), they scheduled a day to take my car to have it fixed at the same day. That's the whole idea of scheduling as one should mange at a capacity he can handle. I took my car and was hoping to finally fix my car. After couple of hours, they called me and told me that they won't be able to fix it at that day and RUDELY told me I can take it somewhere else if I want to. I had to take uber everytime i gave them a visit. The whole process took me 10 days to replace a temperature sensor.
Eventually, I had to take it somewhere else. WORST EXPERIENCE EVER.
BY FAR THE BEST SERVICE AND RIGHT JOB DONE THE FIRST TIME AS THESE GUYS HAVE NOT DONE ONE BUT AT LEAST EIGHT TRANSMISSONS AND THAT IS A RUFF ESTIMATE I HAVE HAD EMPLOYEES TRASH TRUCKS ON ME OVER THE YEARS,ANYWAY FOR WORK AND PLEASURE OVER THE YEARS AND I HAVE TO SAY YOU DONT FIND THIS TYPE OF TRACK RECORD PERFORMANCE AND A COMPANY THAT REALLY KEEPS EVERYTHING IN HOUSE AND STANDS BY THERE WARRENTY AND WORKMAN SHIP ANYWHERE PERIOD FROM MY DODGE FORDS WIFES MERCEDES TO MY NEPHEWS LEXUS EVERY TIME I WAS TOLD THIS LONG AT THIS PRICE AND WAS AT TIMES NOT BY THERE PERFORMANCE BUT THE DEALERS BAD SERVICE PROVIDED A RENTAL RENINBURSMENT IF MATERIALS WHERE ON BACKORDER AND TOOK LONGER SO IN MY BOOK THERES ONLY ONE PLACE TO GET A REAL JOB DONE RIGHT AND NOT HAVE THAT FEELING YOU WHERE TAKEN FOR LIKE MANY MANY TRANSMISSON SHOPS OUT THERE THESE GUYS ARE THE ONLY PEOPLE I WOULD TRUST WITH ANY TRANSMISSON ISSUES I HAVE NOW AND INTO THE FUTURE AS THESE GUYS HAVE KEPT MY DOWN TIME NEXT TO ZERO AT TIMES ONLY 3 DAYS TURN AROUND AND WE DRIVE MIN OF 400 MILES A DAY TOWING HAULING PUSHING SNOW THEY RE DID MY 1965 230SL 2000 RAM 17 FORD 550 99 FORD LGHTING BROTHERS S2000 SISTERS PASSAT THANK YOU AGAIN!!
Absolutely worth it ! Takes time to listen and understand the situation the customer has. Checks the problem and fully explains what the problem is and why it occurs. I feel respect and appreciate as a customer. Will definitely recommend and come back being reassure that my car is fixed correctly the first time
Honest and Professional. My 2016 Tacoma's transmission was slipping and shaking violently. It has 90k miles and warranty department said it would not cover. Lou from Advance transmission called the warranty company for me everyday and fought for me !!. Lou got me approved eventually. It's a very big job replacing a transmission but they got it done in 5 days..exactly on time. My truck been back at work for few weeks now and it drives good as new.
Advance towed my car from the nearby Honda dealer (no extra charge) rebuilt my transmission and then checked it not once, but twice. They suggested we bring the car back in a week to check for oil leaks which we did and there was no problem. Then, a week later when I'd had my car serviced for another issue and the Honda mechanic spotted what he thought was a leak from the transmission, I brought it back to Advance. They put it up on the lift, gave it a thorough check and once again, no problem and no additional charge.
In October 2017, I spent almost $3000 for a transmission in my vehicle. Whatever shabby workmanship was done, now it is going again. 23 months and 12,000 miles later. I was ripped off.
The Best best in the business i know the owner and he is more then fair and has great people working for him takes pride in his shop and goes over and beyond to make sure you are happy i use him for everything !!!! and i would never go anywhere else
brought my 1995 chevy s 10 with 270000 miles on it....was losing tranny fluid and truck was making some weird noises...thought for sure i blew my tranny....they took a look at it...filled with fluid fixed the leak and shes back on the road...no tricks very honest...thanks advanced transmissions
I have tried a few of the many repair shops in Smithtown over the years , The search is over for me . From my 69 superbee to minivan with 390 000 thousand miles on it . Danny and the boys are the best . Towing is also available , Also this place reminds me of Mayberry , Danny s dad around all the time and any day someone comes by with food , It s a big happy family and I m glad I ve come across them , John Urbancik
Short and sweet - The Best Transmission shop on Long Island. I have 5 vehicles, a 1999 SUV for hauling; the other 4 are daily drivers for me, my wife, son and daughter. When possible I roll up my sleeves and do what I can, this includes doing the basic services and tire rotations. Transmission work I leave to professionals. First experience- 1994 BMW 740i, I was the 3rd owner. I had a really bad experience at another shop where the car went from bad- to worse! ...while listening to me tell the horror story, my brother suggested taking it to Aadvanced Transmissions. Long story short: The mechanic diagnosed the problem; Dan quoted me a fair price and did the work without any surprises. Aadvanced fixed what the dealer and another shop could not. Great job! When the 2003 Audi A6 with all-wheel drive-needed new axel boots the dealer wanted big $$$ to replace just the boots. . I called Aadvanced and Dan suggested replacing the entire axel. The price he quoted was not much more than what the dealer wanted and I was getting two complete axels, not just new boots. I dropped the car off in the morning, had it back that afternoon? Wow, great advice and a great job.Since first meeting Dan and several of his mechanics in 2004, they have serviced several of my cars, the SUV, and many of my friend’s cars. Speaking from experience - I highly recommend Aadvanced Transmissions because they provide 100% expert service and always put the customer first.
