I’ve been going to Smithtown General Tire since 2016, mostly for safety inspections. Today, I had my inspection done and a clamp for my exhaust rusted out and caused a loose exhaust on my way home. I called and told them my concern say I hadn’t heard that noise driving over and I brought it in, they replaced the clamp and showed me the issue when it was on the lift. Forever grateful for their honesty and generosity!
Brought my company truck in for service. Oil change, tire rotation and check brakes. Great people and fast service. Service station has probably 10 bays or more to get you in and out quickly. Highly recommend giving them your business!!!
I've lived in the neighborhood for 15 years, but never been here before. Came in this morning for a NYS inspection, they took care of me right away. Was very happy with the service and would recommend to anyone.
My family has been coming here for years. I came in for the first time today and I had the best experience. They were patient, answered all of my questions, explained the cost break down, and were very efficient. I’ve came here a couple of times to get tires patched and an inspection. I must say this is one of the best mechanics I’ve been to - they are friendly, quick and affordable.

Friendly, Professional and Honest Service. My third visit there - check Engine Light was on .... my fault gas cap not on properly.....no appointment....they diagnosed it reset the error.....and sent me out of there in less than 15 minutes! This is a blind item and something that an unscrupulous station could rip you off on. It is so great to have Smithtown General Tire for my Automobile Service.

I have been bringing mine and my wife’s vehicles to Smithtown General Tire for many many years. In fact, my entire family brings all their vehicles to them. Bob and Tom are very honest and thorough. Never had any issues at all. They explain everything well, give you options and are reasonably priced. The facility is very large and many mechanics are on hand at all times. Anytime I ever needed service, they were always able to get me in and taken care of. Bob is a master mechanic and I’ve never trusted anyone with my vehicles the way I trust him. I had the most pleasant experience bringing my car here. Tom was extremely helpful and kind. He found the issue with my car and despite ordering the parts for it, did not mind that I changed my plan to bring it to the dealership instead (after I found it would be covered under my warranty). It is not often you experience customer service like this, and I am so appreciative. When I have further work to be done I would certainly come back here.

Bob at front desk very friendly. I used a free oil change gift certificate I won from a church auction (Smithtown General Tire donated it). While there they offered me a loaner car, which I did not use, to go get a bite to eat. In and out in 30 minutes.
First off I knew nothing about Smithtown General Tire until today.
Yesterday I hit a big pothole and today I had my box truck tire blow out and needed a specific brand and size of truck tire. I called my normal guy and several others but nobody had it and could not get it until tomorrow. My normal guy suggested I call Smithtown General which I did. He did not have it either but he would send one of his men to the warehouse to pick it up. Truck tires can be difficult but they got me going so I did not have to leave the truck on the side of the road. Thank you.
This place always offers the most honest and economical way to repair your car. You'll never be told you need a Flux capacitor to repair a simple fix. Tom went above and beyond assisting me with Tire insurance to make sure I was getting exactly what I needed for my tire repairs. HIGHLY RECOMMEND. Hard to find Honest people in the auto industry going that extra mile to help.

I have been taking my cars to Smithtown Tire for over 10 years. They are honest, accommodating and overall wonderful. I follow their advice, and they do not try to persuade you to do unnecessary things to your cars. If you are looking for a new mechanic, I highly recommend Smithtown Tire.
Away for a few days came home to a dead car battery , jumped it and took it to the boys at Smithtown Tire. Called in a few hours said car was ready , went to pick up to my amazement They said I had bought it there a year ago and though I had credit card in hand they would stand behind the defective battery and the repair would not cost me anything!!! Always a pleasure to deal with and go out of their way to provide service !! Wish more businesses were run this way

I had my vehicle there for two weeks. I was told my engine seized.
Turns out When I had it towed home, my husband charged it and it started. It’s obviously not seized but my money was not returned.
I was told to drive it for 100 miles and he’ll give me my money back.
Really? Seized engines only drive 50 miles????
I’ve been a loyal customer for years. Now I’m disgusted.
Tom and Bob there are always great and do whatever they can to accommodate people whether in a bind and need to be fixed now or just a simple oil change or new light bulb. Great people, solid and honest work

Lots of comfy couches and chairs to sit on. They have a Keurig with free coffee. The front desk staff is really nice. They know who you are when you walk through the door. I think their prices are fair when compared to other places. They take good care of my car. Came to get my oil changed today and they had me in and out in 20 minutes.
My steering wheel was a little off center to the right. The technician checked and told me the front toe was off and the back wheels were perfectly center. I asked for a print out after he finished. He told me the printer was not working. After he finished my steering wheel, it was off center to the left. I came back the second time and asked him to realign the steering wheel to the center and asked him to show me the print out before he fixed it. I noticed the rear wheel toe on both sides and right camber were off. He said he is not going to fix it because it is off but still within the spec. Very disappointed.
Great Shop. I have been going to this shop for many years. Tom and Bob are great honest people. For certain items i have priced them out and they always price match or beat the nearby competitors. They will always have my business.
One of the most honest repair shops on long island. They provide a great service at a fair price and are straight shooters. They don't try to perform unnecessary repairs. Been going there for over 20 years and will continue.
I am a former Ford Motor Co. Factory trained tech and have been around auto repair since a young teen. Smithtown General Tire is the closed you can get to going to the dealer. The shop is spotless and waitroom is clean and comfortable. Owner/management are honest and work with you. Outside dealer warranty repairs...Smithtown General is the place to go.
Came here based on a recommendation from a family member. I will never go anywhere else if I can help it. Everyone is very straightforward with you and willing to explain any issues. Unforgettable customer service that should bring anyone who goes here back time and time again.
