I always come here in the evenings after work, only today I came earlier to get an item my doctor prescribed. When I was paying at self-checkout I got an error screen and the woman working there came with a bad huh, like frustrated. I asked why the machine did that and she asked in a bad manner "are you buying a lot of stuff?" I said "excuse me? what is the problem if I'm buying a lot of items?" my bag was a standard size (blue) Walmart bag. She raised her voice at me and even interrupted me when I was complaining to the manager. Her name is Fritza. The manager basically contradicted me and stood on her side at some point, that is why I am making this review. 8/2/21 at 4:10pm (on the receipt).

Shoprite of Tallman has a deli counter and a food area.  I arrived in the store around 4:25.  I wanted to purchase a sandwich on a foot long hero roll. I went to look by the deli counter and they did not have any premade sandwiches.  I noticed the other food area.  I had to call to a man behind the counter and I told him I wanted a sandwich. He told me I should have ordered it in advance.  He said I should go talk to customer service.  He then went back to what he was doing.  I went to the deli counter and the guy there told me they don’t make sandwiches at the deli counter. I ended up leaving the store and having to go to Acme in Mahwah.  They always have hero sandwiches available. This is utterly ridiculous.  Supermarkets are a customer service industry and their job is to cater to customers. This stores name should really be SHOPWRONG! They obviously don’t care about customers!

Today I was especially pleased with the cashier, I enjoyed his work, he was just a standard cashier. And the guy laying eggs on the shelves, in response to my comment about the absence of price tags for some types of eggs, simply said: "Let me find out the price of these eggs for you." He went and scanned the eggs, although he could have just said there was a scanner. That was cute. The staff there are very friendly.

Convenient store, usually a good selection. Staff is pleasant. Only downside is half the time I’m there there’s no one in the fish dept to help customers who are interested in buying fish that isn’t prepackaged. The Shoprite in Ramsey, which is nearby, definitely has a superior selection however I am far more familiar with the Tallman location’s layout.

I have shopped here for as many years as they have been here. I’m living in the area for 51 yrs. Everyone is friendly and helpful. I especially like to recognize Jody, Krystyn, Pat and Valerie for always being so nice. Jody and Krystyn were very kind and caring when I fell outside on July 4 but got up and went into store to shop. They knew I wasn’t feeling well and gave me a chair and water and called Paramedics. They were very concerned about me and I thank them so much. They deserve a raise. Thank God I did not have any serious injuries just a few aches n pains. I also want to thank Kale for all the boxes he gave me for our upcoming move. He was very respectful and kind. We will be staying local. I’ve made many friends with the staff and enjoy seeing them. God bless them Always a pleasure. Thank you Shop Rite.

Like this place shop here for 8 yrs every time people were great except this one time the cashier was not friendly. I asked the cashier for money back. She said ok after I take the next customer. I waited and told her the customer had 2 carts and I have ice cream and it's going to melt. She said I know. I will never go to her again. But still like going to this shoprite. Please reprimand her her hair was blond and middle age, she has no right to give people stress in a time like this. Thank you.

Great people! Some have been there for many years, all helpful. Give them a raise! Good selection, everything fresh. Prices could be better and keep going up, but I guess that's the same everywhere...

Poor. I've encountered plenty of employees who are less than enthusiastic to work. Now that this location provides no bags at all, in the 2 times I have had to shop here, the cashiers after ringing up the items just stood by and watched as I packed my own bags despite the fact that I laid them atop the mound of groceries. Appears evident to me management needs to schedule some serious training of its employees under these new circumstances or better screen candidates for employment.

Great place to find all your needs. It's just what you can expect from a shoprite, affordable items, at a great price. And yes! They have Poland Spring five gallon water!

Love this place! The only grocery store I'll walk into. Amazing customer service, everything is in order and neat which makes things easy to find. Fast self checkout. Definitely recommend!

This store is equidistant from another store in the opposite direction. One day I was at the other store, and noticed that it seemed more expensive than ShopRite. So I took my list and compared them. Turns out, everything on my list was less expensive than the other store. I'm not into it, but they also have a large kosher section.

I actually got to visit this whole I was away visiting my aunt and they have some good priced items and the quality is also good. I haven't seen any yet where I live. I hope the build some around because it's a great business and it has a bit of everything and I'm usually doing a good amount of food shopping so a store like that would be great. I am looking forward to visit it again because it worth the drive

They finally got self-service lines, now if we could just have people that know how to use them actually use them and not have to wait. Great selection, great prices; too bad they don't have a rewards program where you can get gas discounts like ACME and Stop and Shop.

This store is awful. No matter when I go, there is always something which makes my shopping experience a bad one. The deli is an absolute joke. I dont know how many times I've gone and there was no line, 4 employees standing around doing nothing, and it still takes forever to get my order. Often times, they don't even acknowledge you when there is not even anyone waiting. So many times, I've gone for milk or eggs and they are completely out. It doesnt matter if it's a busy Sunday afternoon or a fairly quiet week night. It happens far too frequently forcing me to have to go out of my way to drive to another store to buy what I need. Amazingly, the other store I end up at always seems to have these items so it's not just because I'm going at a time where everyone is out buying these items. It's just that they do a poor job of stocking them. No matter what time I go, there is a wait. They wait too long to open up other registers when the lines start to build up. When they do open another register, they make no effort to move people who have been standing waiting on line to the front of the new line. I only go to this store because its closest to my house. Otherwise, I would never step foot in there. It's almost always a bad experience.

This is the closest supermarket for me, but I try to avoid it as much as possible. While they carry a decent selection of fresh produce and meats and are making an effort to help customers to eat healthy foods, they routinely overcharge you. Always check your receipt when you shop at this store! One time I bought 7 items and I was overcharged for 4 of them! Last 2 shopping trips resulted in overcharges as well. Yes, you can go to customer service and spend another 10-15 minutes to get your money back, but it creates a really disappointing customer experience.

Lines were insane then add problems at register coupons etc spend life in there on Sunday. Its a painful experience. Store disorganized cheese hidden behind Kosher just poor shopping experience.

The staff in the store appear to be rude and incompetent. I watch the people at the deli tell a lady they do not have pre cut ham all because they did not understand her accent and it was easier to send her away. The random workers walking around did not seem to know where many of the items are located in the aisles or maybe it was that they just didn't feel like being bothered. All in all I probably would never return this location again under any circumstances.

This is the best of the local shoprites but that's not saying much. It is big, values are good, and some of its own brands --particularly the Apple sauce and crackers-- are good. But the organization of its aisles is demented and it shares with the other shoprites dubious quality and freshness of its meat and produce.

It's a decent supermarket Update: they completely renovated the store. They have a lot of kosher, Asian, South American and other ethnic foods. Bakery in store. Fresh ready made food - sushi, heros, dinners, chickens, etc. Nice produce.

Tallman is a great place to get the quality produce/products anyone would need. The clientele is exceptional. Always had a good experience here. But....your Pearl River Shoprite is the best ! It seems they have a "higher quality " there.

Not a top of the line ShopRite store. Always out of stock on many items. Ordering at the deli counter is the absolute worst. The deli staff stand there and stare at each other to see who is going to help the customer first. Not a very neat or organized store. This store also needs more help, always very long lines on checkout.

I like the renovation they did here, including the addition of the hot food bar. I would recommend scrutinizing the seafood here, though. It's OK at best. The seafood manager is very helpful. The people at the customer service counter are in no rush to help you, or to be friendly. Maybe they're jaded. Overall though, I do like this store.

Someone said that MOST items are kosher. Certainly not true (if you keep kosher you would know that) and a bit misguided if you ask me. However, Shop Rite has long been known to cater to the dietary needs of the residents in their area so kudos to them. This location also has a great selection of flowers.

If you are a Rockland County resident, there is no reason not to shop at your local ShopRite. This particular store received a generous much needed interior facelift recently improving the overall experience. Generally well stocked with a noticeable increase of better quality & diverse products. On average, the best company to do the bulk of your grocery shopping in terms of value. Produce seems to be somewhat overvalued, but an improvement in quality is to be noted as of late. New shopping carts provided. (finally) . Check-out can be slow & frustrating due to improperly priced items (scanned vs shelf price) and the time required to send an employee to verify this. This is a very common occurence. Typically being understaffed for cashiers adds to your exit time. Also be prepared to inevitably encounter a crabby cashier or a bitter employee at the "courtesy" desk.

Recent renovations definitely help make this ShopRite more appealing. This is one of the smaller ShopRites in the area and lacks some of the specialty items you can find at Ramsey or Stony Point. Good for quick shopping but if you are looking for a larger selection I suggest trying one of the larger ones nearby. Limited section of gluten free options but better than it used to be.

Nice selection of fresh produce. Typical big box chain food store. Some household products. One section does stand out. Outstanding fresh flower department. Well staffed before holidays. They take advanced orders for flowers.

Good value, especially compared to Stop N Shop and Pathmark. Really need to work on recycling area and having the machines match up with what they sell. ONLY ONE GLASS RECYCLING MACHINE, but a large selection of beverages! Good deli and fish depts.
