Jan’s med A car gets a 5 star review from me! My Car battery died the other day and within an hour they came and picked up my vehicle about 30 min away from their shop. They replaced the battery for me within the same day and even towed it back to my house as I was stranded with no way to get to the shop to pick it up! They were able to work with my insurance company and triple aaa which I truly appreciated. Great service, good communication, so thankful for Jan’s med a car !!

As many others here, I blew out both my passenger side tires driving over a pothole on I-87. Jan’s are the only guys who operate this restricted area and arrived very quickly. Llaney (sorry if I misspelled the name) was very professional and friendly - quickly got me off the side of the road and to Bollo’s market down the road. Also - while I was on the shoulder, 4 other cars also blew their tires. I guess tow companies have good business in this area, ha? :)

The service was excellent. My dealing with this company involved a tow. The driver, Anthony, was extremely polite, efficient and customer-service oriented. The service was timely and I received a follow-up call to confirm each step in the process from when my car was picked up to when it was dropped off at its destination. He helped take the edge off a very stressful situation.

Couple of years ago they towed my car here! Horrible service the old man that works here very rude!

Been here to get a Penske. Half the times the truck isn't there waiting like the reservation says. The staff on the phone are rude and not helpful. Or they hang up on you. Or they put you on hold and don't come back. If you want service. Don't come here.

I got a flat on highway last night. Anthony arrived quickly and professionally towed me to the shop after hours. My tire screws were not budging. Anthony worked patiently and overtime trying to get off my stubborn tire screws to put on spare. Eventually he was able to remove and replace with donut saving me having to wait for morning and spend on hotel overnight. I would highly recommend!

This is the second time I had a great experience with Jan's. I got stuck on the road yesterday and wanted to update my review from years ago as I'm not able to leave a new one. I called AAA and the dispatcher couldn't get anyone to come for over an hour. I then called Jan's and was immediately assured someone was on the way - the whole experience was once again five-star service from start to finish! My car broke down on the side of a busy highway, and I was understandably stressed. When I called I was given an accurate ETA. The driver, Anthony, arrived even sooner than expected. He was very reassuring and showed concern for my safety, instructing me to enter the cab - he would take care of the rest. The cab was immaculate and the ride to the service station (near my home) - even across state lines was not a problem. I mentioned my husband would be meeting me there for pick up and Anthony even offered to drive me home. What an amazing team at Jan's. Thank you! ________________________________________________________ Car died on the road, called Jans and they were there within minutes. Even offered to drive me to work while they figured out what was wrong with my car. By end of workday it was fixed! Cost was reasonable. Highly recommend Jans for professional and courteous, over the top service.

We had a super scary experience with a tire blowout on the Thruway. Tom from Jan's was there within 15 mins of our phone call and quickly turned a terrible situation around with his kindness and quick response. He gladly towed our car to a place a little closer to us as we were an hour away from home. The blowout was certainly not an ideal way to end a vacation but Tom definitely helped soften the blow - thank you!!

I got stranded, they picked me up on the highway and ended up repairing the water pump on my car after it had a catastrophic failure.And we're able to get me back in the road in less than forty eight hours. Thank you again.

Had a “fun time” tonight when my gas tank ruptured due to the heat from today. (Close to 101 at peak hours) was stuck in a bad spot on the side of 17N on the ramp to 87. Larry was fantastic. I called my insurance provider; who was no help with roadside - and was told to call 911. I was told thirty minutes by the team I was connected to - he was there in fifteen, super friendly and super helpful. He towed my car to my usual mechanic and this was at 9/930 at night. Thank you for making me feel safe when I was having a panic attack from all the traffic in that area. He was very much appreciated tonight.

5 Stars - Excellent Service I had a great experience with Jan’s Med A Car. My van unexpectedly would not start . I called Jan‘s and they responded quickly. The driver was very professional and courteous. I will definitely recommend this business :)

I received a tow from these crooks they charged my card twice one for 250 and one for 264. Now they will not pick up their phone. I also had 100 miles of coverage through AAA then they charged me over $250 just to go an additional 30 miles. I will be contacting my attorney if my funds aren’t returned to my card by the end of day today. READ THESE REVIEWS BEFORE DOING BUSINESS WITH THESE CROOKS!! Update 2/19/25 spoke to them about 4-5 days ago they stated they issued a refund of $250 and sent some phony refund email. I still have not received a refund and I will be contacting their local PD in the morning this company is run by total crooks I will be leaving a review with the BBB as well. Not only did they double charge my card but upon arrival to the drop off they threatened to not release my car and called the cops after double charging my card these guys are total scumbags just look at the reviews

Jan’s towing service came to the rescue when I needed it most. The coordination and professionalism was great and made my life so much easier. Highly recommend!

I recently had the displeasure of having my car "serviced" here. My car tire came off on the highway and I was towed here. That was the first mistake. After quoting me over $1000 for fixing breaks and putting two new tires on I declined. I asked why my tires fell off and they could not tell me. Because I was stranded here, I had to pay $225 for a service to fix the tire. However they failed to mention the damaged ball joint to me or that if it isn't fixed the tire will fall off again. I took my car to Mavis about 30 mins after picking my car up from them because the car started to shake. Lo and behold, Mavis saw the damaged ball joint and were shocked that a car shop did not tell me about it or attempt to fix it before giving it back. The only information Jan gave me was that I had balding tired and could use some new brakes. That would not have helped me if the wheel fell off again. I could have died! Do not take your car here! They don't know what they are doing and I will be filing a lawsuit. Every bad review you see on them here is true! I literally could have died. Your life is too important to leave it in the hands of these scam artists and criminals pretending to be a reputable shop. Go anywhere else but here! You've been warned.

Brought one of our company cars there. Whatever that guy Bryan is doing over there... just know he knows what he's doing... I can see all of the negative reviews are about old mechanics but they have really upped their game with new employees - specifically Bryan, who they make do most of their work. The dedication is real. They better be paying that man $100/hour

Found Jan's Med A Car through AAA when I ended up on the NYS Thruway with all my panel lights on. Start to finish very helpful and efficient. They go above and beyond and treat you like family. Would recommend them highly.

I recently had my car repaired at Jans and I am thoroughly impressed with the service provided by their mechanic Bryan. From start to finish, Bryan went above and beyond to ensure my vehicle was in top shape and i could tell he is very knowledgeable. He’s new to the shop and really makes a difference. If you need quality automotive repair work and want to be treated with exceptional service, I highly recommend seeing Bryan at Jans. They even have a diesel mechanic.

My recent experience with this company was positive. The tow driver was courteous and friendly as were the people back at the shop. I was actually shocked at the very reasonable repair cost to my car. I expected it to be so much more like everything else these days so it felt like I was catching a break which was nice. It has been a few days since having my vehicle back and all seems well. Thanks Jan!

My experience with this company was draining. I wanted almost 7 hours to get ONE tire. They are in the middle of nowhere. Nothing nearby to eat or drink. Except they have an old vending machine that one of the guys said they self that it only has soda and you don’t even get what you ask for. The lady there was rude. No one apologized for the long wait. They overcharged you for horrible service. At least have the decency to offer a snack or discount. And how are you a tow company with car equipment and you have no tires. And the guy at the front desk still had the audacity to tell me I should get another tires replaced today as well. So, if I did that I would’ve been there still today. Never would I recommend this company. And I have had a lot of experience with towing companies and tire changes. Never have I experienced this. Horrible service. I would put zero if I could. And if you going to have someone stay that long. At least clean your bathroom. Disgusting!

This company is typical of some of the HORRIBLE tow companies that manipulate their tow bills with extra toll charges, boosted milage, and fluffed up service charges. The woman that was on the phone “Jan” or whoever she is , was very condescending and trying to fast talk her way through the explanation of charges. For example: Stating that she can’t explain the charges that were charged to my card until her driver came back with the bill. Funny , when all milage, tolls, and rate per mile are assessed prior to them coming out to a vehicle. Stay away from these rude CROOKS ! I can imagine how much they’ve racked up taking 30/40 bucks here and there.

My husband got into a car accident with a big truck. The ambulance had to rush him to the hospital. So, the police called this money hungry place to take our car. The accident occurred on rt.59 and they charged $400. I came to pick up the car the following day waiting on my insurance to confirm that's when I noticed both of my plates were missing. I asked the older and and young on that were there. They both looked at me straight in my eyes and lied to me saying both plates got lost in the accident. I flipped on them real quick because the day before when I came I saw them in there and plus you can see where they unscrewed them. I said to them i wanted to make sure that in was in their property and that some crazy person didn't take them and do God knows what with them. Then, they started asking me for the title of car. I called the police quick. When the police came they said had to lie to me for safety reason because they have random people that come at night to take plates over there. They're so RUDE SO UNPROFESSIONAL, HEARTLESS but professional LIARS. Then, they lied some more and the car was not insured when I had the police report with stating clearly that the car is insured by allstate. Since clearly, they wanted to steal my car because from the beginning they kept telling me that I should leave it its not drivable. Worst place to ever call or ever deal with for any situation.

I had excellent service experience with Janice. I bought a used car and wasn't sure if I want to retain it. Not only Janice arranged for the prompt pick up, she also quickly evaluated it and gave me correct advise as to what is the mechanical condition of it. She also offered me cost effective options to fix it which were very reasonable. She also advised me that what in future could be needed. It wouldn't make sense for me to keep the car due to my personal situation and she is helping me out to sale it. All the staff at Jan's is extremely friendly and they give right advise. That's the best thing I like about them.

I've been going to this family owned business for a long time now and have never been disappointed. I'm ALWAYS more confident in their quality and honesty. The work has been great. The prices were always quoted before the work, and never was more charged. Each time I had a problem with my car they actually talk to you and explain what’s wrong with your car. They give you their honest opinions. They've always been extremely professional, friendly and very reasonable with their prices.These guys go out of their way to accomodate your needs. Same day service, truthful labor hours on the service, and upfront when talking about what NEEDS to be done, and what WILL need to be done in the near future. Would recommend these guys to anyone who asked. Take your car here!
