Jon is friendly, explains everything to me patiently and best of all, he takes care to double check everything and find the actual issue my car is facing.

Took my car for inspection not realizing how bald my tires were. John got be new tires quickly and even replaced my brakes in a day. John seemed honestly interested in my car safety. Look no further than John and his team for car repair. They are the best

John is a mensch. I got stuck on highway and was towed to Angie’s tall man auto repair. John looked at it. Told me it was a big issue (and it was) and gave me a fair price. I decided to tow home because repair would take a few days and I was just visiting. I told John and he said no problem. I said John you looked at car. Put it up on the lift. Researched it etc. what’s the bill for the diagnostic? He said don’t worry about it. I trust John. Thank you John
He did work for me in past was fast reliable and on point. I don't know what happened now. Had to bring my car elsewhere for work. I was told at another shop that the almost $300 he charged me to not have the car fixed should have been washed out but I still had to pay and bring my car elsewhere 🙃. He's short with customers, doesn't listen, and can be downright rude 😑
I have been going there for many years. John’s assessment is worth it’s weight in gold compared to all other rip-offs I got at dealerships. If you want honesty, integrity and a job well done, Augie’s Tallman is the place to take your car.
They're great! They do everything you need. Only issue is that they're on the corner of a busy intersection so getting in and out may take some time; not their fault though.

Great shop. Great employees. I always feel comfortable here, and I never feel like I am getting ripped off. Unfortunately, mechanics sometimes get a bad rep, but the group at Augie's is always professional and honest.
I went in to have a brake flush done, I was originally quoted $100 on the phone which is fine cause that was what I heard from other mechanics... they ended up charging me only $55 which was amazing!
I have been to plenty of mechanics with my 2012 sonata and John here at augies took extremely good care of me.
Didn't try to upsell anything or tell me my car needed more work done than what i came in for.
All around an extremely pleasant experience and I will definitely recommend to anyone looking for an honest and affordable mechanic.

I was just at the shop today at 759 and they’re supposed to open at 8 am. I waited 20 minutes for someone to acknowledge to just get a state inspection. I ended up going to another nearby shop that’s down the road. This was just unprofessional and unacceptable if you’re not going to be ready to service your customer at 8 am and maybe closer to 830 then you should update your business hours on google so that people aren’t confused as to when you guys open.
We were on our way to a wedding on Long Island from upstate New York on Labor Day Friday when our car started making a questionable noise. John at Augie’s fit us in on a very busy day and reassured us we were in good hands. The work was of quality and speed, and we couldn’t have been more grateful!

Walked over to Augie's when car would not start and I was just down the street. They came to where car was and got it started within minutes. Very much appreciate their helping us out on a hot Day with what could have been a terrible situation.
We limped to Augie's in our RV with losing battery power and thought a quick charge would carry us closer to home in RI. After a 3 hour charge, Augie found out that our replacement alternator was running at a lower voltage than we were led to believe. We made it home thanks to his knowledge about electrical connections. While we expected an expensive charge, he was extremely fair. I applaud his professionalism, friendly chatter, and sharing his extensive knowledge. Thank you.
I came here for an insurance inspection. There is an amazing man who runs this place! Wonderful personality and professional! Service was great, quick and easy! Would definitely go back if I need to!
While traveling from NJ to RI my car’s radiator died on Rte 287. I googled location near by and called John at Augie’s. After speaking with him, my car was towed to Augie’s. He pushed my repair to the top of his list so that I was able to get back to RI that same day. His service was excellent and incredibly accommodating. The Corner Deli Cafe next to his shop was also a friendly place to pass the time with excellent service and food!
I've been going to Augie's for about 30 years, so since I started driving. They are busy, but that's because they're good and fair. I don't need a perfect waiting room - I need good auto service, and I get that with Augie's. I 've tried other mechanics when I lived in other places, but none of them lived up to Augie's Tallman Auto Center. I wouldn't trust my car to anyone else.
Personally & really good clean work. The owner is just a class act. Big John, greets you and explain everything to you clearly and easy. Just a pleasure to do business with them.
Its unfortunate that i had to give this place a low rating because my first visit was really good. The individual that I worked with was professional and helpful; but after that I kept getting some jackass and he would be the only one there every time I came by.
I gave up on this place and found something much closer and better in everyway... Thankfully.
The people here are great. I drive a half hour to get here because these men believe in doing things right. I have never needed to redo any work done here. This shop is a gem.
I had a terrible experience at Tallman Auto. I went for a Carco inspection as per the instruction of my insurance company. Despite the fact that I called ahead, right from the start I was greeted in an unfriendly manner. I had my 2 children with me and the waiting area was a terrible place to have children, small and hot. Every time I attempted to make an inquiry-‘can you tell me an approximate wait time?’, ‘where is the bathroom?’, the answer was short and accompanied by an annoyed groan by the worker. They asked me to sign the form prior to it being filled out and ultimately told me that I should fill out the portion that was clearly marked to be filled out by the shop in order to ‘complete it more quickly’. I was uncomfortable doing both of these things and was given smug attitude when I told them that I would be more comfortable doing it the way it was meant o be completed. I will never go back again. The attitude from staff alone was enough to keep me away. Terrible experience.
These guys really need to think about customer service. My scenario today:
8.40 am, calling to Augie's:
Me: Hello, I need this and that, what time is the best to come, when you are not that busy?
Augie's: When do you want?
Me: In 30 mins?
Augie's: Sure, come in 30 mins.
9.10 am, came to Augie's
Me: I called this morning, I have this problem, can you take a look NOW and give a quote?
Augie's: Sure, I'll take a look NOW
9.40 am, my car finally in the garage, 10 mins later
Augie's: I see you need this and this, here is estimated price, will be ready by 12.
12.05, calling to Augie's
Me: is my car ready?
Augie's: Oh, no, we are very busy, we haven't started yet, it will take another hour
12.40. After exploring everything around at 5 F outside, having 3 cups of coffee in DD and reading a half of my book, coming back to Augie's
Me: Did you start working on my car? Because if not, I am taking it as is and going to another car service.
Augie's: We are working on your car, it will be done shortly.
1.30 pm. I'm all set, wow!
Did I hear any apologies? No. I actually got yelled at when was expressing my disappointment with time estimation.
Maybe I was offered a discount for my inconvenience? No.
Was my car fixed well? Yes, no complains about that.
Am I happy? No, my day is ruined, my plans are ruined
Solution? As easy as telling me coming on a less busy day at less busy time, especially if I call in advance.
I don't recommend if you value your time and have better things to do rather then wasting your time in a car repair center. Especially when there are tons of other car services in the area.
Traveled half an hour to them to get inspected, someone said on the phone for me to come, only to get here they should tell me they don't have any stickers left, what a disgrace!
