What clients say about Tuxedo Park Antique Shop in Tuxedo Park (NY)

Overpriced, underwhelming. Mostly seems like the owners personal collection, prices are sky high for the items.

Marvellous place, full of delights! Found the perfect pair of old chimney pots I had been wanting for years, and the owner, Patrick was wonderful - accommodating, friendly, and fascinating. And those hydrangas...

*FILED A COMPLAINT WITH THE BBB OF NEW YORK TO TRY AND RESOLVE THIS. I WAS INFORMED AFTER TWO ATTEMPTS TO REACH PATRICK, THEY RECEIVED NO RESPONSE. I STILL HAVE NOT RECEIVED ANY OF THE MONEY HE SAID HE WOULD REFUND. 7/15/2022 - I purchased a large vintage statue from this shop for 600.00. I had to provide a custom box that cost me an additional 358.00. I also provided packing supplies he asked me to have delivered to his home of a cost totaling about 100.00. I arranged pick up with a shipping company and was required to cover all shipping costs which total an additional 720.00. He did take it to the UPS store once at my request to have them pack it for him, but they stated it was too big so that led me to having to arrange all the other details. Before it was to ship out, I asked him if he needed any more supplies and he stated he did not. When it arrived I was surprised to see the packing supplies I provided were about 1/5 used in total. While I do feel he needed to use additional packing (which is why I asked), hardly none I supplied were used. I didn't understand why he had me send anything at all if he didn't at least use all he requested I supply first, and then add additional materials to those. His shipping policies do not mention customers have to pay for packing supplies/materials at the time of writing this review so I am still confused why I was being charged for those at all. However, I trusted that he would pack it securely. He wrapped it in bubble wrap, some packing peanuts, an empty box to fill negative space and some cut out pieces of cardboard and styrofoam. All of this was then applied with packing tape which was also directly applied to the vintage statue. This resulted in damages and chunks of paint/glaze being torn off. When I asked him about it, he said my packing supplies were not enough (I have a text where I asked him if he needed more before shipping and he said no) and that I needed to see that the fact it arrived to me unbroken (though him applying packing tape directly the statue resulted in damages). He then offered me 14.00 for my packing supplies and then told me to get the sculpture painted. 14.00... that is all he offered to make this right. After my shipping billing I will have spent 1,770.00 in total on this purchase and I was offered 14.00. It will cost me easily another 300.00 to restore this. Absolutely disappointed.

Sorry but going to say what everyone's thinking....not what the town needed in this location. Went inside and its sadly nothing like the previous antique store either. More high end and less of the small cool items. The townies clearly aren't their market focus

Michael is very knowledgeable. He knows his pieces and appreciates the art of it all. I truly enjoy visiting every time.

I love this place! They have the most unique vintage finds, and the manager is so knowledgeable about the pieces! Now I know where to go when I need an antiquing fix!

Vast, eclectic with treasures hidden in every corner, it's worth the drive for those of us who aren't local to the area.

Still trying to figure out how many antique stores one town needs. This place is useless to the town of tuxedo and nothing but an eyesore. The towns people have plenty of antiques and we surely don’t need anymore. If I wanted an antique, I wouldn’t want it from a store that use to make this town blossom. I hope reading will make whoever made this idiotic decision realize the value of their real estate and turn it into a store or deli or restaurant or diner or anything except an antique shop. Thank you.

Very strong addition to the neighborhood. Feels almost a coffee shop that I would want to hang out in. But it’s a store of a kind, with rotating inventory or eclectic, cool ephemera and specialist pop up gallery’s. Exciting to see it develop.
