This is a wonderful family business. I went here to get new tires because I knew the ones I had one wouldn’t fare well in the snow and the ones Bruce recommended for me have worked exceptionally well. We just had a lot of snow and I was able to drive safely with peace of mind.
I’ve never met anyone so passionate about cars and tires and who is keen on providing quality customer service. He loves what he does and it shows. The customers I’ve seen who come in are either familiar with him or have grown to be familiar with him in a rather short period of time. That’s because he takes the time to listen to your issues, walks you through all your options, explains quite literally everything and answers any questions and concerns you may have. He makes sure to tell you you’re not bothering him because quite frankly I think he just really loves what he does and again, it shows. His father also works there and although I don’t speak to him as much when I’ve frequented the shop (his father is usually in the back working on the cars), our encounters have always been pleasant and his demeanor kind and courteous. It’s a warm, inviting and nostalgic environment. And I would recommend this place to anyone else I knew who needed help with their car.
Bruce is very easy to deal with and professional. Does whatever he can to help out his customers. Also one of the cleanest/neatest shops I've ever been to.
This guy is the best. Hands down. I have been told by dealers multiple times I need all this work done on my car and then I take it to village auto and he shows me that it isn't needed. He is right everytime. Spends a lot of time on the work and takes pride in doing a great job. I will never take my car anywhere else.

Got a flat tire while visiting the area, was stressed looking for a reputable auto shop open on Monday morning. Glad that I found Village Auto Repair. They fixed it in just a couple of hours for a very reasonable price. Bruce was awesome, transparent about the service and the cost from start to finish.
Always works with me and my time schedules, very fast and efficient and prices aren’t too bad. The owner is very kind and makes a comfortable environment, Would definitely recommend
My aging vehicle was dropped off for braking issues. $50 to hook up to the computer and diagnose issue - fine. Checked in a few hours later and was told “just waiting on a lift”. Eventually told cost just to diagnose the issue would be approximately $300 in addition to the $50. I’ve never been charged by a mechanic to diagnose an issue.
Anyway, that’s not the reason for the 1 star. The car that apparently never made it onto the lift, now sounds like a Mack truck. I would recommend you bring your car literally anywhere else.
Was having an issue with a car I was trading in and even though this is the first time using Village Auto, Bruce went well out of his way to meet my timeline and complete this repair. He even picked up the OEM parts at the dealership across the river on his way home to get it done in time, the following day. Great repair and outstanding customer service.
I can’t say enough great things about this family owned and operated business. They have tuned up my vehicle perfectly in the past and just recently I had an emergency and needed two back flat tires replaced, in a hurry, which they did in less than 2 hours! Bruce is so professional and thorough with every detail. 5 stars isn’t enough for Village Auto Repair.

Was visiting Cornwall-on-Hudson from the city and needed an oil change and a battery inspection. Called ahead and Bruce Jr. got us in quickly first thing in the morning knowing we only had one car and needed it to get around. Dropped it at 8 a.m. and had the car back by 10:30 — he did an oil change, swapped our battery, changed the filters and windshield wipers, all while keeping us updated about the price (very transparent about labor costs too!) and the process/experience via phone calls. He went over all of the work again IRL when we returned to pick up the car. Bruce and his dad were honest and efficient and the service was excellent. Wouldn’t hesitate to return if we are in the area again!
These guys are the best - family owned and operated Bruce will take care of you. They explain everything and give you options. I have a 2010 Toyota Camry 200k and he treats it like a new car. Go see Bruce at Village Auto!
Village Auto Repair is the definition of great service. Bruce Ramsey Sr and Jr are a very professional team and most importantly, ETHICAL. In a business where people can easily be taken advantage of, I trust the Ramseys with all my auto repair needs without any apprehension.
The Ramseys have been working on my cars for a few years now. I went to see them recently because the trunk on my Range Rover wasn't working properly. Upon inspecting the car, Bruce Ramsey Jr went beyond the scope of my visit to inform me that I had an error code regarding my catalytic converter and that it was still covered under warranty. I was a few thousand miles away from the warranty to expire. I took the car to Range Rover and it would have been a $3,800 job.

Took a 1988 Lincoln Town Car that had been off the road for almost 10 years to Bruce and team. Wow - what a smart, detailed job they did helping me get a few key pieces fixed to get her back on the road. Detail oriented, careful & most of all kind. Great to have a resource like this in this area.
Honestly can't say enough about how impressed I am with the customer service and professionalism of this shop. Bruce and his dad run a tight ship and it shows. The times we've been stationed at USMA we knew we would not need to worry about our automotive service.

I went for an emission inspection. They were ready for me at the scheduled time, and took great care of me. I was out in just a few minutes, and had a very pleasant experience talking to Bruce. They know cars well, and are happy to help

Came here for an inspection which was actually by appointment and the owner (Bruce) told me I failed but was still happy to charge me. He tried to lecture me telling me my tail lights were illegal, which they most certainly are not. He also told me my e brake did not function, which I am not sure how they even tested. I went somewhere else and got passed in 5 minutes. If you know just about nothing about cars this is the shop for you.
Amazing customer service. Great comfy location. Did my inspection and I was in and out as quick as I expected. They will get all of my automotive repairs and maintenance.
I had my breaks done there, and my bill totalled up to $800. I was not really happy, so I rated the place, immediately I received a call asking for explanations. 😒

Before you spend hundreds' of dollars bringing your car to a dealership, where they charge you the maximum price, first bring it to Bruce at Village Auto Repair.
Bruce will advise you on the truth about your car so that you can intelligently question your dealership and bargain down the price. You may end up using Village Auto Repair to do the same repair or maintenance that your dealership is wanting to do for 3-times the price.
I wish I learned about Village Auto sooner and could have saved a truckload of money.
Bruce had the best customer service I have ever experienced--not just in auto, but overall. He held constant communication every step of the way, explaining what I had wrong with my car. Very, very professional man and extremely friendly.
