These people dont tell you anything about hours for dump. They don't answer the phone either. Anyway to help everyone else out. The hours are 3PM - 6PM M-F for regular dumping.

Very kind staff and super easy. What the website says is pretty much what it is!

Going to and using the facility is great. The people are wonderful and very helpful. Trying to call and get information is ridiculous! You can't get a person on the phone unless you know an extension number. They have an unmanned answering/robocall center because of "reduced staffing levels". How convenient for OCCRA! Typical bureaucratic BS. The prompt says to press zero to leave a message, and you end up at some poor woman's named Renee's extension. Horrible system that our incredibly high taxes pay for.

Easy-to-use trash disposal. Cleaned out my shed. Old sheet rock, lumber, old hose, glass for door. Old air conditioner. $15.00 for car load $15.00 for air conditioner. In and out 15 minutes!

OMG! Such great service. I am residential, I had some household items to toss that cannot be placed in the garbage bin. I took the items to Rock Creek Road, and received excellent assistance; I expected awful help due it being in the Syracuse metro.

Well, that was easy. I was only dropping off broken air conditioners, but just drove up, the worker came up to my window, I paid the fee, drove up to the storage door, unloaded my car, and drove away. Didn't get stuck waiting at all. If it matters, I showed up around 4PM on a rainy Friday. But for me the experience was pretty painless.

I give them money and they take my grabage. Nothing here to complain about. 10/10. I wouldn't eat the food though... if you find any.

Cut Rock road waste Management has been a lifesaver and definitely a money saver for me.

Several years ago, before Rock Cut was "improved", dropping off trash and recyclables there was efficient and staffed by friendly people. There were enough recycling receptacles so that several people could unload at once. The pit for trash was at ground level so that you didn't have to lift your bag or can. Now it’s a disaster. Most of us could design a better facility on the back of an envelope. The architectural firm that designed the place seems to have no understanding of human capabilities nor how to route vehicles drive through a space efficiently. Their name should be made public and municipalities should be warned never to use their services. Here's how the system works. You drive onto the access road and stop to pay for what you’re bringing. Then you wait because only one car at a time is allowed to go into the drop off area. And frankly, there's no way to allow more because it's not a drive-through. It’s set up so you drive into the area and then you have to back out. As I waited my turn, I wondered what was taking so long. When I drove into the building, I saw the problem. There is one pit for recyclables and one for trash each with a rolloff inside. They’re quite far apart. There is a wall surrounding each pit and more than an arm's length of space between it and the rolloff. I had to lift my blue bins above waist height and then lean over the chasm between the wall and the rolloff to dump the contents, all the while trying to avoid dropping my bins in with the recyclables. It was a struggle that took a long time. Most of the contents landed in the chasm. From the mess below, I could see that a lot of other people had the same problem. This time I brought only recyclables. I dread the trip with my trash. I generally don't use trash bags because they're a waste of plastic. My trash is in whatever small containers I get from shopping, which I stuff into can. How in the world am I going to lift a trash can up over the wall, across the chasm, and then empty it without hurting my back, losing the can, or both? Even if I use trash bags, I don't see how I can get them into the pit. It's too high a lift and too far a reach for any bag with a reasonable amount of trash. A lot of us who use the site are way past retirement age. It is just too poorly designed. All those years traveling up to Ley Creek while Rock Cut was being "upgraded" and this is what we get? What a waste of time and money. Too bad I can't give zero stars. At the very least OCRRA should install openings in the walls with floor-level chutes that reach over to the rolloffs. Then we would be able to empty our bins and cans into the chutes and the trash and recyclables would land where they should.

Consolidation of drop off sites with the closing of Ley Creek has created a double edged sword. Yes, we have an alternate site open with more hours than Ley Creek had at their closing. Thanks to democrat policies, they couldn't get people to work, so likewise that red herring doesn't work. They had good hours before democrats told everyone not to work. There are lines. Plan to wait. Space is limited. If you are a tax payer from Northern Onondaga County like me, enjoy your longer drive and longer wait. If they reopen Ley Creek, it won't be for years and the wait will be at your tax expense. Even then, there is no guarantee they will allow residential use. Oh what I wouldn't give for a mean tweet right now.

Wish they were open later cause they close at 130. Who closes at 130 pm? Plus they charge$10 extra for each mattress on top of the$30 flat fee. Doesn't seem fair that you have to pay extra for each mattress.what if your whole load was mattress es. Would you have to pay the flat fee and extra for each mattress. Seems ridiculous

There is a seasonal employee, Mitch, who is wonderful. Of course all the workers at the Rock Cut Road location are nice, but, Mitch goes the extra mile to make the visit quick and easy. He is willing to answer any questions.

very easy and convenient. I am a klutz and could not figure out the right place and walked into a garage. The gentleman there was very kind and pointed out the actual drop off which is around the corner. Paid 5 bucks and dropped off my microwave. Their website is very good too .

My first time since moving from out of state. Everyone was very helpful with telling me the proper place to deposit items. Also one of the workers had time to tell me a little about the process and how some items are handled. It was a Thursday morning and virtually no one was there other than workers. Happy to find out the $15 fee on the website didn't apply to my car full of flattened cardboard boxes. The place was extremely clean, not what I was expecting. Overall it was a good first experience and good impression. Don't be intimidated, go, recycle its good for all of us and this place makes it easy.

My family and I have been going to the OCRRA Rock Cut Road for many years and we always felt that the staff have the willingness to take the extra effort to assist all our problems and needs. We always go to OCRRA Rock Cut Road first for our recycling needs, and always have a pleasant experience with the staff. Hooray for OCRRA Rock Cut Road. You make our lives easier.

The people that work here are always...I mean always helpful, friendly, and professional. The site is well run and organized which makes it quick and efficient to drop off your trash or recyclables. I think Rock Cut Road Drop-off Site is an excellent model for what a consumer friendly site should be.
