The Best Buy manager there is the worst—condescending and a liar. Do your hiring properly. I have never experienced anything like this in the 30 years I’ve lived in NYC. To anyone reading this review: never come here. I never write reviews, but I had to write this one.

I purchased a new Samsung phone here. Great price. Last one. I wanted to be sure that the phone had the directors cut feature. The representative at the counter pick up, graciously checked for me. It does and I was able to complete my purchase. Best Buy has always been a positive experience for me.

Went in to check out a LG G5 OLED with a curiosity for Sony, based on AI research. I received excellent info/customer service from Mario/Jack. Upgraded/bought a Sony Bravia because of their help. Thank you AI and HI (human intelligence)

I am writing to formally express my deep dissatisfaction with the treatment I received at your store.
During my visit, I was treated in a dismissive, disrespectful, and discriminatory manner by one of your employees. From the very beginning of the interaction, the attitude was cold, impatient, and openly contemptuous. I was spoken to in a condescending tone, my questions were brushed aside, and I was made to feel unwelcome and uncomfortable.
More seriously, I perceived that this treatment was motivated by the fact that I am a foreigner. The behavior went beyond poor customer service and crossed into discriminatory and prejudiced conduct. No customer should ever feel judged, disrespected, or devalued because of their nationality, accent, or origin.
This experience was not only unprofessional, but also deeply inappropriate and unacceptable for a business that serves the public. Respect, courtesy, and equal treatment should be basic standards in any customer-facing environment.
I am disappointed that such behavior is tolerated in your establishment, and I strongly urge you to address this matter internally so that no other customer has to go through a similar experience.
I expect that this complaint will be taken seriously and that appropriate measures will be implemented to prevent this from happening again.Jan 02, 2026 -

Exceptionally poor attitilude and awareness regarding a very basic and highly available piece of equipment. Had to describe it literally 8 times and treated like an idiot because the listener failed to grasp it. Laptop screen camera foot mount. Basically a wide hook with a camera equipment screw on top. Not one had ever heard camera foot before nor understood the basic concept.

Horrible Service!
Beware of Buying a Open Box from this location. The sticker label in the open box only said scratches and small cosmetic issues, However, it did not have anything in it, no remote, stand. I paid for it to be transported and the response I got was, return it or this is not our problem its a store problem, you need to deal with this store. Good luck getting a hold of anyone in the store. For how much I paid to buy the specific remote for the TV and the stand it was more than buying a new TV.Dec 08, 2025 -
This one star for unprofessional behavior combined with aggressive attempts to push unwanted insurance. It was so weird when someone who works in laptop department literally was trying to push on me to buy best buy coverage saying "you won't be able to return it if something wrong" and "laptop doesn't work". He said twice that brand new pretty expensive laptop in unopened box which I bought 5 minutes ago doesn't work. He just kept repeating"It doesn't work....it doesn't work.... you need to buy best buy coverage/ insurance or you won't return it back if something wrong". That is the last thing that you expect to hear when you are buying the new device. I was just shocked. I guess they get some bonus if they sell additional stuff I don't know how else to explain it . But that's approach it's TOO MUCH. The guy even promised me that this insurance covers all the world including Russia. I don't know if you really can trust that they know what they are talking about.

Jose from the Geek Squad was truly wonderful to interact with. Not only did he assist me with my issue, but he also went out of his way to ensure my needs were fully met. The other customer sitting beside me also expressed heartfelt appreciation for Jose’s kindness and willingness to help. His genuine care made my entire visit to the store feel genuinely worthwhile. Highly recommend this store.

Ruben (Fifth Ave and 44th—desk area) was excellent when I just visited looking for a hotspot, and kinda already frustrated. He was very patient in explaining how it works and he helped me to set it up right there—which was great. His being so kind helped restore my faith in humanity (and I told him that, too)!

The store has a wide selection of electronics and household items, and the location is convenient in Midtown. Staff were friendly, but the service felt a bit rushed and it took some time to find someone who could really help with technical questions. Prices are okay, but not always the best compared to other options in the city or online. Overall, a decent place for quick purchases, but not perfect if you need detailed advice or the absolute best deals.

Really good value on products,but my god your colleagues aren't the best.
As someone who works in retail,I know it's hard,but this was one of the worst places I seen for service in New York.
Colleagues where not interested and made me feel as if I was in the way.

I bought Bose headphones and the noise cancelling doesn’t work. The store didn’t take my name, phone number, or any contact details. After returning to my country, I realized it wasn’t an issue with the ear cushions as I first thought—the unit is defective. They refuse to offer a solution because I can’t find the tiny paper receipt they say they gave me, and they never emailed one. Terrible service and zero consideration for the customer.

The 5th Avenue store is a great Best Buy location with a total of 4 floors containing a wide selection of technology and home appliances. The staff are friendly and each floor feels clean and well organised. The store does not feel crowded and there are also customer restrooms on the lower level which are mostly clean and well maintained. Not significantly different from other Best Buy locations in the city.

I had an amazing experience in this Best Buy location. They had the color of the product I wanted which I slightly thought they wouldn’t have it on stock. They also had great discounts for the product I wanted.

Nice shop and most of the staff are nice. I however just ordered some stuff online and picked it up at the lockers. However I tried to find some cover for my nem tablet and nobody could help me. I just ordered it online and picked it up 3 days later.

Best Buy is one of the Best store for electronic gadget.
The store is very well stocked, the associates are readily available yet not overbearing, and all on-display goods seem to be well tended to and maintained in order.
The staffs are friendly and accommodating. They are selling almost all types of electronic. Like Radio, Laptop, TV, camera, phones, games, bulb, fan, DVD, etc.
