I've used Staples print services for many years, in different cities. The print work itself is excellent. But the people who work in the print department at the store at 500 Eighth Avenue are supremely sour, sullen, unfriendly, unhelpful, unsmiling, unpleasant and unsympathetic. It's like they're all having a terrible day and want to make sure you have a terrible day too. The people in all the other Staples stores I go to are perfectly pleasant and helpful. I'ts just this one store that's so wretched: too bad it's the only one I can walk to.

Update your printing notifications! If you say something is going to be printed half an hour before closing time, update your notifications that way we can actually pick up before closing! I have to rush into the city the next morning because you can't do your jobs.

I had one of the worst customer experiences at this Staples. I came in with three boxes to return — two of them contained light vases with foam — but before even checking what I had, the first staff member immediately said, “We can’t take returns like that.” She hadn’t even looked at the items. Her tone was dismissive and condescending, and there was an undertone that felt racially biased — as if she assumed I was a problem instead of a customer. When I explained that the boxes were light, she still refused to help, saying they were “too heavy” and that “their boxes couldn’t fit.” Another staff member joined in, not to assist, but to argue with me. The two of them acted like bullies — arrogant, rude, and abusing their authority just because they could. It genuinely felt like they didn’t want to work and were taking it out on customers.

I had a very disappointing experience at this Staples location. I waited for a long time before anyone assisted me, and when they finally did, the staff was rude and dismissive. Their attitude was unprofessional and made me feel unwelcome. It’s frustrating to spend time waiting only to be treated with such lack of respect and courtesy. I expected better customer service from a store like Staples

There's an amazing young lady that works at this location her name is Keyanna she gets 10 Gold Stars ⭐ she Rock!!! I saw her handle more than 3 people at once, she's knowledgeable, extremely helpful kind and handled everything with class grace. Thank you for having her on your team at staples we need more Keyannas!!! Give her a Christmas bonus she deserves it

I loved the Bryant Park Location as it was near the library to do work or have access to the public facilities. Let us know in the future of closures via email. Other than that, Staples has great customer service and we enjoy being a part of the Loyalty Program as well as the benefits of purchasing our business favorites.

I came to this location for the first time and I was immediately greeted by the stench of a homeless man inside of the entrance of the store. Not a good look.

I like coming to this Staples; it close to my train station and it has the items I need. I was looking for some items and thought I'd need to go to different stores but after getting to Staples, I found everything there. Convenient. I like that the associates are not all over you when you walk in. They were helpful.

I made a small purchase today with Richard at the register and may I say, WOW! His customer service was A1. He was very approachable and had a soft spoken demeanor and was very open to conversation. He is also has a celebrity look alike which I think is so much fun, and an amazing conversation starter. Thank you for your service Richard!!!!

I didn't think all the other reviews were going to be so accurate but this is easily the worst place to print I've ever experienced. Same day printing is very bad, there is no real ETA.
I went in person to ask about the online order (which was made the day before) and they wouldn't give me an estimate, only that it was going to be ready by 7:30pm. It was a pretty basic poster print. I went across the street to the FedEx and they were actually so helpful. Within 20 mins they were able to take my order and print it out on the spot.
If you're going here for any print job, I would completely avoid this store. The FedEx across the street is much faster, and way better customer service that is helpful. This staples store is the opposite of that.
Update: Even by 6:00 pm the order still isn't showing as ready. It's hard to rely on any important printing job when you can't fulfill the same day printing promise in a timely manner.Jul 18, 2025 -
Staples is open long hours, so very convenient--I can shop before or after work as needed. Always well stocked, personnel are knowledgeable and helpful. Prices are fair and there are often sales.

Just as everyone else complains, the women in the printing center has zero customer service. Very condescending for no reason. I have been to many staples and they always help me print. Not only was she not helpful at all but also told me to go and use the computer to print. I was charged 1.70 per sheet of paper and it didn’t even print the right size (11 x 17) even though I made sure to change the size before printing ( I’m assuming they don’t make sure the printers have this size of paper). If she doesn’t want to do her job then why is she even working there?

Perfect disinterested staff!
I spent an hour and a half on the way to this place! I came to them an hour before closing. I tried to receive the parcel, but their terminal didn’t work! I explain to them that I am me, here is my document, here is a record in the mobile sentence that this is my parcel! You can make a note on paper! They absolutely don’t want to work! They just referred to the support service, which didn’t work that evening! I wrote in the chat. There the guy was kind and tried to help me, but when he told them to make a record and give the parcel, they just said we were closed, leave the building!
I spent an hour and a half on the way to them, then I corresponded with the support service for another hour, since they didn’t answer the calls anymore! In the end, he left with nothing!
Absolutely unprofessional staff! Aggressive faces, never smiled, did not try to help!

I’ve had good experiences with the Staples Print Services but will never go back to this location
There was a problem with my prints and they could not have cared less even though I stressed that I urgently need them. The manager (dark hairs, F) was unnecessarily condescending. I told her that at any other Staples location I would receive help and she told me that this is not her problem
I told them that I order from their company almost every week with large orders and that they might lose me as a customer but the manager did not seem to be interested. This would never ever happen at a small business

I prefer this Staples location for Amazon returns. It's convenient due to its proximity to Penn Station and I can drop off items on my way to/from work.
This location has always been reliable for me, and Amazon often refunds me within a few hours of item scanning. I've never had any problems with the staff. They are always courteous.Feb 25, 2025 -
0 stars. The girl at the printer service has the NASTIEST attitude. Even when I was TRYING to be nice. I work in customer service myself.. i get it. But the attitude and frenziness for picking up a print is insane. She also had the audacity to tell me “have a nice day” while she had me waiting for my order when it was right in front of me. If you hate your job, you might as well quit.

I had a bad experience at the Staples Store located 500 Eighth Avenue this weekend. The Agent that walked me through the process of how to scan, send, copy went well. She was so kind and helpful. But the end result was not good at all. Why? I didn't get a confirmation from the machine or from the cashier. They didn't help me with that. They acted like it wasn't their fault. I never got my copies sent to my email or for the fax sent to a company. I paid twice for the same process. I got a refund for one. But I still don't know where my documents went. That is concerning for me. If these machines are outdated, the store should start replacing their machines. I recommend not to go to this store at all. I don't trust it.

I went there to drop off an Amazon returns. After that I went upstairs to check on the clearance section. I found an item that I liked and I went to check on the price. The price on the register was $20 and I did not like it because I found it cheaper online. I took the item and went back to the clearance section to put it back on the shelf. A Staples employee suspected me of stealing the item and was acting very nasty towards me. I never steal. He approached me in a way that I am some kind of a homeless looking person.
Staples, that I why I do not go to your stores anymore because of the staff that you hire. If I could I would leave zero stars or even minus rating.Dec 24, 2024 -
The stress of getting a same day print order in before the cut off, just for them to cancel it bc their printer is broken and tell me try another location. Thereby delaying the whole process.
A company this big shouldn’t be taking print orders for locations that cannot do them, it’s that easy.
However there is 0 customer support for these issues, so now my print order is delayed and I’m still paying the same amount. Nobody can expedite it quicker or have the cost reflect the services providedSep 25, 2024 -
I am very disappointed at this store. I did Amazon item return at the store several times. Some of them are not good, looking mad, unenthusiastic, and not speak anything. I returned 2 items. The guy put them altogether. Later on, Amazon said I did not return both, which is strange. I ended up not getting refund for 1 item. I will never come back this store to return amazon items or purchase.

went to the staple booth at the javitz and the reps mentioned the 34 street location. I came across this handsome gentleman who could sell a salesman a pair of shoe strings. He told me his name was AC and as he showed me the different items that could be purchased at Staples specifically the one in Manhattan by 34th or 35th Street he made it clear that the items such as the beautiful leather bag which was a backpack was not being sold at the expo. Not fair. I think Staples really blew it this weekend at the travel expo for not selling items. The travel plastic credit card wallet type thingamajig that you'll see in the picture was awesome perfect for traveling and the way AC described it as far as how to use it was just worth sitting and listening to him. If you're looking for a sale listen to AC of Staples he'll make sure he takes care of you. Come to think about it his name on his name plate was Anthony. It's a shame that whoever was managing Staples from HQ this weekend, had you only allowed your representative to sell the items you would have made a killing. So many people came to AC as well as the ladies and asked about the different items that were on display. But we were all disappointed when we were told they're not for sale here at the expo. I just want to say staples you guys should listen to AC when he talks he knows how to make a sale.

This Staples is located very conveniently. It is clean, well stocked and never too crowded. However, the staff is not really useful for anything. For ex: I was looking for a tape that i could cut and use to modify posters. The staff just showed me liquid and regular tape and said they would have nothing else. After i searched more, i did find several other useful types of tape. If you ask me: fire the staff, replace them with computers and lower the prices.
