Came to use the dog park…… don’t bother, multiple sections of fencing missing it’s not closed in, would be perfect if the fence wasn’t damaged and missing a whole corner

Nice place outdated bathrooms.Definitely need renovation 2 a broken only one toilet worked, one was backed up.One had a out of order sign on it. For who knows how long. Only one washing machine for clothes and two dryers. Seemed odd where's the second washing machine. Lol. The grounds playing and boring. I thought Nassau County can do better. It's to the beach were locked up. End of season coming. The staff was very nice.

My favorite beach, it’s quiet and peaceful. It has a skatepark, a basketball court, a volleyball court and playgrounds. Clean bathrooms. I just love it

The beach is beautiful but it is a long walk from the beach to bathrooms. Limited access to food or water for purchase, so come prepared! Plenty of parking and lifeguard on duty.

Really don't want it to be known how great the place is, then I will not be able to get RV reservations when I want. Great staff, clean, and a plethora of amenities.

Idk why I wanted to try different beaches, while got state park beaches nearby and only 8$, especially free for me with the empire pass, came here 15$ for a such long walk, and dirty beach, most expensive but worst beach seen this summer. sand looks like mud. I wonder if still have to pay if just for the playground. anyway have to pay first to go to parking.

The pool is clean and not crowded if you come early. There’s playground around and picnic area. Theres small food stall and little shop. Love to come here during summer!

Our first time here. This beach was recommended to us by friends who also have young kids, and it did not disappoint. Next to the parking lot, there is a snack bar, restrooms, and outdoor shower. It’s a long-ish sandy walk to the shore, but most of the route is covered by a woven walkway which makes it easier. The beach itself is relatively clean. Areas where it’s safe to swim are flanked by green flags (whereas rip currents are between the red flags). There was plenty of space on a Saturday afternoon. Our kids (from age 2 up to age 16) all had a good time - the older ones swam, the younger kids played in the sand and at the water’s edge.

Visited this beach off-season in mid-winter and was quite impressed with picturesque landscape. Beach’s depth is pretty deep comparing to neighboring LI beaches (Jones Beach, Fire Island, Coney Island). Parts of the beach were inundated and it created some interesting walk paths around flooded areas (might have been more fun to cross them in summer time).

This beautiful beach is one of many on the island, and we chose to visit this one mainly based on the parking cost, which was $15 for Nassau County residents and $37 for other visitors. It's cheaper compared to other nearby beaches that charge up to $50 for parking. A small hut was located near the entrance to the beach, with bathrooms and showers in decent conditions and a small kiosk selling hot dogs, fries, nachos and beverages. That was the only place to actually buy food or drinks as there was nothing else on the beach, not even a small vendor selling chilled sodas from a cool box. That goes for any other amenities as well - you have to bring everything (and also take everything out with you) you'd need for a day, including sunbrella (as there is zero shade and no rentals), seats or refreshments. The beach itself had two watchtowers with lifeguards on duty, allowing swimming in a relatively wide section of the beach. However, there were signs warning of rip currents, and most people stayed close to the shore anyway. The water was clean but not very clear, with some seaweed floating around. The sand was amazing—white-ish, smooth, and powdery— so be prepared to bring some of it home stuck to your feet. I was able to find some shells around, but not many. Even though there were many people on a hot, sunny Sunday afternoon, the beach didn't feel crowded, and people generally behaved well, with no excessive noise or loud music. This beach is also a good spot for birdwatching, especially near the dunes where there are fenced areas for nesting birds. However no pets or dogs are allowed on the beach or in the dunes. Despite the beach park advertising a dog park, you still need to pay for parking to enter it, which doesn't make much sense to me. Visited on a Sunday, July 2023. Paid by card.

Came here with my family, they definitely love the scenery and will come visit again. Lifeguard available if you are a swimmer.

This is a review of the skatepark. Nickerson Park is nice because it’s by the ocean, there’s a pool close by and a concession stand in the summer. However this park isn’t free and it has the worst ground on Long Island. It has both street and vert skate features for beginners and intermediates. This park has a perfect sized mini ramp but there's some holes and a bubble on the flat. There are different sized banks, quarters and rails spread throughout the park. The prefabricated ramps are okay so there’s definitely a few spots that need some love but the ground is absolutely terrible. There are bathrooms by the concession with a beach just beyond that. Parking isn’t free (they charge both residents and non-residents in the summer months) and the park is only open from April to November. Fun to skate during the summertime.

the skatepark is not kept up with. i have been coming here since 2017 and some of the holes have been here since then and its only gotten worse. i have never seen one thing repaired except maybe a safety rail. ive seen these holes and craters cause so many bad falls even when trying to avoid them. i cant believe they let children come here for surf and skate in the summer??? i pay $110 for a parking pass for a couple months and i havent seen any improvement but no worries they got a bunch of new palm trees!!!!

Excellent natural beach with a very short walk to access and easy parking. If you want a change of pace from the Boardwalk's crowds and tall buildings, drive 10 mins east and find your spot here. There are a LOT of unbroken shells here too, if you're into collecting them or using them for DIY projects.

Clean beaches. A skate park, a pool, and now the cabanas are wait-list only.. Limited parking and a loooong walk to the ocean but they put down a plastic walkway that makes it much easier to walk.

Pretty nice beach, not to crowded. The lifeguards are on duty. The walk from the parking lot is not too far the water. Lots of places for you to plant your base. The sand is clean for the most part. A nice playground, and there's also camping grounds, also rv parking grounds.

A wonderful beach, great if you like a clean landscape not littered with trash and garbage (who does?!). This beach is a wonderful place especially if you enjoy wildlife, housing tons of sand crabs and even much larger crabs within the ocean (1-2ft long) so mind your toes!

LOVE TO VISIT AGAIN THIS BEACH. WIDE OPEN. BEING A NASSAU COUNTY RESIDENT, WORTH TO SPEND $15/- AS ENTRANCE FEES.

Lots of birds ?, great to look at but leaves the beach smelling like a bird cage that needed to be cleaned out months ago.

We spent a beautiful afternoon at this beach, very clean and quiet place, I love the sand beach, so soft :) the parking fee is $14 and they are playgrounds so your kids can have even more fun.

This is a really accessible beach. Really beautiful and plenty of space even on weekends. Only downside is that parking is $39 sonnot the cheapest place. Great playgrounds, pools, and cabanas

This beach has an enormous amount to offer. There is a skateboard park with ramps, bowls, and rails. A great place to bring children as they have a large playground with multiple rock wall style climbing pieces. Climb up the wall, a ladder, or cross a bridge to get to the multiple slides. The beach is clean and beautiful. There are concessions available and also bathrooms. A large natural dog walking area off to the side of the parking lot with nice paths created.
