To be honest, I was skeptical to call based on the reviews I read on yelp and google, however I took my chances because I needed the car gone and I had a **GREAT** experience with them. They were the ONLY business that were willing to pick up the car from my house, let alone same day - and came within the hour! The guy I spoke to on the phone was very nice, told me a price (which the most I have been offered based on my weeks of calling places). I panicked and had to call back as I remembered there was a specialty DVD player inside the car that had to be removed. My husband was at work and wouldn't be able to remove until later tonight. He told me don't worry, the guys who come do this all the time and they will remove it for me. He did a great job and cut all the wires very clean. In the end I got exactly what was quoted. The car was not in great shape, didn't start and was over 14 years old, but had everything that was needed. In my opinion, even if they offered me $50 I would take it, because towing a car away would cost more. I think it's common sense the price is subject to change based on the condition of the car upon arrival, which is why I'm shocked so many people used that to post a negative review. As someone who had a great experience with them, I would say to people looking to give them a call, don't let those negative reviews steer you in the wrong direction. And yes, I would still post this positive review if I didn't get the price quoted.

I needed to get rid of my car that no longer ran, and didn't want to pay to have it towed. So, I called Junk Cars for Cash in Oceanside, NY - got a quote I was happy with - and within an hour, they were here to pick it up! And even better, within 5 minutes from that point, I was handed the cash equivalent to that of the quote, shook hands with the super nice and professional driver, and my car was gone. Scheduled last night for pickup of a shell for today between 12-1...NO CALL NO SHOW. Called at 2 from my number(same # I initially called from) no answer call again blocking my number and someone answers whom I spoke with last night he said oh they didn’t come let me call the driver I’ll call you back gave him 10 minutes no call back so i called back and was transferred to voicemail which is full. Called back 3 additional times and after second ring being transferred to voicemail. If this man was unable to satisfy said appointment the professional and civil thing to do is to let the prospective customer know of such instead of having prospective customer take off work and wait at home for your arrival which never occurred! Very unprofessional and unexpectedly very rude(the gentleman that answers the phone).

Thing is how would he have known the price offered when I never spoke to him previously. He then proceeded to hang the phone up on me. You scrap people, come a dime a dozen. I called them to pick up a frame. They said okay, I sent my address and 3 hours went by... after several calls and text messages, he gives me the number to a guy named Johnny, who when I finally got in touch with him had no idea what I was talking about and never received a call about picking anything up. I do NOT recommend this company whatsoever. I wasn’t even getting money for the pick up. You tell someone you’re coming, you do it. Thank god I wasn’t on the side of the road and needed a tow truck. Again, I repeat... DO NOT, under ANY CIRCUMSTANCE use this company. They are beyond awful. No class, no respect. No honesty. Wasted four hours of my day waiting for a tow that was never going to come. They should be ashamed of themselves and pick a new business to be in... which I’m sure they will be equally as bad at.

I was very pleased with the service that I received. The process was very easy, they kept their word and they showed up on time as promised. If you have a vehicle parked on the street and it’s collecting parking tickets just get rid of it and put some cash in your pocket at the same time. I highly recommend using this company and I am not easy to please. The guy who answers the phone is a little rough but he’s harmless. I was taken back by the initial call but as I talked to him about what I needed he was very responsive. I think that he’s a very busy man so don’t let that deter you.

Absolutely rude. I was supposed to have 3 cars picked up yesterday. Owner, I am assuming, called to let me know he actually didn't have enough trucks to come pick up my cars, which was fine. Today they were supposed to call before they came, I didn't receive a call but on my way to the house was hit from behind and had to wait for a police officer to come. I called and very politely said I was running lately and that nobody was home to meet them and again, who I can only assume was the owner, was so rude to me. He said that I had canceled numerous times, complete lie, and when I wasn't "so busy" to call them back. Definitely will not be calling back.

He told me someone would be by to pick up the car within an hour, and another John showed up on time with the tow truck. It was a pleasant experience, easy and hassle-free, only sad to see my old car go.

I have nothing but good things to say about Junk Cars. Called them Yesterday said they would try and be out around 5 if not the following day at 10. It ended up being the next day at 10:00. On time picked up the van and handed me my money. 123 and they were gone. And they paid me more $150 more than any one else around. Highly recommend these guys.

Guy quoted 125 over the phone. Said he would come between 4 and 5. When we called at 530, he said he couldn't get here til 730 at night. We said ok, come tomorrow. He said he would be here between 10 and 11. He called at 11 and said he be here in 10 minutes and didn't show for an hour. Then when he gets here, he claimed the same as other comments. It had after market catalytic converter and he had to take 50. off. We wanted to get rid of it so took the 75. This guy is dishonest and seems to pull the same scam with everyone. Not an ethical businessman.

I had called to get a 98 Altima junked, fine no problem. Was quoted 100$ at the time great, guy comes with the tow truck and says that I have no catalytic converter which thinking back on it seems like a bunch of bs but being that i had to get rid of the car I had no choice. So that 100$ then became 50$ or the tax write off, I took the tax write off in hopes i'll get more than 50$ for the car come tax season. If i didn't need to get rid of the car so fast I would never of used them, and never will again.
