So easily the worst experience. Dropped off my car early morning like before they opened then called when they opened at 7am told them the issue and waited for a call back didnt get one. I proceeded to call at 1030 said they still havent looked at it . Finally called again at 1pm and they said in an hr they would get to it they were eating lunch. Told them I was coming to get the car and they were like okay its there for you. Like ok I live around the block and cwould Rather take it anywhere else but here ever again . Rudest people and clearly dont care about anyones time

These nice folks just saved my day. I have to depart in a couple of hours with my family on a 200 mile trip and found this morning that one of my tires has a leak. My former mechanic of the last 10 years just retired and i didn’t know where to go. A friend who lives nearby suggested I try this place, since i was in a huge rush I just dropped in and asked if there was any way they could help, and the gentleman looked at it right away, found the nail and repaired the tire and had me on my way in less than 10 minutes. Christine at the desk was so charming and gracious.

Don’t ask too many questions! I called them 3 times, once to reschedule, the other 2 to inquire about getting original parts and the type of service needed on my car. Upon the 3rd phone call they put me on hold for a while while Guss and Lou decided I had called too many times and were not interested in servicing my vehicle (it has a lot of miles), I tried to ask why and they responded that “I called too many times and it’s not going to end well”. Shame on them for not taking the time to appease concerned customers that are anxious about getting work done on an old vehicle. I used to travel all the way from Suffolk to see them, but now I’ll find a shop that is considerate and doesn’t mind answering all my questions whether I call once or 3 times! Shame on them. Rude and inconsiderate. They rush everything, and if you ask too many questions it bothers them. Wow!

One of the best experiences I’ve ever had with any mechanic shop. They are transparent and efficient without trying to rip me off. I’ve had plenty of bad experiences with various mechanic shops trying to up charge me for unnecessary parts not needed to be fixed. But with Carle place auto they have outdone themselves. They guide me through how to properly maintain my vehicle, they are efficient and have outstanding knowledge of the automotive industry. Lou, Gus and Christina really out preformed themselves with my experience and will continue to bring my vehicles.

I’ve been coming here for over a decade. I have nothing but great things to say about them. When I had to have my rotors and brake pads replaced, they did it and then it turned out they were sent faulty parts (mind you, I was in Canada at this point when my car started acting up). I brought it back in as soon as I came back and they replaced it for free! They answer all my questions and make sure I fully understand their answers. I would recommend them to anyone.

If you want to waste your money and waste your time, please go ahead and give this rude place business. Remember: money are hard to make and time ones is lost is… gone! Many better shops in town than this place. Unprofessional and disrespectful! Been a client for long time and even got my family to use this place. They are horrible! I now found a shop that not only does a great job, the owner and employees are also professional, welcoming, friendly and most of all They Care and do a great job fixing my car. So I’m happy to pay and tip! Stay away from here!

Back on Feb 26, 2024 I apparently was supposed to have my rotors and brake pads replaced, I say supposedly because I do not think they replaced the rotors and brake pads. Fast Forward to August 2024 and the rotors are heavily oxidized and have major grooves on them. Every time I brake on the vehicle it makes a loud whistling noise, mind you all, my rotors before "the work was done" was fine and no noise when braking at a red light/stop sign, and no grooves on rotors. Either they did not work on my vehicle or did poor work at best on my vehicle and charged me $650 for "the work". Back to August of 2024 I went back to the shop to explain this to the Mechanic and he did not let me finish telling him the issues, and said he'd order the parts for make/model/year of as said vehicle...I have not received a phone call since; in regards to the parts and they have my phone number on file as I provided it to them upon return visit. In sum, the mechanics at this location are con-artists, and I was cheated out of $650 for work that most likely was not done. My advice to you all is do not let this happen to you, avoid this location, and take your money elsewhere.

Called for an estimate and boss answered. Asked him to repeat and confirm the price and a total, he told me if I ask again, he’s going to hang up. I’ve been going to this auto shop for over ten years, the customer service wasn’t always there, but pricing, service and schedule were ok, so I just shrugged it off, and that’s the reason for the 2 stars. But today’s encounter is just awful, needless to say, I will never go to this shop again. Good job losing a customer with the lousy customer service.

My office moved to the same block as Carle Place Automotive about 2 years ago, so I was really excited to have a mechanic so close! I bring my car there for regular work as well as emergencies and they are great to me! Christina (or Christine sorry) at the desk is just the sweetest and I’m always so happy with the work and especially the price!! Thank you all so much!!

I called early 9am and asked if they had room for my jeep for a state inspection and dropped the car. I called the shop at 11 am, and they told me it is not ready. I got a call back at 2.30 pm, and the guy LOU (RUDELY) told me the car is making noise and wanted to charge me $45 to check. Nothing was checked on the jeep. Waste of time and money, I had to leave early from work.

Working with Gus is an absolute pleasure. He is extremely hands-on and helpful. He truly cares about his customers. I would recommend highly to anybody else. Thank you.

FIND SOMEWHERE ELSE TO GO. Disrespectful, condescending, and the rip off mechanic everyone hears about. Not sure of his name. But he’s an older guy with dark hair and glasses. In the short conversation, he tells me he is “doing me a favor”, then raises his price. Tell me he’s “got better things to do.” Do yourself a favor. GO FIND SOMEONE ELSE. Don’t waste your time with this shop. Would like to say I’m in healthcare and I’m ver tolerable with people. But this guy will outright lie to your face. And take your money.

Carle Place Automotive is the only play on Long Island! Family owned and operated, there is a reason they are constantly busy every day they are open. They are knowledgable and trustworthy, and are my one stop shop for all my auto repair needs. While they may not be the cheapest, they are the best, and the prices are negligible for the quality of worksmanship you get at the shop. If you are looking for an honest mechanic that peforms quality work at reasonable prices, look no further than Carle Place Automotive!!

Great to have such an honest team in town. I took my car elsewhere on a Sunday and was told I needed a new tire. Carle place auto looked at it the next day and said a $20 plug would do - saved me a few hundred. Thanks.

GARBAGE TIME! Awful customer service and constantly overwhelmed. I had 3 separate appointments for an inspection and they couldn't service the appointment they made! First time the machine was down, second time they were too busy and this time they had walk ins in front of me. So why take the appointment? Not to mention the owner (Lou) was rude and offered no help outside of "I can't help you". I'm sure my $80 won't make an impact but you lost a customer. AVOID!!!!

I have been going Care Place Auto for all of my repair needs like: state inspection, tire changes, brakes, battery change. This place is my go to place when it comes to car repairs. The owner and the staffs of this place is great. They treated me more than just fairly and the rate is very reasonable. Most recently I needed a state inspection for my jeep wrangler, but the battery in that car just died on me right before the inspection. To make it worse, I have a trip coming in 2 days so I wont be able to pick up my car until 2 weeks after. The owner told me they would take care of the battery change and inspection then drop of my car at my driveway after it's all done!!! what more can you ask for?? I'm really thrilled with the quality of their work and services. As long as I have a car, this will be the place I come for repairs! Highly recommended!!

He's my go to mechanic. Family owned and friendly as can be. I have never been disappointed with their service. They will give outstanding and personal service if they know you. Of course I am only one person; but these are actually a good group there are none better in my book.

I’ve been going to these guys since they were on old country road G&L Exxon in the late 90s. 6 cars in. Always treated fairly and good workmanship. I can rely on their work. Lou, Gus, and Christina are just excellent people to deal with.

I went three days here for State Inspection. Every times they said it'll take two hours for State Inspection and I've to keep the car or wait over there! First time I think may be they are busy with other works than went over in next day they said two hours and I was surprised and think again they may be busy too. In third day they said again two hours and I asked the guy two hours but he became angry and said me, everyday same question! He was whispering and walk away! I'm driving for many years but never heard that state inspection takes two hours. I know they put a cable and check the engine and than give the report with a new sticker if the car pass the inspection. Another day I just change one of my tyre. I brought a new tyre and they just changed it. First the guy said the price will be $15.00. I said ok but when I was paying they said the price is $20.00! They may have there own customers and don't care about others. It's so worst. I'm doing my inspection in other place and it's finished when I'm writing and posting this! Wishing good luck and good business.

These other reviews must be friends of theirs. Very grumpy and was told that I had an attitude. Called the previous day and was told "we can handle that, bring it in." The following morning I was met by someone who wouldn't even visually inspect my issue before I left. I was then told "my days of jumping under cars are over, I have to wait until I can put it on a lift." My truck is almost two feet off the ground already, I'm not driving an Acura. They don't seem to enthused about their work. I will never use this shop and recommend that you don't either. I want someone who enjoys their job working on my vehicles.

Spectacular experience! John was very outgoing, courteous, knowledgeable, and most of all upfront and honest. This may have been the best automotive experience of my lifetime and I have had many !! Smooth & easy ! Thanks again JOHN & Autobuy!

Used them twice and never again!! All I asked was to change my going flat tire for the spare. They offered for me to buy tires from them I said no, knowing I was going to Sears in the week. Instead of changing flat tire for spare, they put a patch on it, which lasted all of 25 minutes to, and I paid them a $20 for their trouble! I just went to Costco, asked a few guys to do it for me, and in 10 minutes, they were done, at 7:45 in the evening, Thanksgiving weekend!!

I highly recommend Carle Place Automotive and have been bringing my vehicles here for the last 5 years. I have nothing but the highest regard for Lou, Gus and Christina. They are honest and ethical. They take the time to explain in detail the repairs that need to be done. I once took my car in with the intent of replacing all tires which, in my naïve estimation, were worn out. They assured me that there was still life in the tires and that I could easily push the existing tires for another 3-4 months. Speaks volumes of how customer focused they are!

Great people and great mechanics, I have been bringing my vehicles to them for about 4 years and they have been always right on the repairs provided to my cars. I recommend Carl place auto to everyone and it's just because you can't get any better mechanics than them.
