Stole my friends car out of the Park Ave parking lot, that had been validated/paid for by the restaurant we were eating at. Car was validated from 6:20-8:20, and was towed at 7:15. When they actually answered the phone after 10 attempts the man was rude, belligerent, condecending. When my friends showed up at the tow lot to get their car, the operator essentially laughed at them as he said it was returned to the lot they originally parked in. More than an hour after first contact. Ridiculous. The city should not being contracting this company to manage its parking lots if this is the way people get treated after they STEAL THEIR CARS!
Towed my friends car when they had over an hour left of parking that they paid for. We had to call ten times before finally getting through to them, and when we did the man on the phone was rude and condescending. He said they would have to pay $150 to get the car released even though they had effectively stolen it. We threatened to call the police and they towed the car back to the parking lot but didn’t tell us, so my friends arrived at the tow company to pay the money, fully intending to dispute it with the city to get it waived, just to be told they had to go back to the original lot. Absolutely awful customer service, zero communication, incompetent staff.
This company is criminal. They don’t even have an office you pull up and there just a random car that they use as their office. Thankfully my car wasn’t damaged but I saw the drivers absolutely destroy other cars. Law enforcement needs to investigate this company.
DO NOT USE them !!! Absolutely horrible! My road side assistance hired them to come help me , he could not find me , and after 1 attempt , then had someone else call me to tell me he wasn't coming because he already spent too much time trying to find me!!! NICE 👍 , just left a female and her daughter to find someone else now !!! That was their job to find me and help . I actually give them NO STARS
Thieves pure and simple. They towed out of a very poorly signed downtown lot and then would only accept cash in order to get your car back (they said their machine was "down", lol)
towed at least five cars (all had a large group of ppl after a large event down the street) from the same parking lot late at night.
Don’t take card which is illegal. This forced us collectively (every group that had their car towed) stop by a bar for an atm.
My car was parked in the lot by magpie bar half the lot had no parking signs the other half didn't i parked in the half that had no sign and I spent a hour in the bar to come out to see my car was towed then I was charged 151 to get it back. This company is robbing people of there money
Absolutely terrible company and complete thieves. I went out this previous Friday 10/18/2024 to the Old Toad to catch the end of the Yankees game and parked in the parking lot behind Old Toad off of Alexander street. I literally have parked in this lot over 20 times as I frequent both Old Toad and Shema Sushi and never had any issues. I parked my car at 9:48pm I know the exact time because I texted my friend that I was walking in when I parked and Towbusters towed my car at 10:06pm so I was not even parked for 20 minutes. They were stalking around the lot looking for cars to tow. I know the time they towed it because that is the time that is shown on the hand written paper receipt that they gave me, after they made me pay $150 in cash (because they don’t have a functioning card machine). I will never do business with this place and will never recommend to anyone.
I had a working parking permit. They stole my vehicle then they demanded $151 just to get my car back that was parked legally. Do not give these greedy people a single dime. And the cops told me they don't care so that's why they continue to get away with this
I have never left a review in my life. If i could leave 0 stars I would. I was cussed out by the owner when asking for options with the damage done to my rim after needing a tire repair. They could not finish the tire repair, damaged my rim severely as well as crack and damage all my lug nuts . I called number provided to me from the worker fixing my car, he said they would reimburse me for any damages my vehicle sustained. Whoever answered the phone was the most unprofessional rude and condescending human being I’ve come across. I kept a calm demeanor and he threatened me used profanities and simply lied about the actions taken towards my vehicle and my person. Stating the lug nut was given to me in my hand. WHICH NEVER HAPPENED. This is a dreadful business.
Had a very poor experience with this company. Towed my car and when I called the lady over the phone who I believe is Lisa screamed at me before I even said hello.
My daughter is stranded in the drive through of a McDonald's and people are not being pleasant. I called to ask the status on toe. Buster, and when she answered the phone, she was upset and said She didn't think she even had time to write it down yet..like WHAT...BEING REPORTED TO BBB
Towing cars out of parking lots that they didn't get proper paperwork to put their signs up in Please be aware that in the city of Rochester. You must have a signed contract with the company that owns the property to put up your signs
Horrible! Unfortunately my emergency auto service called them for my tow. We waited 2 hours and they never showed. I tried calling and no answer. Good Sam tried calling and the first time they gave a new ETA, but still didn't show. They called again 45 minutes later and no one would answer. Unacceptable!
Very rude owner. For a car where they don’t even bother leaving a note that they towed your car, he is very much rude in answering calls. The place where they are located are very much confusing too. There’s no office to claim your car, you have to wait in the middle of the dark parking lot while they come to hand you your car. He gets annoyed easily when we confirmed if we are in the right place because no one was coming over. He also only accept payment in cash
They are towing cars out of the park ave 7/11 lot and then blaming the app. Do not park in that lot. When picked up they said we had to pay and wouldn’t even look at the receipts we had from the app for paying. Obviously was upset and they said they would refuse to give it back if I was rude. Almost had to call 911
Extremely unprofessional and shady business. No office building, conducts business in the middle of a dark alley. The woman collecting money takes your information down in a spiral notebook…. They claim their card reader machine is down and won’t reboot (apparently all the time) and demands cash only which is illegal in Rochester.
They refuse to take credit cards which is illegal in Rochester and NYS. They claimed their machine was broken. After reviewing BBB complaints, it is clear they never take cards and violate this law.
If anyone would like to join a lawsuit against them, reach out.
Incredibly rude when just trying to determine if the car is there and how much to pay. Towed car from a spot that's a supposed fire lane, one with no markings, no signs nothing. Person that answers the phone has literally never known happiness in life and must be the most miserable person on Earth. He seems mad about the fact that he is still alive but also sounds like he doesn't have to worry about that for to much longer.
Went out to swan dive bar last Friday around 11pm and parked in the parking lot kiddy corner behind the bar. Got out of my car and looked around the lot for any signs, didn’t see not even 1. I’m checking on my car all night through the windows of the bar as I have been working downtown for about 11 years now. Stopped checking around 1:30am because we were about to leave, as we walk out my friends brother said his car had been towed and my fiancé said my car was no longer in the lot. I looked more thoroughly and behind a bush was a 2ftx1ft sign that said “medical lab parking” and at the very bottom in small letters “cars will be towed.” Man did they get me. You could not see this sign unless you went right up to it behind the bush by the entrance. We called they said it would be $120 but when we got there within 10 min it went up to $150. The woman I paid said they’d be watching for my vehicle so to be careful where I park. Nice.

Their actual business model is predetory towing, and leaving your car in a bad part of town. The owner is sour and cartoonishly rude to everyone he speaks with on the phone.
If you're looking for a tow, consider giving your business to someone who's main goal is towing those in need. Not a company who seeks the far more lucrative model of unlawfully towing parked cars at $150/per and hoping you don't have the time to sue.
Bobby's Towing was sued by the NY Attourney General last year for all the same business practices- it's not something new. If they've wronged you, call the local news station or authorities. History would tell that it IS in fact possible to get companies like this out of your city.
Shadiest business ever if you can even call it that. I thought I was pulling up to a movie set. Security guard had zero personality barely mumbling. Then you have to wait for some lady who popped out of nowhere from the abyss. Over $150 for parking in a lot I’ve parked in for years. Small tiny sign in the corner of the lot. Literally stealing your car and demanding money. Places like these should be ashamed of how they run business.

If I could give them zero stars I would. My insurance company connected me with this tow company to get my car towed. I called a head of time and spoke with a man at the Towbuster office. I explained that my car is parked in the parking lot of a very large building with 2 main entrances, each entrance with a different street address. I tried to give him the address of where my car is parked. He would not accept the address, he assured me that the tow truck driver would call when he was close by to get the specifics of my car's location. I never got a call from the tow truck driver. My insurance had to call the Towbusters for me, and I was told the driver had gone to the wrong entrance. Towbusters provided no assistance, made no effort to just turn the corner and go less than a block away to the correct entrance. My tow was cancelled and my insurance company needed to connect me with a different tow service.
Parked in CVS and according to the sign I have 30 minutes before I get towed or I have to leave. Came back to my car after a quick dinner at Furoshiki and it was gone. Called these troglodytes and they said I was parked there at 8:26, and I looked at the time when I called them and it was 8:43. That’s 17 minutes (I guarantee you they waited 10 and took it). Paid $150 to get my car back but wow what a sleezy wanna be business model. Guess I’ll see you in small claims court for my reimbursement. 🤷🏾♂️
They patrol city parking lots and wait till you walk away then tow your car and charge you $150 to get it back . They are thieves. Went out on a Saturday night and parked in a strong small lot with no cars in it . Parked it at 7:30 and they towed it at 9:25. Total scum bags . Don’t deal with them. Merry Christmas!
Tow Busters towing company towed my car this morning out of my apartment complex. They lied and said I parked in the fire lane, but I parked in the parking space next to the fire lane. Fire lanes are marked with a sign and yellow lines on the ground. The sign has been posted wrong for the last two years. Residents has complained about this sign to the complex for the years. The sign points to a parking space, but not to the fire lane. The fire lane is next to the parking space whiches marked with yellow lines. The yellow lines are faded but you can clearly see where the fire lane is. I told the tow company this and they claimed they had photos of my car parked in the fire lane. I told them that I had photos too, of where I was parked and how to sign is pointed to the wrong place. It shows that the sign is incorrect, and it's pointed to a parking space and not to the fire lane. I asked to see the photos.Tow busters company said that I had to take them to court to see the photos. So for all I know is that they made the whole thing up just to get money out of me. It cost me, $250 dollars to get my car back. They have scamming and lying cause they're money hungry.
They unlawfully towed my vehicle Monday. They have refused to answer and dodged my calls since then as to what a daily fee and how much it would cost to have it returned to me, noone wants to answer my calls. I finally got someone on the phone who decided screaming at me for asking basic questions and then hanging up was the solution. Good thing I recorded the interaction, I will be filing report with the attorney General, police department and department of transportation. They are now refusing to release my vehicle to me and charging insane fees that make zero sense. And continuing to not answer the phone
I'd never had my car towed as i am a fairly new driver. I had been parked at a dunkin donuts for the pride parade for a few hours (obviously my fault looking back, but I just didnt know it was an issue) and came back to my car gone. When I called, the man who picked up the phone was VERY rude, no greeting, no sorry, nothing. Once I got to the lot, I had no idea where to go (no signs on the building) and it was extremely sketchy. I felt bad for the woman who came out to collect payment, because there are no lights in the lot. She walked out from a random building down the street. Not sure why they dont just have people working on site. I was sobbing and she said she felt sorry for me. I'm just glad I had people with me or I would have felt very unsafe.
I would give negative 2 star if I could for this. I was new in the area and struggling to find the parking because of busy area. The street parking were all full so I parked in the CVS lot and went for haircut. When I came back in half hour, the car was stolen with damages to my tires and paint. This guys are crazy. There were not even first hand notice for someone who who is new in the area and not sure about it. I managed to find their number and called them to see if they can understand the situation so I kindly requested the guy and explained the situation but he had too much attitude. Without even notice or anything they stole my car and robbed 157$. Be aware of this thief.
