Closing at 3 and 5 pm is a joke if you’re trying to be of service to the people working a 9-5. Not finishing a transaction that’s 95% complete because the clock strikes 5 and making someone drive back just to process a payment because you couldn’t spare the 30 seconds is also not showing you care very much about the people you’re job is to serve. There was an older cop who kicked me out the second it struck 5, as I was about to process my payment to get my car on the road the next day, but I figured it would make him feel better about himself by making him feel he had some sort of power at work. Nice people other than that

I was so impressed because normally government agencies do not work that way
There were a couple glitches but the person in charge made it happen

This is by far the absolute best DMV ever! We drive like forty plus minutes to go here because they are consistently the friendliest, most efficient office we've ever had the pleasure of dealing with! Yes, you read that right.."pleasure of dealing with," in a review for a NYS DMV office..I swear they're so good they should teach all other state offices how to conduct themselves. Don't take my word for it though, go check them out next time you need DMV services, you won't be sorry.
I visited the DMV in wampsville today.What a positive experience and incredibly nice,helpful,friendly staff.There was 1 unhappy ? customer that was yelling at 1 employee because she the customer let her auto go 90+days without insurance. The DMV lady remained calm, positive and friendly even after the aggressive attack she encountered from the rude customer. Very Rude. #1 DMV in NEW YORK STATE!!!!!
The Wampsville DMV is an excellent office with helpful and friendly staff. Make sure you look up what documents you need on the DMV's website before you go there.
Fast, efficient and courteous.This is the Best DMV office I have ever had experience with. They are busy, but still very helpful and patient. We had several things to take care of and quite a few forms to complete, but we were in and out in less than 45 minutes.
It’s a shame I can’t give them ten stars ! I drive 35 minutes to use this facility when I could just drive 8 blocks to use the office in my town,this should say it all. The people are very friendly and professional and the wait time is almost nothing. I am beyond pleased and continue to recommend this office to all my friends !

Amazing! Less than 10 minutes in line. Less than 5 minutes at the window. To the cashier window, payment and getting new plates! Oh no, the insurance agent had incorrect VIN listed. It took me 45 minutes to reach the agent & have her FAX new card. DMV was fantastic. Six active windows for customers and five cashiers! I highly recommend them. Will be visiting here for any future transactions.
Sam is the kindest soul to grace the halls of the DMV. She was able to answer all my questions (over the phone during one of the busiest times AND at the end of the day) quickly and professionally. I went from wanting to cry from stress to tears of joy. Thank you, Sam! 10/10 will return for all my DMV needs.
I know the dmv is the last place anyone wants to go, or stand in line. I understand it is probably not a great job to have to deal with people all day. Many people can be hard to deal with. On that note, when someone enters a public place to be serviced, it makes for a better experience when the customer service person behind counter has skills in customer service. The guy who waited on us was miserable. A smile, how are you?, and have a nice day works wonders.
I called the DMV with questions and the first one was to confirm that I don’t need an appointment. Then the lady responded “Oh my god no!” and immediately hung up on me! Horrible customer service.
Always Quick Service, Nice & respectful staff; even through the hardest times during covid, The Wampsville DMV was truly a blessing and was open most of the time to get your Vehicles Registered, Licenses Etc taken careof! As on the opposite end of the spectrum, The Rome NY Dmv failed everyone! Much love and appreciation sincerely to all at the Wampsville DMV!
I Will always go to this DMV even if I have to drive the distance because I know what I will get and that is the same true, consistent & wonderful experience time after time. (Afters years of coming here, and always have a positive experience I feel very confidently speaking in this manner!

This is the best DMV around. They are friendly and quick. I have been here at different times of the day and hardly ever have to wait more than one person in front of me. Usually I'm in and out within 20 minutes.
Wow! What an operation! And what great people! from the security guards to the intake people to the cashiers. Everyone cares about their jobs and do them well.
It took me ten (10) minutes to get my NC license changed, and my car registration changed.
Again, wow.
PS I drove from Rome for this great experience.
This was my first DMV experience that I didn't have to wait for hours for. I showed up with my MV-44 form and documentation, and was out the door in 10 minutes. Highly recommend coming to this particular DMV because the service here is actually good, which is unfortunately rare to come across for motor vehicle services.
Customer service experts. Few enjoy going to the DMV, but the Madison County DMV makes it as seamless and enjoyable as possible. They helped our auction business with titling and registering a collection of over 40 antique vehicles from an estate. Their knowledge and expertise was absolutely incredible. Thank you!
I visited the Madison County DMV today for a plate surrender. By far the easiest visit I’ve ever had at a DMV office. I live in Jefferson county, and our county DMV office certainly could learn a thing or two from this location. Like being friendly, efficient, clean, etc.
Shockingly, I can say that it was almost a pleasure going to the DMV at this location. I talked to an employee named Colleen and the guy that sat next to her, I didn’t catch his name- but they were wonderful, helpful, and knowledgeable. Even the security staff were cool. This DMV is an anomaly and I appreciate them so much. Thanks for all your friendly attitudes

Madison County DMV was amazing. I was in and out in less than 15 minutes. The ladies that helped me were very nice and very helpful. They went above and beyond to make my experience better.
Employees are very nice, helpful, and great to deal with. Make the process quick and easy, and are very professional. The DMV process was always my least favorite and I dreaded it until I started going to the Madison County DMV. I go to the DMV all the time, will never go to another.
This is the best DMV I've ever been to. They're fast, helpful and friendly .There's no need for taking a ticket and waiting for your number to be called, there's just some quick processing lines. Far more worthwhile to drive a bit to come here than to go to one in Syracuse.
