Cool place to get what you need done. Kind of quick, depending on flow and time you get there.guy's working the front know what there doing, so that makes it perfect. You'll also get a laugh, so be careful.
It was my first time going in here not knowing what to expect...to tell you the truth it was a great experience, the staff was very kind and it was very quick. They gave me a real receipt explaining how they rate my load.
Considering I had once objected to being handed a "receipt" bearing three hastily scrawled pencilled-in numbers, with the entire logo of their notorious [now shuttered] Chelsea yard crudely ripped off, only to be tossed a plastic Made in China trinket with their address stamped on, "Here, this what you (sic) looking for, our address?", IRVING, in contrast, was a breath of fresh air and the epitome of professionalism.
I arrived late (my receipt was stamped fifteen minutes past closing time) and was politely ushered in by Tony and my scrap gone thru methodically in a team effort in my immediate presence. My copper wire scrap was raw and uncleaned sheathed in paper, rubber and plastic. I am confident I received a fair price because I already knew what the COMEX was and, as noted on the bar-coded, customer-numbered payment receipt I was given, the IRVING buy price per pound per specific copper type, my sub-weights down to the nickel, the grand total rounded to the nearest dollar, were all provided with prompt cash payment made via an on-premises ATM. It was a procedure that took all of seven minutes.
This yard may be one of the few still in existence that understands the customer's perspective and concerns so well one cannot help but wonder why anyone would do business in any other way. Here, IRVING offers a fine example of the gold standard of excellence. I look forward to returning here -- their entire manner of doing business from being welcomed, waited on, and attended to was courteous, respectful and clearly exceeded my expectations -- and i would not hesitate to refer this fine concern to others.
In a nutshell: absolutely the best experience I have had in 21 years of doing business with 7 yards in 3 boroughs -- and mind you, i am an itinerant small-time hobo who walks with a cane arriving on foot with either a shopping cart, derelict dolly and/or roller luggage.

Great guys! very reasonable, honest, and trustworthy people. I exclusively scrap with these guys since the first transaction we had. I know metal well, real well and these guys hook it up.
Normally I don't post reviews but the staff here is very knowledgeable, extremely friendly and overall a great experience. I showed up pretty close to closing time last night and they took care of me as if I was their first customer, walked me through anything I needed to know, answered questions. From now on I won't go anywhere else, they have a customer for life
The only place I come to get my scrap metal needs taken care of. They are always so friendly and helpful. They have fair prices and seem to be upstanding people and good Americans. My only complaint is that they had too good of an inventory and were too accommodating.
I usually don't write reviews but I had a great experience and thought I should write one. I had a bunch of scrap I had to great rid of and this place gave me the best price compared to other yards I went to. Customer service was great as well, and the employees explain the whole process and the reason why which scrap is worth what it is worth. I will definitely be coming back!
