They can’t even do a successful brake job. Decent tow truck place.

Had a flat tire on the side of I 81south, had AAA, towed my vehicle in, gave me a good price on a used tire, did not give me any grief like other mechanics do. Awesome job!

2025 Silverado would turn over but not fire,called AAA and they sent S+R Josh was the most polite,caring and knowledgable young man,He knew exactly how to reset the start issue and explained the "glitch" he explained the services offered and we will definitly refer this business.Josh is an assett to this company!

Left Canada with a bad wheel bearing on our boat trailer. After several phone calls and a couple stops, a boat dealer recommended S&R. Thank goodness they were wonderful. We were back on the road in 2 hrs even after they had to find parts. Highly recommend!!!

Made an appt for Kieth to check my brakes and check my alignment, expecting to do a 4 wheel brake job and 2 tires. Dropped it off at 9:30 and said call me as soon as you know what it needs so it can be done today. They waited until 2:30 to call me and tell me it needed brakes and 2 tires then said they could not do it today. I said ok no problem I’ll come get it and paid $160 dollars for the checkout. Then took it to a shop down the road where they tried to take the wheels off and could not because the lug nuts were so over torqued. Called them back and asked did they have the wheels off or no? The lady at the counter said yes we torque them to specs. Then I said well that would be impossible since we can’t get the wheels off so she went and got Kieth to come to the phone. I ask Kieth did you have the wheels off? He says nope I just looked in the back of the wheel. So not only did he not check my alignment he also didn’t even take the wheels off to check the brakes. So this will be the last time my truck or both my wife’s car will ever be there for any type of service at all. Wouldn’t trust these people to checkout a skateboard. Guess it was only $160 bucks to get rid of us as customer, congrats bud. Btw my truck needed rear wheel bearings also that the other shop is super happy to get done for me. Keep up the good work guys!

Absolutel do not recommend going here man's got a hot head if you question him apparently, and will kick you off the lot after scrapping your sticker while cussing and threating you with cops but will still bring you inside to pay but not let you return. By questioning I mean asking how they can pass it the last 3 years for the same thing. I wear hearing aids and even after telling the man he still continued to keep yelling save yourself the trouble and money and find somewhere else.

I got stuck in the middle of nowhere. They got to me as fast as they could because I was alone. AAA said their network had a 3-4 hour wait. S&R Automotive made it in less than 45 minutes to save the day! The gentleman was extremely kind and super knowledgeable about my Toyota 4Runner. I appreciate the help!

I want to give a big shout out to this company. I caught a flat going home from sryacuse to fort drum and i have a lowered car.i am in the military so i needed a tow back to base and The tow driver sonny was so professional and knew how to get a lowered car on the flatbed. He had the extra ramps and plastic pieces to prevent the front lip and rear bumper from scraping. If you are in need of a tow use these guys and request for sonny

Our battery died on the southbound side of I-81, at the Text Stop just north of exit 39, where we’d pulled off to eat lunch on our way home to NYC from the Thousand Islands for the Memorial Day weekend. Our car wouldn’t start and the indicator lights were flashing all sorts of ominous messages about the braking system not working. Nothing was open in town and we were concerned as to how we’d get home. We called AAA and it was KEITH TO THE RESCUE! He showed up maybe 20 min later, and diagnosed that it was just the battery. He gave us a jump and a few minutes later we were on our way again, and arrived home later that evening without further incident. Yay, AAA; and THANK YOU, Keith!

Like many others have said, I found myself in the middle of I-81 with a flat tire. S & R was dispatched by my roadside assistance. I spoke to Keith within minutes of my request. He was super friendly, knowledgeable, and reassuring. Within a few minutes one of their trucks arrived, a few moments later the guy we needed was also on scene. In the blink of an eye they had us up and running again. I called shortly after to see if they had tires in my size but unfortunately they did not. Even though they couldn’t sell me tires they directed me to someone who could. Overall this group of people could not be better. Everyone I spoke to, from the owner to the receptionist, were freaking awesome. Thank you S & R!!!

We are Senior, Senior citizens. When we were stuck in the snow in a very inconvenient location, S & R came through for us. The gentlemen who came were so polite and caring about our situation. I can’t say enough about them and their service.

Well I may have made a bad decision driving down and very deep and snowy minimum maintenance road and I gotta say, I couldn’t have gotten out without S n Rs help! I couldn’t have appreciated it more and the service was incredible, like I said I couldn’t have done it without their help so I’m deeply appreciative of their service! Deeply recommend and if you need a tow give them a call!

Like a lot of the other reviews, Keith saved my day too! I got a flat in the middle of my 8.5 hr drive home after working hours in terrible weather and Keith was kind enough to come out and swap it for the donut efficiently and carefully. He was so nice, despite the rain and far drive, and informative about my options, and even let me know my tire health (not great!). His dog is also adorable!

INCREDIBLE service. As a Canadian tourist driving through Upstate New York, the parking brake seized on my camper van, creating a dangerous and scary situation on I81. S&R arrived in 20 minutes to tow me to their garage in Mannsville, diagnosed the problem quickly, removed the broken brake parts and sent me on my way, to my amazement, in an hour. I was completely at their mercy and ready to be taken advantage of. But just the opposite happened: the tow truck driver, mechanics and staff were very kind and efficient and for all of the above, charged me an extremely reasonable fee. These are good people. THANK YOU S&R!!

While on our way to Lake Placid for a family vacation, we ran over a nail and got a flat tire. We looked for the closest shop and found S & R. Not only did they come and tow us, but the owner came and picked us up in her personal vehicle. They were very nice, and beyond reasonable. I definitely recommend them and can't say enough good things about them

Great service! Keith was sent by AAA to change a flat tire. He then called ahead to his nearby shop where they fixed the tire while we waited. Highly recommend!

My car broke down on 81S on a Friday night. S&R called me within 15 minutes and tow truck arrived within the hour. Dispatch called a hotel nearby to ensure they had a room, and the truck driver went to the lobby with me to double check the availability. They called me in the morning with an estimate, sent someone to get the part, and repaired my car first thing on Saturday since I was from out of town. Then they had someone pick me up and take me to their location and even texted the next day to make sure everything was OK. I just can't thank Keith and everyone at S&R enough. Highly recommend.

Saved the day! What an amazing group! Got a flat on my way to Watertown from Syracuse. Pulled off the highway and had no clue where I was. A call to AAA and S&R was there to help in a jiffy! They were clearly busy, but knew I was in a jam and got me in and out super fast! On top of that, couldn't beat the price! I would recommend this operation to anyone! Thanks S&R!! I owe you one!!

I was out of town, so I had my daughter take my car in for inspection. One of the mechanics accidentally hit a PC equipment next to my car and put a small dent in the door. The shop immediately notified my daughter of what happened then they called a repair shop in Watertown (Luke Laselle Northern PDR) And made arrangements for him to fix my car @ no charge to me. Not only was my car fixed promptly, but the customer service from both parties was outstanding. Most garages would’ve never said a word about the dent in the car. Then S&R Refused to allow me to pay for my car inspection, It was all done 100% courtesy. this garage has earned my business for a lifetime with their honesty and respect for others. Highly recommend.

Got my truck stuck in a mud hole off-roading, these guys took their truck as far down the trail as they could and hiked the rest of the way. Wasted no time when they got to us. They were determined to get us unstuck in the cold and dark. A recovery like that could have taken all night, but not for these guys. Then after all that they charged so little I felt like I was robbing them. Excellent service.

Our only car snapped a ball joint just hours before my husband had to be at work. S&R came and towed the car, got the part and had us back on the road in record time. They could have taken advantage of our situation and charged anything but the bill was very reasonable and the work was excellent. We will never go anywhere else.

We were involved in a single vehicle accident and our car was totaled and later towed away by S&R. In the chaos of the moment I did not retrieve all of our personal items from our vehicle, and later was unable to visit S&R to retrieve them due to our travel commitments, and we later returned to our residence in Canada. I had several conversations with S&R's staff afterwards about the items, and they went above and far beyond my expectations. This included digging through 4 feet of snow to unbury my totaled vehicle to search for my items, taking photographs of them for me, and later shipping them to me themselves. I am beyond grateful. They then followed up via text to make sure everything turned out OK. Wonderful people and company to work with.

This used to be a good place to take your vehicle, but the lack of communication amongst there staff leaves a lot to be desired. Brought a vehicle in to have work done, with all the parts that were to be replaced or fixed. We had discussed several times what was gonna be done and where the parts would be. Went to pick up my vehicle and was told a crazy number. But thought they would explain to me what the charges were. We paid and took our vehicle home to find that all the parts were still in the rear of the vehicle and some of the things that were supposed to be done weren't even touched. So now we have paid for the parts TWICE due to the lack of communication. They even have a sign that says they charge more per hour if you bring your own parts, so I know that they would have if it had been communicated to all the staff. Not happy 😒 won't be going back. My dad said after this he won't be going back there again either!

Wanted to love them. Had a ton of work done on two vehicles. Watch your invoices! $50 an hour for labor which I expected however they will take advantage of you by way over charging for parts! I priced parts on my invoice and wasn’t pleased. Then had an estimate done and it was very high. Asked about the parts price and it was over $400. Asked if I could buy my own part. After I purchased my own part labor should have been just over $150. I purchased the part for $150 and then was charged around $265 for labor so they still snuck in the extra! Have an issue with a repair. They had text me so I sent a video showing it wasn’t done correctly. They then ghosted me! I have yet to find a really good and honest auto garage. I was hopeful with this one however in the end they disappointed me. Stop taking advantage of people S&R! You lose trust and customers in the end!

Keith was very friendly and wanted to help right away. He dispatched (I believe Rick) the tow truck was there very shortly after. The price for that tow was very fair! I am very very pleased with everyone. Rick was so friendly and caring, he said he wouldn't leave until our ride got there as there was only room for 1 person in the tow truck and three of us. Thank you all so much for your patience with me not knowing exactly where I was and most of all for your kindness.
