I went to bring my saturn to automotive technologies in herkimer and I passed their entrance the tow dolly i had, had proble.s with it making it so I couldn't turn around so I had to take the saturn off the dolly I called Automotive Technologies up and told them where I was right down the road from them and matt the manager (owner) said his driver was off that day and he came and picked up the saturn and didnt charge me to pick it up! VERY nice people there I will always bring my scrap and any junk vehicle there any day thats going to be my new place to go to for scrap!

August 30- The gentleman (Patrick, Art, Brandon)at the small scrap area have been terrific at helping me get metals separated and getting the money due to me.
They've educated me and told me some ways to maximize separation, especially if the insulated wire.

I told them I'd never been there before. All the told me was dump your stuff in that pile, reweigh your car. They never said where to go to get paid. In all would have been nice to know separate the metals, reweigh after you dump each type of metal. They should tell you which pile takes what. I had very little info and I feel as if they just didn't want to pay what the items were worth. Esp when I took a 30+ yr old shop light that weighed about 25#...because they didn't ask what I had and told me nothing (where to drop it, etc)they tried to give me $2!!. They need to inform people better.
Had a car picked up by the tow truck driver paul today and he did an amazing job hardly tore the yard up and got it out on a timely manner highly suggest going to these guys for all your scrap metal needs.
The workers at the small scale were very helpful today they told me that It would be better for me to disassemble some of my scrap I really appreciate the honesty of your employees Thank You
Matt is one hell of ah guy and easy to do business with. I don't have to wait 1-5 days to get paid like at other scrapyards. I'll travel the extra distance to get what my material is worth. 5 stars for sure!
The yard guys are some great Gentlemen! I don't know much about cars , every question I ask was answered correctly most of all i want to say ! The yard workers work hard and keep passing along the kindness! I will definitely be back! 5 star service
Mohawk Valley Recycling company has bent over backwards with their assistance. We had three vehicles to remove and they were very helpful in the removal of the vehicles. We also were removing alot of scrap metal from our property and they walked the property with us and let us know the different grades of steel and the prices for them. My husband (now retired) had a lot of rotors and brakes, engine block, etc from his tractor trailer and they told him what to sort out to get a better price. My husband used to haul salvage and he said he was very impressed with the organization and cleanliness of the yard. Great company to work with!
This deserves a 0 star but it won't allow me to post without at least 1 star.
They are awful to bring vehicles to....the new people they have working in there are so rude and ignorant. They tell the "boss" what he's going to tell the customer. I could go into specific detail but it would make too long of a post, but our experience there yesterday was the worst treatment we've ever had going there(we've gone there for years even before the new name) and will NOT go back anymore, I'd rather travel to Utica or Albany to take my junk back than deal with those people there.
Has potential to be an awsome yard, prices are comparable to other places, yard is super muddy tight quarters if you have a big trailer , if going to the small scale watch what they are trying to classify your items as .they got me for brass. Had clean mixed yellow red brass wasn't alot of weight but it all matters in my world. Gave me dirty I didn't realize it untill I had left and was at my next destination. I don't like there scales don't give you a weight outside so you see what your weight is entering the scale and end weight when your done. And same with the small scale building I want to see my weight when we put it on the scale. The small scale guys will also have you use the big scale for batteries. I have maybe 10 batteries and they said take it over the big scale. Why? I'm taking the batteries to the small scale for a reason.the guy in the small scale room can buck up and weigh my batteries on the small scale then move them to the pallet stop being lazy. Weigh my shit on the small scale. I'm gonna give the yard a break for a while and go back to my old yard. And try it again in the spring. Good yard but needs to work on some fine tuning of certain things. . EDIT/update I have returned to the scarp yard and discussed my concerns with the small scale guys and I understand where I misunderstood some of the ways they take some material compared to other yards.they have always been helpful to me at the old building in Marcy and I will continue to bring material to this yard. In the future
They are all good people and Friendly people to deal with. I trust them with all my scrap and other business that I do with. Them reliable people trustworthy people I would go to them all day best place to go and get rid of your car your scrap metal anything metal wise you can get rid of I'd recommend to everybody to stop by and check them out they're really decent people
Had a problem that needed a forklift to fix... called and spoke with Caroline who said come on over, we've got ppl that can help...showed up and before I even got parked... had Matt already there with the forklift... they got me fixed right up in no time! Customer service as well as knowledge both 5 's... Thx again... neat and clean and from one former scrap guy to another, I highly recommend!
Had a truck I needed to have removed, called Mohawk Valley Recycling, was a great experience from the 1st call right through receiving payment. They sent Sergio to pick it up, he was not only knowledgeable, professional, and friendly but really cared about the fact that I "loved" that old beat up truck! Best driver ever! Great company, great employees!
By far the best scrap recycling yard that I have been to. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. The yard is maintained and organized. All adding up to a very pleasant scrap recycling experience.
