I don't know how this "hotel" has 3.9 stars. It's absolutely awful. Here's an incomplete list of the reasons why we strongly recommend you never stay here.
The walls are so thin you can hear someone snoring next door.
You can hear every footstep of the annoying loud hockey families above you.
They only put one towel in the room. The front desk lady was rude and yelled when we asked for another towel.
No chair in the room, but a huge empty space where there should be one.
Heater automatically turns off constantly.
They don't shovel their sidewalks.
The hallways smell.
The elevator gets stuck.
The door keys stopped working.
The breakfast is microwaved crap.
And this was all in a 3 night stay.
It's billed as an affordable option but is certainly not worth $120/night. More like $50/night.Feb 10, 2026 -
I was supposed to stay at this hotel from December 16 to 19th but I had to check out on the 18th, early in the morning at 6am because I had food poisoning from the pancake machine.
When I checked out, I told the lady at the from desk that I have severe diarrhea all night and the only thing I ate at the hotel was the pancakes. I don't think the pancake machine was properly cleaned. Her response was that her son had the pancakes and nothing happened to him, and she offered no apologies whatsoever.

Great location for our hockey tournament. Pool was a good size for our young team and a nice fitness room. Breakfast was delicious and changed up daily. Nice large breakfast seating that we used for playing games at night too. One of our favorite hotels so far.
I took a star off because our room never got very cool and we had to buy a fan at Target across the street. Also, the beds were very firm which I found uncomfortable but others liked.Jan 04, 2026 -

The location was perfect for our week here, but I am definitely looking forward to going home to clean, fresh air every night. The minute you walk into this hotel you’re blasted with the smell of some sort of perfume or air freshener. Once you step out of the elevator, you realize why: The whole building smells strongly of weed.
I thought maybe it would dissipate, that this was residual of the person who was in the area or this room before us, but no, that was not the case at all. We have been here for 5 nights and every day I wake up with my mouth tasting like I smoked the night before. It literally smells like someone is actively smoking pot in this room (and trust me, we are not).
On top of that, at breakfast every day the staff use strong, bleach-based cleaners everywhere while people are eating. I’m all about a clean space, but it was so much and so potent that I could taste it with my food. Yuck.
So if you’re sensitive to smells or smoke, this is not the place for you. But like I said - the location was convenient for us for our trip, so there’s that.Dec 09, 2025 -

Rooms and Hotel was recently updated. Clean and comfy.

If you choose Holiday Inn Express because they are updated, clean and comfortable you WILL be disappointed. This hotel was awful. The shower was dirty and moldy and the sink was backed up. The toilet handle was attached upside down and it was just generally a mess. The walls are so thin we could hear the next door conversation and snoring. The staff had zero customer service skills and the lobby was not very clean, had an odd smell and is pretty run down. I will never stay here again and it makes me doubt Holiday Inn Express in general when it used to be one of my favorites.

The staff in the morning was very unfriendly. Our TV broke the evening prior or checkout when we went to report it we didn’t even get as much as I’m sorry. The rooms as far as comfortability is mediocre the pool is nice. The breakfast is mediocre.

Great pool, gym is usable but space is not used the best. Minimal but like I said if you want to work out you can, but space is confined. The staff is very to themselves , not much on conversation and general " how are you and your stays" or "good mornings" or "good afternoon noon hope you had a great days". But sometimes quiet is good too.

!!! HAD THE WORST EXPERIENCE AT THE MORNING BUFFET !!!
I was leading a small student group from Asia, and while the front desk staff during check-in and at night were helpful, the morning buffet experience was absolutely unacceptable.
The woman who appeared to be in charge of the buffet was yelling, slamming things in the back, and displaying a shockingly hostile attitude toward our kids — all because two ten-year-old boys accidentally misplaced the serving tongs. This is a normal, harmless mistake that happens at buffets everywhere, but instead of calmly addressing it, she decided to make a scene and ruin the atmosphere for everyone.
When I confronted her about her behavior, she didn’t apologize — she doubled down and expressed that my kids were the problems. That is an outrageous thing to say to paying guests, especially children. Her conduct was extremely rude, unprofessional, and completely out of line with what Holiday Inn claims to stand for.
We chose Holiday Inn because it’s part of a large, well-known international brand, and we expected a standard of courtesy and hospitality. Instead, we were met with hostility and disrespect.
I expect Holiday Inn management to address this immediately and ensure that no other guests — especially children — are treated this way in the future!!!!Aug 12, 2025 -
Nice experience overall. The staff was friendly and breakfast was awesome. The rooms are a little older, but the stay was still worth it. Great hotel when visiting Buffalo and Niagara Falls.

Very good stay. The room was immaculate and very new. Beds very comfortable. The breakfast was a bit crowded on a Saturday morning at 9am. You can hear the muffled sounds of flights taking off from the airport in the morning but that did not bother me. The area has many restaurant choices nearby.

I booked a room with a King bed and a sofa bed, stating there would be four people staying. When I arrived, I was literally handed bedding sheet at the reception. It turned out the sofa bed was not equipped with anything for bedding! I had to ask for a pillow, and was told there was none. Seriously, the whole hotel could not offer a single pillow, despite the parking lot was almost empty and most rooms were vacant.
I stayed for two days, and asked for a pillow each day. I was told I would get one but never did. Very unprofessional and disappointing.
Breakfast is free but there is no milk. No juice because the machine was broken, for two days at least. (That is the whole duration of my stay.) And once bacon is gone, it is gone forever. You have to get up early for a piece of bacon! No kidding.
The sound isolation is very bad. I could clearly hear the chat from the next room.
Staff is unprofessional (how could they not prepare a pillow when my booking clearly stated there would be four people?!) and non-empathetic (no pillow was offered during my entire stay, despite my numerous asks). And unfriendly. (I asked for a late check-out and was told I had to ask on the checkout day. So I did that on the day and the staff immediately said she did not know, and then asked someone for just two seconds, and told me I could only get one hour. They did not even bother checking my elite membership with IHG!!!)
I will never stay at this hotel. The price is much higher than some other near-by non-IHG ones. And looking at the breakfast, this is among the worst of all the IHGs I have stayed in (two dozens at least).Jul 23, 2025 -
The employees were extremely polite and friendly. The breakfast was good. The room was nice however we had these little tiny bugs in our bathroom by the toilet and nothing was resolved after four days there they were still there and the manager never contacted me as I had requested. We are long-term members With Them and I was very disappointed for the first time after 10 years of doing business with IHG.

A decent hotel to book. Closer to the airport but about 30-40 mins from the falls. The breakfast spread was great, too many options to choose from. Staff was courteous.

Last year I forgot one of my bags on there property. The staff worker found it and I specifically asked what was inside and the manager worker receptionist 100% confirmed that there was a specified amount of cash in it, than I received the package and bag with absolutely no cash in it. They 100% stole it. The UPS store sent us full CCTV footage that shows the staff member at this Holiday INN reaching and putting there hand deep into the pocket and clearly grabbing something and hiding it inside there fist seconds before the bag is put into a special ups package for shipment. Absolutely shocking unbelievable! Absolutely disgusting. They are good conartists liars and thieves especially management. The manager emails me with a bluff that supposedly he would never let his staff be accused of thievery but I have proof that indeed they stole $240 cash. Do not stay at this holiday inn.

Stayed here on May 16, 2025. This Holiday Inn Express does not live up to the IHG standard. The room still had food dirt from a previous guest in the middle of the carpet, the bathroom was visibly dirty, and the staff all appeared unmotivated, unhappy, and bothered by the presence of guests. While we generally enjoy staying at IHG hotels, we won't be going back to this location.

One of the best hotels we have stayed in. Staff was super friendly and accommodating. They have baby cribs if needed. The rooms were super clean and spacious. They provide body wash, shampoo and conditioner. They have a pool that was super clean and warm. They have a wide selection for breakfast. Definitely a hotel I recommend and will be back.

We stayed here because as apart of the Pepsi hockey tournament we're forced to pick from their list of hotels and this was one of them. We got charged a higher rate than the avg night. Half our group was checked in up to 2 hours late and never once were apologized to for the inconvenience. Our room had a horrible chemical smell the entire time. One of the staff members was bold enough to literally yell at our team manager at 10 am on the dot (who just got done with a 7 am game) to get up and leave the breakfast area because they "needed to clean up and breakfast is done!" she was very vocally rude about it and there were about 30 other adults in that lobby so I hope they're aware of how horribly managed this place is and won't return as well. We moved outside because of the "no knee hockey" rule.... we're then told we're being too loud outside at 8 pm? I don't think these hotels would even be half full if it weren't for these tournaments. everything seemed to be an inconvenience including us using the PUBLIC COMMON AREAS TO EAT OUR MEALS and correct me if I'm wrong are you NOT in the hospitality business???? Never again will we return to this hotel for any tournament of any kind.

When showed up, the front desk was chaotic. The lady checking us in was complaining about some of the customers in front of other customers, our names were entered incorrectly in the computer and they almost couldn’t find our room. Then when we got to our room (mind you they said it was ready) the floors needed vacuuming and the furniture needed straightening up. I went to the front desk and asked if we could get it cleaned and she said I’d have to wait. I can be patient, but you literally just told me my room was ready and it Clearly was not. Thankfully a nice cleaning lady in the hallway came and fixed up our room for us anyway. Needless to say the lack of professionalism in the night team and cleanliness is why I might not return.

This hotel was assigned to us by Hockey Time Productions as part of the stay-to-play hockey tournament. With that being said, yes, typically sports groups are a rowdy bunch. We are still paying customers (and we pay a higher nightly rate than a traditional customer at that) and should be treated as such. If you are exploring this hotel as an option for a sports related event, I would take your business elsewhere. The staff were completely intolerant to any noise or movement our kids made. They’re 10, and given that every hotel this side of the meridian line has banned knee hockey in the conference rooms, they’re going to be roaming the hallways. Staff gave the parents a hard time for hanging out in the lobby and were downright rude; they were complaining about us in common areas when they did not think we could hear, in front of other customers. I felt very unwelcome.
With that being said: here’s the nitty gritty of the hotel basics:
Breakfast was included and typical of hotel breakfasts. No real complaints, neither I nor my family are picky eaters.
The hotel was being renovated while I stayed here. The construction workers were living in the hotel while they worked, and the smell of weed was very prevalent. I guess this one is subjective, either you don’t mind the smell of pot or you do. For me it was a negative.
My room happened to be one of the ones newly renovated, it was clean and the bed was fine.
I had a room that connected to another one, there were people staying the the room adjacent that were not part of my hockey party. I could hear every single noise they made. To the guy that stayed in room 425: you might want to get that checked out, it sounded like a real problem.
Location was great. Easy access to the freeway and lots of shopping and food options nearby.
Overall, I would pass if I came to the area again, even if I wasn’t in a sports group. I’d like the staff to receive some sort of hospitality training.Feb 09, 2025 -
Hotel is really unclean and staff very unpleasant. Parking lot icy for three days with broken glass several areas. Everywhere smells like bleach or sewer. Vacuums must be forbidden here. Staff are nasty, not friendly, unhelpful and more concerned about talking to each other than recognizing your standing in front of them. Room not clean garbage under bed not vacuumed, toilet seat not wiped down. Take a look at what I looked at and smelled for three days straight.

Two strong negatives. The common areas had a very strong floral smell - way too strong to be pleasant. Some cleaning product or air freshener, perhaps. I tend to asthma - if the room had smelled like this I would have had to change motels.
Second, the tile areas in the bedroom were sticky. The common areas were fine. I don't think this was dirt, but rather the cleaning product was not properly rinsed off. It was most unpleasant to walk on.

Came here with a party of 4. I loved this hotel. The staff are super friendly and awesome. Very direct and are always ready to help. Was a little worried about the reviews but we had a great time here. Beds super awesome, the bathroom was nice and clean. I don’t think there was a vent in there?
We had the hotel breakfast which had the automatic pancake machine, bagels, toast, egg omelettes and so much more.

This is a dated building which we waited until 4:30pm to check-in as apparently they had a busy night before. We first stopped by 2:40pm after a long drive (before 3pm check-in) was told to come back at 3pm. We returned about 3:10pm where we were told our room wasn’t ready, told to come back at 4pm and we asked for another room to no avail. Returned about 4:05pm, room was ready and told we had to pay a room key deposit to ensure we returned key cards (never in 30 years ever had to do this).
The large room was filthy (stained carpets, hair all over washroom), no soaps, seemed like furniture was missing (no coffee table, no end tables). Went to front desk to complain, was told room was clean with manager signing off, large rooms aren’t fully furnished, all soaps are in shower locked (have to use those dispensers to wash hands) and there are no available rooms to move us too. We were tired & needed a place to rest. Next morning we spoke with other patrons who had the same experience as we had. There were only a few cars in parking lot, not many people staying there and there should have been a clean room for us to move too. When we checked out I asked for our room key deposit was told it’ll take up to 5 days for a refund and we complained again about our room which we were ignored (almost like they wanted us to leave).
We will never return to this Holiday Inn location and strongly suggest people go somewhere else.
We have been long term Red Roof Inn patrons, wanted something like a Holiday Inn as a step up and this location was a definitely a disappointment. Shame on Holiday Inn.
We will go back to our old standby Red Roof Inn as they are always clean, friendly and will do anything to make your stay an enjoyable one.Jun 18, 2024
