I went to this place for the first time. There is an old time Irish pub type atmosphere which may make some drive on passed; however, the food was amazing. I highly recommend this restaurant. The only reason why i didn't give it 5-stars is because it took a long time to get the food, and it appeared that all other diners were in the same boat. With that being said, it's a bar so have some drinks and talk with friends while you are waiting.
They packed the tables too tightly i was touching chairs of the person at the table behind me. My server never once asked me if I wanted another soda. The filet minon was very fatty and tough to chew. The service was very slow took a very long time for food to arrive not very happy on this valentine's day.
We went there for lunch and this place was amazing. The food was beyond awesome. But, not only that, the manager, Maura was absolutely unreal. Not only was she the hostess, she was also the waitress, busboy, and bartender. And she did it with a smile. I would recommend this place to anyone. We will be going back on a weekly basis. Thank you again for a beautiful afternoon.
Stopped here on a Tuesday night because it was recommended by Jim at Elk Ravine Farms. The service was wonderful. The restaurant is so cute and cozy. Large cocktail list. Food was delicious and had huge portions! Overall great experience. A very family friendly place. One side has the restaurant and the other is the pub that are connected.
We got steaks (which were amazing) a Shepards pie, the pulled pork Mac n cheese, some drinks and dessert. Left feeling very full, happy and cared for.
Thank you to our sweet server Danielle! She was attentive while still taking care of give or take 5 other tables. Very kind and great hospitality.
Iron Furnace is nestled away from your busy strip malls. It is under a new owner. Prior and today the food, service remains excellent. Casual atmosphere, there is a tap room separate from the dining room. It is best to reserve a table to be on the safe side and it is certainly a must on weekends. You can not go wrong for good food that is modestly priced.
We sat at the bar and had a most delicious garden salad topped with perfectly cooked grilled salmon. Everything including our service was beyond our expectations. Thank you Iron Furnace for a taste of old time charm and comfort.
Ordered takeout, they said 30 minutes. Got there in 30. They took my money then said 5 more minutes. 20 minutes later was on my way. Caesar salad dressing not edible tasted like rancid fish. Spinach artichoke dip tasty, but not really dip, served with crackers. Chicken dish ok, pasta primavera ok. Just ok
Me and my family went here for my mom’s birthday last night. I will say it was busy, but oh my god, the service was horrible.
We waited a half hour before the waitress brought our first round of drinks and took our dinner order. Another 45 minutes passed before she came back to check on our table, and only at this point did she ask if we wanted bread, which we did as we were starving. I had to stop her because she went to walk away, while we all had empty drinks. She brought out the drinks and bread, but no side plates.
A little after that our “appetizers” came out, which was only 2 salads and a French onion soup. (So… it took an hour and a half… to get a soup and salads????) Another half hour passes and we finally get our entrees, and the tomahawk pork chop was stone cold. The steaks however were hot. My dad didn’t touch his as it was cold, the waitress didn’t ask if there was a reason. At that point it was so late, over 2 hours we’ve been there now and just wanted to go home, so we didn’t get dessert for my mom’s birthday. Not that the waitress asked if we wanted any, nor did she spend more than a total of 2 minutes speaking to our table to even know that it was my moms birthday.
The girl with the brown curly hair, while I could tell there was still issues with the kitchen and her tables, we could see she was attentive with her tables and apologetic. Our waitress however seemed too busy talking to the bartender to care or offer more than a mumbled half hearted apology, only after seeing how frustrated we were.
The food however, was fantastic. I really hope you get the service issues in order because it’s a real shame to have such amazing quality food paired with such horrible service.
We have been to the iron furnace many times and always have been satisfied. However this time my husband ordered his steak medium rare and when he got it, it was well done. His sweet potato fries were well done also. I have to have no garlic in my food. I am allergic. Every potato and side has garlic in it. I was not impressed and don’t know if I will go back.
The food was great. Everyone really liked everything we ordered. Our only problem was that we sat for most of our meal waiting on drink refills. 2 at our table managed to get 1 refill but my daughter had to finish the last half of her meal without anything to drink. Was told by the waitress she would be right back and get it. Never happened. By the time she made it back we had all been finished for over 10 minutes. We just asked for the check so we could finally wash down the last of our meals with drinks we had in the car. There's only 7 tables to serve on the restaurant side so keeping customers glasses filled shouldn't be an issue. I would love to try other items from their menu but I would definitely hesitate to stop when the parking lot is full. With a $170 bill I expect the service to be held to the same standard as the food.

Even last night! We were in Rhineback, and we had a horrible experience with the waitress, and we walked out of the restaurant! And anyone who knows us knows it takes a lot to get us upset.
As we're getting back into millbrook area, we look at each other and both said, " I'm hungry" lol. The first thing that came out of our mouth was, "let's order from iron furnace."
Last night I got the salmon stuffed w/ spinach & crab meat w/ a hollandaise sauce and my wife got the egged fried chicken with a chipotle caper sauce. Both were good!
This will sound funny, but their blue cheese dressing is freaking unreal. If you like blue cheese, this is your dressing. You can tell it's not from just a bottle. Great with Salad and well done Wings
The waitresses are nice. They don't care if we have children and they are so sweet and treat us with respect.
My wife and I might actually go again today. Lol .
Went here for the first time for a birthday dinner. Food was great,staff was friendly and the atmosphere was nice. They had live music in the bar area that added to the ambiance.
Steak was cooked perfectly.
The burgers were amazing but the service could be a little better.
My wife and I ordered a couple apps and we each got a burger. One app can out in a timely fashion but the French onion soup I ordered was not. I asked a couple times if it was coming out and was told they were finishing it up and putting the cheese on it. Our burgers came out and I had ordered sweet potato fries but received regular fries. I finished my meal and still did not have my soup so I canceled it and they accommodated and took it off our bill.
The food was delicious. The wings are crispy and coated but not swimming in sauce. The burger was a big ball of delicious meat (yes the local meat matters!). My wife got the po boy and was so big we took home half. The onion rings are lightly coated not breaded. The sweet potato waffle fries were great in a new style.
Danielle our waitress did an excellent job. It is a small dining room,( so make a reservation). Danielle handled the whole room like a pro. I felt we were served in a timely and sequentially
The prices reflect the quality AND quantity of the food. Can't wait to go back!
Kathy is always happy to serve and always attentive and helpful with menu selections. They have a great selection of beer, wine, and food. Love the happy moose with a huge pint of beer carving in front that welcomes you as you walk in.
My husband and two friends of ours dined at this restaurant last night and thought it was delicious! We had the Irish Chicken Curry and the Shepherd's Pie and both dishes were beautifully flavorful! We will be back!
We loved our first time at this little cute hole in the wall bar/restaurant. The food was exceptional. Great flavors and choices. Loved the live band and the atmosphere of the place. Sadly, they didn’t have filets all night but we look forward to coming back and getting them. We also had pretty terrible service but the girl was young and seemed new so I won’t hold it against her or the place. Everyone has to start somewhere. The special ribeye with Gorgonzola cheese crust and balsamic reduction was chefs kiss top tier and the plate will stacked with food. The steamed clams were amazing with such great details in the flavor with the bread that I soaked up all the juices. Definitely will be back.
The food has consistently been delicious and well portioned. We highly suggest the French Onion soup and Artichoke Spinach dip as appetizers, sooooo good! The only downside of this great eatery is how tight the room is, which makes for a quite noisy atmosphere. We will certainly be coming back many times more in the future!
Love this restaurant. Always have a great meal and excellent service. Very interesting menu and good variety of choices with generous portions. Had their seafood carbanara. Incredible amount of seafood in it.
I really don't say this lightly, this place deserves a Michelin Star. The food is absolutely incredible. I may have had the best steak and best French onion soup and best Ahi Tuna of my life here. The drinks are exceptional.
Very nice. Staff very friendly and the portion size was very generous. O ly downside is it is a bit small...and thus with a crowd..A bit noisy. Definately worth a visit.
Stopped in with family after a funeral around the corner. We just needed a place to hang out and talk for a while. They kindly let us stay even though we were only ordering drinks. The waitress/bartender seemed to be running the whole place and was incredibly friendly and hard working. I will definitely try to come back for a meal when I'm in the area.
Four and a half stars I would give if able, since this was nearly a perfect experience. Cozy interior dining room, which almost looks like someone's home. Friendly waitstaff and delicious American fare. Clean bathroom and unpaved parking outside. However, there is no wi-fi, and the noisy air conditioner directly above the table is less than ideal.
Awesome place!! Friendly staff, great atmosphere. Food was excellent. Prices are very reasonable. I got the fillet, vegetables and sweet potato fries. My boyfriend got the fish special.
I love travel for food and try new places. Found this little gem and it’s definitely my new go to place for lunch and dinner. Their food so good I went to this place 7 times in 5 weeks ???
Everything from appetizers, soups, lunch and dinner specials is amazing. We’re trying to order different things each time we go. Their chefs really know what they are doing in the kitchen, everything just comes out so delicious. No disappointment at all.
Good selections on beers and drinks. Good bar and dining areas. All staffs are very very friendly excellent services. Always leave with full stomach and happy.
Prices are very reasonable for their quality of food. I used to love steak house in NYC. But this place beats it.
