Due to the paid parking feature now, $5.99 for 16 hours, up to 1 day is $10.99, 32 hours $15.99, 2 days $21 I no longer recommend this for people who go here to park. The parking situation itself was very annoying before this paid feature, not its horrible. 3 stars because it still works as a train stop. I would recommend to get dropped off if possible

It bears repeating: parking was free here until a few months ago. Feels like a cash grab from people just trying to commute. The third party vendor they have collecting parking fees is a joke- I received responses days later and the only way to pay is to scan a QR code with your phone and receive a code to link to your ticket, which is not easy in a low reception area. Stressful and stupid experience.

Joke parking lot. Full of potholes and debris. Used to always be free but now you have to pay to park. 0/10 this place sucks absolutely would never recommend

The bridge area to the platforms?? Oh no. What is that mesh ceiling and the stuff in it?

We have been parking at Rhinecliff for 2 years and the station hasn’t started construction so the “station” is still in a trailer. The potholes have gotten so deep our car gets scratches just to get in the lot. They’ve removed parking rather than add given how many people commute through here, and in the places where we try to park, we have gotten tickets. Today, without notice, not only are these issues not fixed but there’s a $11/day fee. There’s nowhere else for us to park nearby - there’s no street parking or other lots so we are forced to pay.

6 dollars a day to park here is absolutely outrageous. Amtrak should be ashamed of themselves. Almost 4 years now, and the train station is still locked up with zero renovations. Utter joke.

It is a disgrace that besides the rundown train station (that is supposedly being remodeled but has yet to start after three years), Amtrak doesn't even care to fill in the potholes in the lower parking lot. I had my car suspension break from the deep potholes, especially the ones at the entrance of the short term parking lot.

Employees beleaguered, sad, listless. Parking is lawless and far below capacity. Facilities endlessly being repaired. Random enforcement of parking without notice, charging you $225 to get your car back, from a random tow place 20 mins away. nth example of new york state falling behind america and the world with failing infrastructure, demoralized work force, and corrupt business practices.

Convenient local train station with Amtrak service to NYC, Albany & beyond. Station is under prolonged renovation with need for improvement. Basic services including ticket purchasing, parking, bathrooms and small indoor seating area are still available. Recommended but there is an alternate station about 30 mins south in Poughkeepsie for MTA train service to Grand Central in NYC.

I usually avoid Amtrak at all costs when catching a New York City plane departure. However, I chose to take the train from Rhinecliff. This station is usually quite peaceful and nice but there is construction happening now and there is only seating outside and in the “foyer” area to the platform. A little note. If traveling to NYC try to book a train that originates from Albany. They are more on time than the trains originating from Niagara Falls (#280). Those with mobility issues will find it to difficult to board and disembark the train. The view is beautiful from the platform but is bitter cold in the winter months. Parking is limited so drop-off is best.

There's an Amtrak employee here, that was AMAZING! What a kind, helpful, warm, friendly, compassionate, professional, beautiful individual, worthy of not just a raise, but if I was able I'd give him a commendation. Along with the rest of the Amtrak staff I'll be mentioning in another review. Andy, is an individual that is genuinely nice & caring. Amtrak made a GREAT choice in hiring him. If you knew the details of the journey my sister & I have went through, and to meet another kind hearted individual along the way is always a beautiful thing. So, thanks to Amtrak & Andy at the Rhinecliff Station. AWESOME!!! *Please Note: There are no pictures only because I was soooo exhausted & worn from over 30 hours traveling from GA to NY

I like this station and use it weekly. It needs a renovation, but thankfully it is getting one complete with a raised platform in 2023. The lighting could be better in the parking lots. I suggest you bring a flashlight for safety at night/early-hour arrivals/departures.

A lovely station right on the water. Looks like a nice peaceful location for sure

It was the Train station where amtrak is located. Under renovation but was able to get my ticket from temporary kiosk located right in the parking lot.

Nice older station situated on the Hudson River about a 10 minute drive from the town of Rhinebeck and 30 minute drive to the town of Kingston across the river. It is a simple two platform set up. A bit of a height difference exists between the train and the platform itself but Amtrak staff assists.

The Rhinecliff Amtrak station is about as good as you will find in older rural areas. The supporting buildings and main lobby could use a major makeover. We have traveled through this station in all four seasons and have never had any big problems. Plenty of long term parking but hardly any spaces for waiting on people you are picking up. Platform for departures and arrivals is open air.

Very old and historical. Honesty station spooks you out. And just being around lake katrine and seeing the view it's just breathless

The station is not handicap accessible and badly in need of renovation.

Bird droppings all over steps into station...on chemo could get very sick from that, railings rusting off on steps to train. Pigeons all over, railings have droppings, parking not too good.

Great staff. Beautiful views. Only lost a star because the bathroom seriously needs updating.

I've been using Amtrak out of necessity for the past 15 years. After I got stranded on a train on Thanksgiving in 2018 for more than 10 hours the company didn't make any sort of reparations. We were offered a little bag with a couple crackers in it and 6 flluid oz. of water... after sitting for 10 hours. 10; all the while being told we were going to be leaving in 10 minutes. Despite clearly being screwed over by Amtrak they still had horrible customer service. Your train will be delayed and there's nothing you can do about it. Worst yet the customer service is horrendous and will leave you feeling like you have no voice. It's all fine and dandy though- they do have a monopoly on the rails; which is a shame because train travel used to be a solid option. Go elsewhere if you can; Amtrak is the worst form of transportation around.

Beautiful Amtrak station in a scenic area, historic interior. Stairs to the platform could use some work, though

If you need to be somewhere other than Rhinebeck this is the place for you
