This shop was recommended to me by a friend as honest and competent, and did not disappoint. Turns out we did not need a new transmission, or some huge repair. They had our van in and out in a day at a very fair price. The shop was immaculate, and the staff very friendly. I would absolutely recommend this shop.
If you’re like me and you’re a woman who knows absolutely nothing about cars and is anxious to get work done, you can absolutely feel comfortable taking your vehicle to Transtek. The people there are so honest and never over-charge or recommend work that doesn’t need to be done. I always feel happy and have my expectations exceeded when I bring my car to transtek to get work done!

Needed a new transmission at 250,000 miles
Brought it in. They diagnosed and repaired the transmission in a short amount of time. New transmission works perfectly.
After the transmission was replaced it started leaking. I brought it back. They repaired the problem with no questions asked.
About a week later o received a call from Bob and he explained that he researched why it leaked in the first place He scouted chat boards he is a part of and found an issue where the transmission filter yoke get clogged up with gunk and messes things up and would’ve made the new transmission fail when it couldn’t get fresh fluid. He repaired the issue and works amazingly now.
The service was stellar and the after care was even better. They’re the highest matted transmission shop in the area for a reason. I hope I never need a rebuild on any transmissions again. And if I do. They’re who I’m going to use.

I have only used this service once but was impressed by the knowledgeable and professional service. And kudos to Paul. He’s an honest man. I have since my last posting returned to have my transmission serviced and am still very satisfied with the service. Have repeatedly taken my vehicles back to have service with good results. I will continue to update my service experience periodically. At this time very satisfied.12/04/24 still using Trans Tek and highly recommend this shop. Transtek has serviced my cars for about 20 years. I think the technical service is top notch. I would not dream of going anywhere else. Additionally, Bob gets to know you personally and develops a keen sense of your personal preferences. He is patient when explaining things. He is also very comfortable discussing anything, especially your customer options such as which set of tires to purchase or deciding whether to let a repair slide for a few months. I always appreciate his honest answers.

Excellent service every time. We’ve been coming to Trans Tek for 20+ years now and wouldn’t trust anyone else with our cars for work. They are honest and truthful. We found Trans Tek 20+ years ago when a dealer told us our Tahoe needed transmission work. We took it to Trans Tek ( when they were in a small garage on the Main Street in Hyde Park) and it ended up only being the fuel filler at the bottom of our fuel tank not the transmission. Ever since then, we’ve come to Trans Tek for their honesty. We now live over an hour away and we still come to Trans Tek, we don’t trust anyone else.
We have been taking all of our vehicles to transtek for many years now and have never been disappointed in their service and expertise. The staff is excellent and very professional. You never feel taken advantage of because they explain everything in detail and do not try to upsell you on repairs you don't need. They are a role model shop that others should aspire to! It's very assuring knowing that I always have a place to take my vehicle that I trust completely.
I've been bringing my vehicles to Transtek for about 17 years. Bob and his team are always pleasant, professional, and, most importantly, honest. Everything is always explained in detail. I've never had the feeling that an "up sell" was taking place such as happens at places like Mavis. The workmanship is always top notch and they stand behind their work. We have moved since we first started going to Transtek, and even though we now live about half hour away we still bring our vehicles to Bob and Transtek. That says it all.
My go-to for years now. Staff is always accommodating and professional. Work is done in a timely manner. Everything is well explained. I moved over 20 minutes away (compared to being 2 min away before) and I still come to Transtek.

Took my 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee to Transtek due to having really bad transmission problems. When i got the truck back it drove like BRAND FREAKING NEW!. Bob, and The Transtek team do absolutely AMAZING work!, and if you have problems with your car/truck i would highly recommend going there!. You won't be disappointed.
Called Trans Tek on a Friday afternoon about a rebuild for a 5sp manual Subaru Impreza. Bob was straight forward and honest about options for my specific situation. I dropped off the unit that day, He kept me updated, and about 5 days later the work was done. He gave me a price that was more than fair and even threw in some advice about break-in.

The staff were respectful and to the point, Which I do like from a mechanic shop. At other places, I have been told that I need services for my car that I do not need since I am somewhat car savvy. I do my basic repairs.
The tech and all the people there, we’re very thorough trying to diagnose the transmission problem with my car. I appreciate that they took the next step and the initiative with problem-solving and ended up fixing the problem.
They were candid, respectful, and explained thoroughly what they did. Any car shop is going to be somewhat expensive, but if you truly put in the work, the hard earned money that I have gained, in my opinion, is worth spending on folks who do a great job. This place is that kind of place.
They also do inspections and tires and basic repairs. I will go to them from now on.
I went here to get four new tires, an oil change and alignment on my 2015 Mercedes e400. Everyone I dealt with was knowledgeable and professional and I was kept up to date on the status of the repair. Their tire pricing was competitive with Tirerack and the total cost was significantly less than the local Mercedes dealer charged me for similar services. I also felt the staff at Transtek cared about their work (and me as a customer) more than at other shops or my dealer's service department.
My favorite shop to go to right here!! They never try to sell you extra stuff, only what the car needs, they don't just lie and say a part's bad when it's not. Being a girl going into any shop, I've always felt taken advantage of, but never here!! I first tested the waters with an oil change and since have trusted them with every service on my car!!
