This place is a gem. It’s a rustic inn alongside a bubbling brook. The greenery surrounds you. The rooms have updated bathrooms and comfy beds with a country charm. The inn keepers are warm and helpful. This place would be perfect for an urban escape, writers retreat or anyone needing time in the beautiful countryside.

We stayed here last weekend to visit the many art galleries in the area. Our room was great and the running stream just outside was magical. David and his wife Emily were great hosts and ensured we were comfortable. It was wonderful to converse with David and the other guests. We can’t wait to visit there again

A lovely getaway form bustling Manhattan. Quiet, remote, authentic. We felt the nature all around us, the owners were very welcoming and accommodating, the breakfast basket on our porch (every room has a separate bedroom and a porch) was very charming and tasty.
A really nice, relaxing experience for a city person.
New owners are doing a great job! We had a big group stay here for two nights; David was very flexible with meeting our needs. The fresh blueberry muffins and croissants in the morning were awesome as well!
Enjoyed everything about our stay over a freezing weekend, including the wonderful hospitality of new owner/managers David and Emily; the menagerie; the Dutch baby and muffins at breakfast; and getting to know both old and new owners. It was the perfect location for my daughter and her ski team’s meet at Plattekill Mountain. Highly recommend!
This place is beautiful! Gary is delightful and makes AWESOME breakfast treats! The beds were comfortable and the place was exceptionally clean. The two St Bernards, Henry and Helen were a special treat. Gary even went out of his way to pack our breakfast muffins in a box to take with us, as we were checking out early. I can’t wait to return. Thank you Gary for everything!
This place is beautiful! The brook is right outside your front door. Gary is awesome and his muffins are AMAZING! The 2 St Bernards, Helen and Henry are a special treat. The place was exceptionally clean and the beds were very comfortable. The grounds are very well kept. It was the perfect place to rest and enjoy nature. But most of all… it’s Gary’s attention to detail.
THIS is one of the best finds in the Catskills! The restaurant is nestled in a little pocket in the woods next to a brook. The owner, Gary is alway eager to greet his guests with smiles and appreciation. He is a guarantee for an incredible meal and if you’re lucky, a story from his past!
The Mountain Brook Inn and its host, Gary Simmons, is a gem of a find in the rolling hills of Bovina NY. It's a sweet country inn, with a lovely, loudly babbling brook. Enjoy breakfast baskets of freshly baked goodies..along with Gary's great hospitality. Dinner Saturday nights is divine. We come back again and again.

Having enjoyed our stay in June 2018 we decided to return for a few days in June of 2019. Once again we had a wonderful time surrounded by lovely grounds and served a freshly baked breakfast every morning. Our gracious hosts Gary and Otis (a St. Bernard) made every effort to ensure our stay was restful.||||This time, we made sure to be at the Inn on a Saturday night when Gary cooks his famous dinner for locals and guests. The food was terrific and the eclectic gathering of locals ensured a boisterous time.||We heartedlty reccomend the Mountain Brook Inn as a great escape from every day life.
My husband and I and our Airedale, spent a delightful time at this establishment. Our accommodations were excellent. Great bedroom with a wonderfully comfortable bed, terrific sitting room, complete with table & chairs and the glorious sound of the brook!! The property is nature at its best. Our innkeeper, Gary, more than adds to the experience .... home made delicious muffins in the am and his fabulous, lovable, St Bernard, Otis. The dogs had as much fun as we did. Put this spot on your list!
My wife and I stayed at this wonderful place in June for two nights. What makes the Mountain Brook Inn so special is its owner, Gary who is a wonderful baker and a great host. We enjoyed breakfast each morning outside in lovely surroundings. Gary presented us with a basket containing delicious baked muffins, fresh fruit salad cups and unlimited coffee. ||The grounds of the Mountain Brook Inn are quite lovely with wildflowers and rushing waters. It is a quiet place, not fussy. It is a great place to read a book or.. to write one.||||The accommodations are large and clean with a living room and a separate bed room. Al rooms have excellent Wi-Fi.||||It is also a must to mention Gary's co-host, Otis whose picture I have included.||||Finally, we would like to thank Gary for a wonderful two days and we hope to visit him again soon.
Cozy place, fireplace and a Provence like setting. Dinner was fabulous, mushroom soup, Cornish hen and delicious dessert. Service with a smile, I felt very welcomed
Gary the owner and his dogs where very friendly.It is quiet here with stream nearby. For breakfast, fresh eggs laid by chickens on-site and home baked Croissant, yummy.
If you should ever feel low energy, run to Mountainbrook. The warmth, the atmosphere, the kindness and sincerity are oozing from every part of the place. You will get Authentic people, food and so much more.

Found this place by accident but glad we did. If you are looking for peace and quiet, good food and good company, this is the place. Rooms are clean, beds comfortable.|Plenty of towels and toiletries. Gary the owner is a wonderful host who can't do enough for you. He is attentative to all your needs. His breakfasts are delicious with muffins, croissants, fruit, juice, coffee and he'll even whip up some eggs if you want. We were unable to taste his Saturday evening dinner (last minute) because his seatings were booked but everyone raves about it. No television (fine with me), there is WiFi. Again this is a place to get away and chill. You can't review this place without mentioning Gary's dog Otis the most lovable dog you'll ever meet. He fits right in.|Can't wait to return
The place is magic. The surrounding are beautiful. The suites are very confortable and the beds the best. But what makes the places really special is his owner. Gary is an amazing being that gives his special attention to everything.||His breakfast are great. And Saturday's dinner can't be missed. 10 in all. A place to always come back
There are places that are good for the soul and settle in your heart. This is one of them. The attentive accommodations and quaint setting is restful, peaceful and restoring. Gary is a wonderful host who makes every person feel special and welcomed.
Special place to eat dinner on Saturday nights. You have to call and reserve a table, because there's only a limited number of tables they take per night. Everything is cooked right there in their kitchen. Sometimes you'll even get a visit from their dog!
