THIEVES. the whole company is . I have filed a complaint with better business bureau. Requested roadside assistance through triple an and after 3 HOURS of waiting I was told the extra mileage charge would be $45, by tripleA and the driver multiple times. All of a sudden the driver tells me 1 hour into the tow ( not even off I-90 yet so unable to calculate tolls ) that it was gonna be $150 for “tolls and extra fees” and then refused to drop my truck after I wouldn’t, or couldn’t even pay that . After 1 hour on the phone with triple and dispatcher all at once we caught them in a lie multiple times and as soon as they realized we caught them they dropped my truck and left within 2 minutes ! Triple A defund this business and anyone stuck with a tow PLEASE do not trust this company !
I will give them this, thankfully they didn't damage my car. But dear lord this was an experience. I have a job yes? And I scheduled a tow for 9 am, and they said latest delay would be by an hour. Called my job and told them what was up, said I might be late (work at 10) But thankfully I decided to back down and either use my break to meet the tow guy or have my parents go. Calls go in and out, no sign of the guys. Finally, at 1pm, we get a call. He had ALREADY PICKED UP THE CAR AND DROVE TO THE DESTINATION. and didn't tell us. Mind you, NEITHER of those destinations were our home. And he had accidentally gone to the wrong house, the one next to it. So instead of going in the road to drop off my car at the right house, he drove THROUGH OUR MECHANICS LAWN to drop off my car. He completely decimated his lawn. I wish I never called this company. And I expect you guys to also reimburse and or fix our mechanics lawn. Total lack of literal basic human intelligence. I think a cricket could run a tow company better with ants as tow drivers.
I have so many negative things to say about this company - first of all the number they have listed on they’re sign in Conklin the phone rings once and you get placed on hold for 20/30 mins EVERY TIME. I tried calling for weeks. Second - I finally got a hold of someone and they told me to be at the lot by 3 which I arrived early. At 3:15 the driver still had not arrived so I called. I was told he was a half hour out. I was TOLD to come back at 5. At 5:15 I had to call AGAIN and was treated very poorly by a woman who said the driver was another half hour out. She stated we’re accommodating you because we’re closed but we TOLD TO COME BACK AT 5!!!! I am now stuck waiting here because they don’t have their shit together. Your worker was EXTREMELY rude. Do not every recommend anyone use this company
Unfortunately, I cannot leave zero stars. We had a terrible experience with this company and would never recommend it to anyone.
After 4.5 hours of being lied to “30 more minutes”, “45 more minutes”, “60 minutes”, “they’re 45 minutes out”, they never showed up.

I was just told by towed by a amazing tow truck driver his name is Jay truck 7718 he is amazing and a wonderful person this towing company and believe me anytime I need a tow that is who I want to come and tell me he is an asset to your company
Id give negative stars if i could. Meredith the person who is in charge of the phone is so ABSOLUTELY RUDE. She will yell at you and tell you are wrong and give you the wrong information. So if you like verbal abuse get a tow from them. ABSOLUTELY terrible.
We have been waiting 9 hours for my wife’s car to be towed and they still aren’t here. They have taken calls all day instead of first come first serve basis. I called 45 minutes ago and the driver was literally 8 minutes away from my wife’s car and they still aren’t here. When I called back the woman was incredibly rude and hung up the phone with me. WORST TOW COMPANY IVE EVER EXPERIENCED!! 10 out of 10 would not recommend!!
I had my BMW towed by Val-u towing in Albany and they were Excellent The driver gave me a courtesy call 20 minutes before arriving like I asked, he answered all my questions even talk to me and told me what he was doing as he was loading my car step-by-step. He even showed me how to do the shift lock release in my vehicle to put it in neutral. I rode with him to BMW & one of the cleanest trucks I have ever seen. You can practically eat off the floor and get this. He even had courtesy bottles of waters in the door for customers I couldn’t ask for better service. This company is truly one of the best in the business, I was feeling down about my car breaking down the driver brighten up my day with great conversation, just to put my mind at ease. I would recommend Val-u Towing to everyone, If I could’ve gave them a 10 star, I would have. it blows my mind to see bad reviews, especially knowing what these guys go through on the daily especially with picking our cars up on the highway. It’s a dangerous job, but Val-u Towing keep up the GREAT work you guys ROCK!!!!!!!!!
If it was possible to give zero stars, that's what this company would get. I have a flat tire and used my insurances roadside assistance to request a tow truck to come to my house yesterday. We had bad weather last night, but I put the request in around 5:30pm and was given an ETA of 7:04pm. They never showed up, so I called them around 8pm and was told that all of their tow trucks were dispatched and because of the weather, it would be another hour/hour and a half. I never heard another word from them. Fast forward to this morning, I woke up to 2 missed phone calls - 1 at 11:02pm and the other at 11:05pm. No voicemail. But I looked at my request on my insurance's app and they had the nerve to say the job was completed when they never came out, all because they called while I was sleeping, so it made it look like it was my fault. I called my insurance and spoke to someone who got another towing business involved and this company was out here within 30 minutes (way before their ETA). I thanked the guy for coming out and told him the last company never showed and he guessed it was Val-U Towing. If there is ever a next time I need to be towed, I will make sure it's never with these guys.
Absolutely incompetent and unprepared. Ford roadside assistance hired this company after my wheel fell off due to negligence by the dealer I had JUST purchased the vehicle from. The wheel was not secure to the vehicle, the rotor was sitting on the wheel with it bent 45 degrees. These clowns were going to winch my vehicle onto their flatbed without jacking mine up, taking the wheel off, and using a skid under the rotor. They also didn’t even try to re install the wheel onto the remaining studs with other wheel lugs. I had to kick them off the tow. Had I not been paying attention they would have caused considerably more damage. They didn’t have a jack or tools according to the driver and the other guy in the truck. Which leaves me wondering, where was I supposed to sit while my vehicle was getting towed to a local ford dealer? I was 286 miles from home, was I going to be told to walk there? Not to mention hour and a half wait on an unsafe 6 lane road with many cars due to two intersections 200 yards apart
This company unauthorized and illegally towed my legally parked vehicle. They then charged me $395 to get it back. They are crooks, vultures, and thieves
We had a guy named Christopher who picked us up from an accident. He was a friendly guy, making us feel a lot more relaxed after something so traumatic. Genuinely appreciated him and all the help he gave!
Absolutely terrible experience car was damaged during tow. This could have easily been avoided. Overall complete and utter lack of professional from everyone there in the call center as well as the driver exception for the manager of the claims department. I am currently still awaiting to have the damages fixed that my vehicle received.
Don’t use Val-u towing. They severely damaged my classic truck winching it out of 3” of mud and refused to pay for the damage. They are incompetent and dishonest. The CEO of the company lied to me when I contacted him. They should never be hired.
Worst Towing company! Waited 5 hours and they kept adding 45 mins to the ETA after missing the insurance company's initial ETA of 1-2 hours. Insurance company canceled it after they requested another 60 mins on top of 5 hours.
I hope no one needs their services when facing real unsafe roadside hazards in a stalled vehicle / freezing conditions.
If you have a choice in picking the towing company, stay away from this company!
Called Good Sam to send out a tow truck at approximately 11am. They contract Val-U towing out of Binghamton. 2 hour wait! No truck shows! Calls go back and forth. 7 HOURS Later, the Val-U dispatcher( owner) tells me a truck broke down and another will be sent out of Syracuse. I chuckle at the absurdity of the day. The guy gets offended and says" I don't see what's funny about my truck breaking down" .I reply that it is not a mocking laugh but a laugh of a long crappy day. He replies in frustration and contempt, " I'm going to cancel your tow" . Im taken back but screw it..go ahead. I'm still broken down. Wasted my day with this joke of a business.
Casey came to my rescue! He was friendly and clearly good at his job. Even kicked the snow of his feet before climbing in my already dirty car. Was stressed but I feel much better after he picked up my car.
PROGRESSIVE, PLEASE STOP USING THIS TOW COMPANY. We called insurance at 2pm, ticket opened with Val-U dispatch at 3:30pm with an eta of 5:30-6. Called Val-U at 6pm and was told another hour. They delayed two more times, it's now 9pm, and they just marked the tow as "Complete" without ever having contacted me. We had to call Progressive and have them open a completely new ticket.
Worst experience ever. First off $598 dollars for a 6 mile tow. Even as an accident thstvwas picked up out of a drive way is still pretty ridiculous. Then they don't give bills they say they email you on eand ive been waiting over 2 weeks and every time I call they say there is nothing they can do for me or it will be emailed later. Then the final straw I told them I'll turn them into the better buisness burrow ans I'm told to go ahead. I do not recommend them ans the drivers told me they have years of experience and didn't know how to get the vehicle off the truck wich I had to show them as i have 2 years of towing experience
Dispatch was extremely rude even on a human level. Cut me off while I asked for an update on our tow (we were told it would be there around 3pm and I called at 4:30 and he said the driver would call in 20 mins as he is making a short trip in town. I called 5:45 for an update) he said “ok can you just hurry up and say what you need”
Then when I quickly explained that I just wanted an update on the truck that was supposed to pick up my car 4 hours ago and he said “ I’m just gonna cancel your tow and you can ask your insurance company to send another company”
So I took my husbands car and took my kids to get dinner and the tow driver called saying he was on his way…. We were 30 minutes away from the car… we were told he wasn’t coming.
Called Roadside Assistance to have our car towed, they assigned Val-U Towing, their driver Rob called to say what time he would arrive, very professional and knowledgeable, carefully loaded our car and delivered it to our dealer.
If I could I would give this company zero stars. The worst towing company ever I will never go through them again extremely in profession and flat out rude. My car was supposed to be towed on the 1st of august it didn’t get towed till the 22 of august. Then because they couldn’t find anyone at the service desk which is a lie drivers village has people that honest to god greet you at the door and are open till 7pm. Instead of giving it to a employee or placing it in the drop box he put it in my gas flap and locked my car and it was my only key from there I called dispatch and was greeted with attitude and rudeness along with the owner Mat being extremely rude and instead of making any kind of offer to remedy the situation as I’m voicing my frustration he said what are you trying to get at with this conversation I’m busy. The lack of customer service and over all decency is a palling. I would never use this company. Please do yourself a huge favor and don’t ever ever ever use this.
This towing was for a rental vehicle and I just want to express my absolute gratitude for the service. Tyler was so nice, getting directly in touch to let me know the eta when it changed, not leaving me hanging. He also did a second check of the interior and noticed my night vision glasses before they were lost (black frames against black interior). And as courteous as could be! Awesome!
Our car broke down yesterday on a windy steep road in the middle of nowhere. We called AAA. They dispatched Val U towing. Was told we would get a call from them. An hour and a half later no call. We called back to see what was going on was told the ETA was 3:30. Another hour past then 2 I called and ask what was going on. We had a 10 month old with us in 90degree weather. The guy from AAA called them. He said the tow truck broke down and that they Had to fix it before they could come and get us. They were on their way. They be there in 45 minutes cool now it’s 5 o clock. Waited another hour nobody still showed up called again and they called to see what was going on and they were like we’re so sorry we apologize. Will be there in 45 minutes now 830. Nobody still there on the side of the road a treacherous road mind you and my car is not totally off the road to begin with with an infant for 7 hours. We finally got the name of the tow company called them personally and they were like we’re sorry we know you were told 45 minutes but it’s gonna be another hour. We finally asked if we could leave because we actually called somebody to pick us up and they said yes just leave the key there they would That was 9 o’clock the lady whose car was in the driveway told us that at 11 o’clock when she went to bed the car was still sitting there. This is a totally unacceptable thing to leave three people with a infant on the side of the road for eight hours and then leave the car sitting there for 12 hours. AAA needs to stop using this company asap

After hours of frustration with my roadside assistance insurance (Good Sam) I decided to secure my own tow as we were stuck on an interstate highway.
Val-u tow reached us in less then 1 hour after we called.
Driver was friendly and funny and quickly had us back to smiles.

Absolutely horrible, unreliable service. I called for a tow at 6:30pm and was quoted a pickup at 8:20pm. I called twice and was given the same message from the dispatch saying the driver was finishing his last call and would be on his way, given the time between the calls, that was clearly not true.
The driver left a message for me at 12:30am when he apparently couldn’t find my car despite it being the only Nissan on the street. They never picked up my car.
