Dawson's Body Shop rescued me on the Thruway when I got a sudden flat tire south of Albany. They arrived right away considering where they came from, and the driver changed my tire quickly and gave me great advice.
The dopest tow company I’ve used. Made it fast and Erin was on point and had me moving in no time. Would definitely recommend if you need a tow. Considering the prices these other tow truck company charge, I’d paid for them every time I need a tow.

I had my car towed from an apartment complex while I was away on vacation. I wasn’t properly notified, and when I came to pick up the car the same day, they still charged me a full $300 with no breakdown or consideration.
When I asked politely for a small discount since I showed up right away and had all documents, they just said “not our problem.”
Terrible customer service and no understanding at all. Wouldn’t recommend this company to anyone.
My experience with Dawson’s was one of the best ever with towing. Called them to get winced out of being stuck in a mud hole. Their response was quick and pricing reasonable. Driver was over the top in being helpful. I was charged extra different than I was quoted, but driver went back to office and then called me back and I was refunded the overage. So yes, honesty is there as well. Will definitely keep them in my contact list if ever needed!
After I got in a car accident in my brand new car in 2022 my car was towed by Dawsons and repaired from April 20th 2022 to June 30th 2022.
The driver the night of my accident was very nice and respectful of my vehicle. After just being in a car accident I left my work phone in the car and I was able to call dispatch to retrieve it the same night without any issues.
The length of time my vehicle was in their possession was due to an issue with parts from Hyundai. Dawsons did excellent work on my vehicle repairing nearly $10,000 in damages. The quality was to perfection when I got my car back. Tommy was beyond helpful through this whole process start to finish, with no worries on my end. I would recommend Dawsons to anyone and would go back myself if needed.
I had a flat on the Thruway last night. I still had 175 miles to my final stop. Aaron was my tow truck drive and went above and beyond to make sure I got to my destination safely. Would highly recommend!
I am appalled at how this whole agregious highway robbery took place. For starters when I called to settle and discuss the situation I was told I was not able to speak to management and there was nothing they could do to assist me and then proceeded to screen my calls after. Needless to say I ran out of gas an exit away from my house and had to call Dawson's. Supposedly the only
Tow service available to service Rt. 87. The tow truck driver arrived laughing and making jokes about how he can't wait to impound my car ect. He told me gas was $175 for 2 gallons so I called dispatch who told me $309 for 2 gallons long story short I was charged 265 for 2 gallons of gas and they refused to allow me to use my progressive roadside for payment stating they only take cash and card. So when I called Dawson's to get a clear breakdown of my bill they stuck charges such as "Hook and tow" For over 100 bucks when they didn't hook nor tow jack diddly. This place is disgusting and prays on people when they are most vulnerable. Terrible people terrible business.
On December 26th my car became disabled n the NYS Thruway. Nothing worked included the flashers. It was 5 degrees and snowing. The Thruway contacted Dawson’s; the rig arrived in twenty minutes and the driver, Aaron, could not have been cheerier, more knowledgeable or helpful. I’ve never needed a tow before but this turned a miserable experience into an almost pleasant event!
I got flat tire this evening and i was on the side of the thru way, Perez came to assist i cant express how awesome he was! Made sure i was safe at all times. He very quickly changed my tire to get me back on my way. Perez was very kind and caring i appreciate all of his hard work!

Blew out a tire on the thruway at night. The driver, Levi, was dispatched to our location. Levi was very knowledgeable and patient. We were able to leave the car in the best place to get it repaired the following morning. It's nice to have a pleasant person assisting us in a crisis. Thank you Levi!
Needed to have ny dumpster truck towed today. Dawsons was prompt, professional, and very fair! Although I hope I don’t need their services again, I will certainly be using them again in the future.
They gave me 30 days to come get the car or come get my belongings and sign the title over. Which was fine. Until I find out that they sent it to the scrap yard a week before they were supposed to.the part that bothers me the most is my moms ashes were in the car and I had a laptop with pictures of my step mom that had passed away in it..
Over the summer we had broken down up state. We had the nicest tow truck driver who truly made the whole experience better! As people who rarely go upstate Aaron really did make it better and eased the stress of the situation! Thank you all!
Car was towed in after accident. My Insurance company paid bill next day and sent another company to pick up. When driver arrived to pick a Dawson's employee was in my car. Why ? He informed the driver that I had tools in back of car. I was waiting for my car to arrive at destination and when it got there all my tools had been stolen. Dawson was contacted and wouldn't even return the call. After I finally got ahold of manager he said my driver's don't care about tools. Unbelievable. Police reports were filed with state and local police. I hope they lose the contract to tow for state in the future.
Our car was totaled. The driver took my husband from the accident scene and assisted my son and husband in emptying the car and reminding him to take the plates. Great treatment at the worse possible time for our family
My son broke down on the side of the highway at 12:30am. A NYS Trooper saw him and called for a tow. Dawson's was the closest company to where he broke down. This happened over the weekend. I called to have my car towed to a trusted repair shop in Albany. I was charged $432 to tow my car. The tow truck driver dropped my car off in a "NO STANDING" spot and I was ticketed. I called the company to request the ticket be paid and was told I had to take it up with my repair shop. Christine is the person from Dawson's I spoke with. She claims my repair shop told the driver to park there. The repair shop has been in this location for over 10 years and never parks in that spot. Long story short be very careful if you decide to do business with Dawson's because they are extremely unprofessional and their driver's display a lacking in common sense. If you see a sign that says NO STANDING you do not park there! SO now I have to spare the expense of this ticket even though it was due to no fault of my own. I will NEVER recommend this company to anyone. If you do not have roadside assistance with your insurance I suggest AAA. I cannot believe after the money I spent for towing that I would have to then pay a parking violation for a car I could not move myself (transmission went). Not only will I never do business here but I am still going after Dawson's to reimburse me for the ticket I had to pay for. Taking advantage of honest working people is absurd and gross practice. Shame on you Dawsons! I wish I could post without the stars because they definitely do not deserve 1 star!
Aaron was a calm, expert tow driver. It took a little longer than I had been told but once he arrived, he apologized, explaining he had already had 5 tows before me on the same day which was evident based on his exhaustion. He handled the tow perfectly, only asked for water when I offered to get him something to handle the heat, brought me to the repair shop I chose, and handled the paperwork with professionalism and patience. I highly recommend this service.
Roadside Assistance from Dawson's was dispatched by the NYS Thruway Authority- I had already changed the tire on my own, but my compressor wasn't creating enough pressure to inflate my collapsible spare.
Eric arrived in under 30 minutes and had me up and running in no time. Excellent service, fair prices, and if I didn't live 150 miles away, I'd certainly do business with Dawson's again!

Our car was overheating and we pulled into the Capital Region Welcome Center on 87-North. We called AAA, who referred us to Dawson's. Our driver, Logan, arrived quickly and was more than happy to tow us all the way to our repair shop in Schenectady. He was friendly and professional. He made a bad situation a lot easier!

Great work! This was my first time dealing with a body shop after my truck was hit parked in front of my house. Tom explained everything as to why they would do a better job and take the time to fix my truck better than most larger shops. They worked with the adjuster and kept me in the loop the entire time. My truck looks amazing just as good as new if not better.
This has been such a terrible experience. First call they insisted they don’t have the car (spoiler alert; they absolutely did). After convincing them that they did in fact have the car, I attempted to pay for it over the phone. I was very rudely told that they don’t take payments over the phone, I explained that the owner would be coming to pick up the car but i would like to pay for it and I was out of town. I explained that it was Sunday and no banks were open and that they were making a difficult situation even more unnecessarily complicated, I was then hung up on by the women I was speaking to. After 4 phone calls the owner (a young lady) went to pick up the vehicle. When she arrived at the lot she was told that he didn’t have the key to the lot and she needed to drive to his house with him to pick up the key, after doing that they get back to the shop and she’s told that the paperwork was at the other shop and she’d have to ride with him there, feeling uncomfortable she declined and was made to wait outside for another half hour.
They tow for the Troy Police. They take your car and then charge you $125 to tow it to their location one mile down the road. If you get towed on the weekend they casually charge an extra $25 to give you your car back. They made me wait 45 minutes at the gate and I had to call 3 times until someone finally came. If you don't pay the extra $25, they'll just charge you a daily storage fee until you get it. I would NEVER do business with these people out of principle. A company that operates like this makes money on the basis of screwing people over, while providing zero service. 2 stars because at least they didn't destroy my car...
My car looks show room new I picked it up today after putting it in. On the 10/16/after I was hit in an accident.

When I had a problem on a Saturday afternoon these guys were right there to help. They came quickly with very nice, well put together equipment, got me off the road and the bill for their service was very fair. Nobody every wants to break down and need a tow truck but if that happens, Dawson's is the one to call! Great place, very fair price and they got there fast. Thanks for an awesome job!
