I’ll give the 3 stars only because they basically take whatever I put out. They periodically forget to collect trash , but to me it’s worth not having to worry about what I put out
Absolutely deplorable service. They have missed trash pickup multiple times in the past year alone. I've witnessed on numerous occasions employees just throwing bins back on the lawn breaking them nonchalantly. When i called to ask why my trash wasn't picked up this most recent time the person on the call had the nerve to ask me if i put it out on the right day. It was last night and they were supposed to pick it up this morning.
Not sure how these people are in business. I’ve called several times and had to leave a voicemail each time trying to get my broken bins replaced. The collectors broke the bins and just left them in my yard. Is this how businesses conduct themselves now? Pathetic
Honestly not bad, They come bright and early every week. Couple times they missed a day or two but overall very good. Wish they would update their truck, looks like they are very very old and barely moving…but but they also have reasonable pricing.
Spohn's didn't take our residential trash here in Hekimer twice in the last 5 weeks. Their main office told me to call Stephanie, their Herkimer customer rep. Stephanie didn't answer her phone, didn't return calls and certainly the trash wasn't picked up. We're doing a lot of house cleaning. Again storing our overflow trash in the driveway in those expensive official village trash bags in hope Spohn's will pick it up this week.
I give them 2 stars. We are a large commercial customer for Spohn. Pros: they are 99% on time. They don't make a mess. Office staff are friendly. What I don't like is the driver for our route is not too friendly. If something small is outside the bin, he won't pick it up. If something large is inside the bin, he will use the truck forks to take it out, and whatever garbage is on top of it comes out as well. The old driver and old truck were great. He would go out of his way for the customer. But I've never known a company to be nit picky, and pull stuff out of hoppers for a commercial user.
They never take all my garbage and today they threw my garbage on the ground in my driveway so when I called to say something to them the lady didn't care she got loud with me and hung up on me. I just wanted my garbage picked up I don't understand
I absolutely love Spohn Disposal. Everytime I need to get ahold of someone in the office they always answer with a friendly tone. I could not recommend this service enough to people.

Almost from day one my wife and I have had problems with this company. After living at our house for now 2 years I feel like I need to make this review as I had to once again call this company.
Calling them is like playing Russian roulette, one call you may get someone nice, the next 5 times you will get someone rude.
To the point where I need to drop them as calling them every week to remind them to pick up my trash is becoming too much.
Also they are really good at making sure they leave some of your trash on your lawn.
Unfortunately I have seen a decline in service over the past 6 months. Customer service is very friendly, however their pick up service is not reliable. It is to the point I am calling once a month to ask them to call their driver to get my garbage. At one point it took over a week and daily phone calls to get service I pay for. Either they leave my garbage, only pick up half my garbage, or spill it all over the road. I replayed my camera footage and watched them drive by and leave my garbage.
Definitely one of the better companies out there. Their customer service is friendly and on point. The drivers and pickers are courteous and go above and beyond. My review stays the same and remember a cup of coffee goes a long way.
This garbage disposal service is literal garbage. One week they come 4 am the next they come at 4 pm and the week after they won't come at all. You call them and they are rude on the phone and say you're supposed to put the garbage out the night before.. I did. Then they said they would send someone to pick it up. It sat infront of my house until the next week. Then they throw the cans in the middle of the road and leave them there I have watched them do it from my window. Extremely unprofessional overall.
Wednesday night is our garbage night, Thursday afternoon after work I went to get my cans and my recycling can was half empty, loosely in the container but still half empty. I called to have them fix it, they promised to send someone friday. Friday came and went no one came and emptied it, Saturday and Sunday, no one came, Sunday night I had to call and threaten with intervention with the Better Business Bureau, FINALLY on Monday afternoon our recycling got emptied, almost a week after I called.
I have called them numerous times to try to get another recycle bin to get rid of my Christmas cardboard because they wont take it if I put it in a box next to my bin on garbage day. I keep getting the run around. After not getting it the first time I called and was told I was on the list and with COVID they are a little behind. Thw next time I was told very rudely that I called the wrong number after explaining to the woman everything she check to then tells me that I would be getting it the next day. The next week after not receiving it I call again and was told that I had to call another number so I did and was told I would get a call Thursday to set up a time to get my cardboard that they usually dont do it but because of the trouble I have gone threw they would. Here it id Tuesday of the following week and I have not gotten a call. I call today and leave a message at 11:30 this morning and at 4:53pm no call.
This garbage company hit a tree in front of my house back in October 2020, the tree landed on mine and my tenants vehicles. Their garbage truck had no insurance on it since March of 2020, the company has not got back to us with any resolution and is dodging us. Congrats on being just another shady business in the Mohawk valley.
Spohn has consistently picked up my trash after 4pm which is entirely to late if they want trash put out the night before which entirely too long to have trash can on the corner of my driveway
I'm up visiting my parents, age 91&90. There residents is located on a corner in Dolgeville, to my amazement, since I didn't properly place disposable close enough to road, the driver was either following company protocol not to get out of vehicle or to lazy . Either way, money not well spent.????????
