They were very polite and patient with me. My only complaint is probably not their fault but it seemed to take a long time to get parts. However, they also many times said that they do not guarantee a date of finish because many things can't go wrong. Their work looked very good after they touched up a few dings that we noticed. They did this gladly and for no charge.

Made an appointment over a week ago for an insurance repair to my vehicle. Everything was all set up with insurance, rental car ECT. Out of the blue I get a call that they are shutting down for remodeling and would reschedule my repairs until May. This is a very poor business practice. I realize they recently started under new ownership but still this is very poor business and they are loosing a repair job over 5 grand.

PLEASE, PLEASE do not go here or give these people your money!! The Absolute WORST experience.Long Story short, I had a damage to the front of the car, minimal damage to front of the car (Emblem and grill) and small damage to my bumper. They had my car for about 2 months. Throughout this whole process. Not one single phone call to update me on my car. I had an initial inspection done, then made an appointment with the shop. I believe they ordered the parts when I brought the car in instead of ordering them and making the appointment when the parts arrived so I could have at least had my car.I had to call every week to which I was told “end of the week”, and again “end of the week” and “we found additional parts that need to be ordered” . My insurance covered the rental for 30 days and eventually had to pay out of pocket. I finally got the truth through my insurance, not the auto body shop, that they were waiting on a part that was back ordered for the bumper. Mind you they were waiting for weeks for this and knew the part was on back order but never communicated this to me. I called the body shop for the part number and was told “Well, I already called within a 200-mile radius” to which again I asked for the part number. To their defense, VW did not have it, or anyone in upstate NY. Within one hour I was able to find a shop in New Jersey that had the part. On a Monday I woke up at 6AM drove 2 hours to jersey, paid out of pocket to which they eventually reimbursed me, then 2 hours back directly to the shop. I handed the front desk the part and let them know I am paying 400-500 a week in rental and can only give them to the end of the week and I will need my car whether it’s done it not. Because at this point, I have not had my car for 2 months. She said rudely says “well , we were only waiting on this”. I call Tuesday and the front desk says, “it will be done end of today”. Wednesday rolls around no phone call, then Thursday no phone call, then Friday morning I drop the rental off, head to the shop because I clearly communicated to them, I will be there Friday to take my car whether its done or not. I open the door, and they say “We didn’t call you”. I said “Yes, that is correct you didn’t call me. I’m here to pick up my car, you said on Tuesday it would be done end of day”. She goes in the back, comes back out, and says “ it will be 30 min, we found additional damage. And it still has to be calibrated”. I then ask her how long that takes which she replied “an hour and the guy would be back at 2.” I bring my car back at 2 to be calibrated. I say to the other woman at front desk “ Hey she said there’s additional damage, I already called the insurance company, is that going to be documented anywhere?” the front desk then says “oh there wasn’t additional damage, they just scratched the bumper when they were putting it back on” . So, you lied about damaging my vehicle no matter how small the scratch was. So, I told them to get that in writing. They don’t say anything to me when I sit down, then ask again, is that going to be emailed or printed. Which she rudely says , “Yea we printed a letter for you right here”. So, I wait an hour. And then office manager comes up to me with a VW emblem and says.. “We don’t have the right emblem with the right sensor, the dashboard lights will be on, but car still works, and the emblem will be here Tuesday.So let me get this straight. You have had my car for 2 MONTHS and still don’t have the right part!?!? I personally drove 2 HOURS to get you the part you could have told me about a month ago and you STILL can’t get the right parts and lie about scratching my car.Update: I actually got a phone call to let me know emblem was in. at least one ! There are 3 words to sum up this place and those are SLOW, RUDE and DISHONEST!! I only chose this place because it was the first spot open through my insurance and I don’t even trust the work they have done. I hope no one ever has to deal with these people or be left in the dark and deal with the insanely rude staff.

If you want pieces of your broken car left in your trunk for you to clean this is the place for you! After waiting 3 and a half weeks to get my car I had to clean the pictures below out of my trunk. Regardless of the great customer service, this completely ruined it. I also found an entire bag of empty beer bottles that weren't mine.

All at the shop were friendly, helpful, honest and courteous. Estimate on the spot. Repairs were very timely and even the supplemental damage found was handled quickly. Thank you Chris!

A friend's car was involved in an accident and was brought to Green Island Auto Body for the insurance estimate. Despite it being totaled and Green Island Auto Body not getting a repair job, the staff was incredibly helpful and friendly, answering all of our questions and taking time explain the insurance process. Great company. I would recommend them to anyone.

They performed a estimate on the extensive bodywork damage on my Acura MDX 2018. I received excellent customer service. Professional estimated cost, and knowledgeable assistance of how I should make my next move respectfully. I dont have an outcome yet, but I'm forever grateful to you for understanding. I just had my car checked out by GIAB and they were the best. Fast, professional and HONEST! My insurance insisted I get my car checked out after a minor accident and it ended up costing $0 because I went to the right people. I will be coming back here whenever my car needs anything from now on!

Exceptional customer service. Timely turn around. Impeccable attention to detail. My car was returned to me without any visible evidence of the accident and they even cleaned the interior be to nicer than how I left it! I would recommend without reservation.

I had work done on my Toyota RAV4 due to being backed into. All the work was completed except installation of cracked tail light. Because it is getting difficult to get parts from vendors that is the only piece left to complete. Their customer service is great! I also had work done on my Toyota Corolla. When I pointed out that they missed buffing out a scratch they took it right back in and did it with no issues! I would recommend them and I will use them again if necessary! Thank you!!!!

I was in the area and i stopped by to schedule an appointment for an estimate,they were clearly very busy with alot going on. I walked into the office and this is when i thought i should just turn around and leave. The woman working at the desk was helping a couple and her answers to these people were in a snoty and rude tone it was obvious these people didnt know the process and asking all the typical questions.....however I against better judgement waited my turn and I told the woman i wanted an estimate on getting my outer rockers and cab corners done on my gmc truck(common rust point). She asked are they rusted? to which i replied yes thats why i am here to get a price on cutting out the old ones and installing new etc etc........she replied with we dont do rust!!! i am sorry are you not a body shop? needless to say they will not be getting my buisness and i would also offer that perhaps they get someone at the desk who actually knows something about the body buisness.......

I used Green Island several years ago for a fix they handled perfectly. Recently I needed something minor adjusted on a newer car and they were able to do it while I waited!! I’ve been to another auto body place in Watervliet and Green Island AB is way better. Thanks Mary!! Awesome service

I was in an accident and my insurance company recommended this place. My car now looks fantastic. They did a great job matching the paint, which is an unusual shade of blue. It's a 2010 and it looks like a new car. They also did some detailing on the inside, which I did not request or pay for, and which looks really nice. Very friendly, knowledgeable and professional staff. I would definitely use them again, and would recommend them to anyone who needs auto bodywork.

I had made arrangements over the phone to get my vehicle looked at for a minor issue . The man over the phone told me it shouldn’t take long and to show up first thing in the morning. When I showed up I told the woman at the front desk the information that I was provided. She told me that no one was able to even look at my car because they’re booking appointments to the end of the month. Very unprofessional. 10/10 do not recommend this auto body shop. If the people at the front desk are rude by no means do I want to spend my hard earned money in their place of business.

When I arrived for an estimate on my wife's vehicle Tony was prompt, and professional. His estimate was detailed, and accurate. My wife, and I were very nervous as this is an almost brand new lease car. Tony's reassurance helped to calm us to this never fun experience. We dropped our vehicle off on a Tuesday morning with an estimate of a week's work. Throughout the next week the communication from Green island was exceptional and detailed. The repair took an extra day than estimated to complete, but only because they wanted to make sure the job was flawless. Upon picking up the vehicle it was perfect. The bodylines were straight with zero imperfections, and the metal flake paint matched perfect. I am extremely happy with work that was done, and will highly recommend them to anyone in need of auto body repairs!

Had a deep scratch repaired in the liftgate of my vehicle. Repair was completed on time, but when I arrived to pick it up, I noticed there was a very noticeable dimple in the paint. They agreed to take care of it no problem. Next day comes to pick up the vehicle, paint job is still not perfect and there is buffing compound all over the window moldings and running down the bumper. Just a messy job and didn't bother to clean up. Also, the interior floor and door jamb was a mess from dirty shoes. It would have been nice for them to at least clean up, especially since when the car was dropped off it was immaculate.

Have used them three times. Very friendly staff. Reasonable prices. Hopefully I don’t need any more body work in the near future, but if I do I will come back :)

Had my summer car painted and repaired there over the winter , been back 3 times to correct the swirls in the buffing process . Still is not correct . The reason I had it painted , I had blisters showing under the paint less then 6 months later the blisters are back . I don't know what to do ,?im not sure the can get it right ... and I'm not usually a fussy person

They do great work, I've had two cars brought here, once was covered by insurance, one was out of pocket. Both times the work made both cars look brand new. I've recommended this place a few times to close friends. They've all been very pleased with the results as well.

At my coworkers recommendation, I brought my older summer car here for a refresh. It didn't have any major damage, it was just a high mileage but nice car. I spoke with Joe and walked him around the car and we talked about a price. They were able to paint most of the car, fix any little dings it had, and made it look just about brand new for the price we agreed upon in advance (which was VERY competitive). They don't call you every day, so I called them every few days so as not to annoy them, and they were great. I went back a while later to fix a bent hood on my other car (a Mini Cooper) and they did it same-day and didn't charge much at all. Fantastic service again.

I have been a customer for years. I have nothing but great things to say about Dave and his crew. I understand some companies a more communicative (ie: daily email updates). But thats the beauty of dealing w Green Island Auto body. I can drop off my car and not have to worry about it. 5 Stars.

This time it was Tony that I sopke with, as he was in constant communication with me and updating pictures at my insurance Vehicle Status web site. As before the crew and Tony were extremely polite, friendly and willing to help in any way they could. My truck was repaired in the time they specified. Now it looks great, I think its even better then it was before the accident. I highly recommend this body shop to everyone. My opinion ..THEY ARE STILL EXCELLENT!!!!!!!
