Bud took great care of us in a real time of need. Cut a tire while enjoying some scenic off roading and needed a new tire for our VW Atlas Peak Edition. Bud ordered the correct tire for us and installed it the day we needed to travel to our next vacation destination. He was great at communicating with me and got it balanced and installed as soon as it came in. Would highly recommend Bud and would definitely trust him again in a time of need.
Bud moves at that relaxed Red River speed and still got our van back to us in two days when ordering the parts from Albuquerque. Not all heroes wear capes. Thanks Bud.
We drove 5 hours straight through from Arvada Colorado with the battery light on and fearful of not making it. Checked in that PM. The next day I found Red River Auto thru online search and took the car to him unannounced, and he stopped what he was doing and spent the time needed to diagnose the problem. We had a flat tire. Called Red River Auto Shop and even so Bud is off on weekends he came in on a Saturday and quickly patched our flat. Amazing service. Highly recommend.

Bud was able to find the slow leak after I previously got the tire patched in Questa (apparently I ran over something on the road to the Red River Hatchery). I really appreciate his persistence and care. I was a bit concerned driving back to Kansas, but it hasn't lost a breath since. Good work, much appreciated.
I had a tire go flat in the upper valley. I called the shop after hours and he told me to tow my car in and drop it off at the door. He had me back on the road first thing in the morning. Profesional and expert service!!!!
Drove from Kansas and ended up needing 4 tires. Bud had the tires within a day and had them all dismounted, mounted and balanced in under 3 hours. Bud is a pro at what he does. His price was almost the same as it was back home. I highly recommend anyone to support the local Red River Auto Shop!
The guy is amazing! We got a flat tire driving to Red River from Denver and he was able to take care of it, he had a window where he was able to help us out! Also he was just very friendly and down to Earth
We were on vacation and ended up with a bad tire. He didn't have the tire size we needed in stock, but he took time out of his schedule to diagnose the problem and helped us find a place in Taos that could help us.
Called the Wednesday after 4th of July for an oil change. Said, he would check and see if he could get me in. Said to call back the next day. I did….. he said the same thing…. So I called on Friday and he said I don’t have the oil, but will get it from Questa today and will call you. I waited no call. Then on Saturday I called again and he said he had the oil let me check and I will call you back. Needless to say it is now Monday and I am in Taos to get an oil change.
Traveling by myself and I had battery issues. Bud made sure my car was fixed and when a couple of extra warning lights came on, he drove it to make sure they went off. I know he had other things to do but he made my car a priority and I was in and out in about an hour so my vacation was not disturbed too much. Great service and a very nice person and my car is running great!
My Jetta’s oil pan lost an argument with a rock on Bobcat Pass. Managed to freewheel her in to town to Bud’s shop. He quickly ordered a replacement pan; with none available locally, he grabbed the last one in Albuquerque (!) and went above and beyond what I asked for, staying late to fix the vehicle and diagnose a few other issues. He saved me time and money by getting me back on the road much earlier than expected. He is quick to communicate, an expert mechanic and a professional in every sense. Thanks Bud
After hitting a rock on the highway coming into Red River we realized we needed help. We were very pleased to find a mechanic who was willing to do his best to help us and get us on our way. We highly recommend Bud for his good work and honesty.
We drove 10 hours to Red River in my Subaru Outback. When we were driving through town we noticed there was a loud grinding sound coming from my rear passenger wheel. We called the shop and Bud was very willing to help even though he was done for the day. He called a few places and the bearing was there the next day. I took my car in and he was done in just a few hours. Very friendly and great service. I highly recommend!
We spent the afternoon in Eagle Nest and Angel Fire , where we unfortunately broke down . Had our truck towed back to Red River. Bud was close to closing, but we called and he waited on us. He found the problem the next day and had us up and running the next. Thanks again Bud for all your help!
Half way up a trail in the mountains, our jeep front drivers side tire locked up when we tried to reverse. Was able to limp it down and stopped at Red River Auto Shop. Even though he was busy, Bud came to our rescue! Lost 2 bolts holding the calipher in place. He immediately suspected that was the issue when we explained what happened and quickly confirmed it. He got us fixed up and tightened the other side as well. GREAT MECHANIC, CONSCIENTIOUS and HIGHLY RECOMMEND him!! Thanks again Bud!!
Bud is the greatest. Good work and very nice. Would do business again with him. Had to replace a bad tire. Decided to replace all 4. Over a holiday weekend.
Our battery died in our Suburban in Red River, we were staying in Taos, he came to the rescue jumped started our 2017 Suburban, I followed him back to his shop off Main Street and he installed a new battery, and had us on our way in less than 45 minutes at the end of the day. WHAT AN AWESOME BUSINESS OWNER AND MECHANIC!!!!
The owner of this shop, “Bud” was the mechanic we were so glad to find! Our radiator cap on my 87 year old Daddy’s Ram pickup was loose, causing it to over heat. Simple fix and that is all Bud tried to sell us. An honest man is so refreshing to find. God bless you Bud.
Great job of customer service and fair pricing. Had a blowout on way to Greenie Peak and decided to go ahead and get 4 new all terrain tires because the pricing was very good. We had to order the tires but they arrived the next day and he was able to get the job completed before the end of the day.
My truck broke down while on vacation, thus the need for a mechanic. Red River Automotive got us back on the road the next day. Fair pricing and appreciated that Motorcraft OEM parts were used.
Could not catch them when they were open & could not find any hours posted. Being the only tire repair shop in Red River it would be nice to have an after hours & weekends number to call.
