This was an unexpected gem. We were tired and cold after a long mountain bike ride. Here we found hot food and drink and a place to sit by the warm stove. Not many of the general stores left. This was the real deal with a surprising large selection of everything from guns to ice-cream
I love this little down home stop after loading at the st cloud mine, I'm always waiting for the school bus to get to town so I don't meet it on the road but I enjoy the little town country home experience of the General Store in Winston.
This is an awesome store located way out in Winston, New Mexico. You can get everything from here including gas, groceries, gifts, you can borrow their phone if you cant get your cell to work, even a hot shower and so much more. You can even get a great homemade pulled pork sandwich any day of the week all day every day! I stop in this store at least once every other month just for a hot pulled pork sandwich and to look in their gift shop in the back!

Everything you need in one location ! It's a small town mini super mart ! Look closely and slowly , treasures tucked away , unique pieces and helpful items and great staff make this a special stop .
Old School General Store with an outstanding inventory for its modest size. Seems like they have at least one of everything for the camping hunter! Staff was extremely helpful and good natured. Excellent grocery choices, too. I'll definitely be back when I visit the area.
Cute little store in a town in the middle of nowhere.. had a little of everything including a few choices of warm meals .we had pulled pork sandwiches.. very good! Will stop again if in the area .(traveling from Wisconsin)
The general store has everything you can ask for from RV needs, forgotten hunting supplies, cute clothing and accesories, food, snacks, groceries, gifts, you name it! Everything was also well priced considering its the only store for miles. They also have a gas and deisel pump and showers so you can save some of your RV water. We received excellent customer service while here and cant wait to be back.
Small store with very friendly service and a great variety of goods and supplies for small town. Big bonus being the only store I've visited with big game storage, showers, and hunting supplies. Friends and and I visit every time we hunt anywhere near Winston or pass through.
This place is a must-visit.

Perfect location for a supply store. And honest respectable people. No outrageous prices here (like some middle of nowhere stores do in NM, and... for their own reasons of extra expenses I do understand).
Be sure to ask directions to the local hot food vendor around the corner. More Great People, making burgers, tacos, fries, and shakes. (Doughnuts n coffee too)
Well stocked general store in the boonies. Generous selection of rifles as well as ammunition and other hunting gear. Gas and diesel prices are very reasonable for the remote location. They stock plenty of local craftsman's wares and they also have showers available.
The customer service is worth the drive up the mountain!
They don't gouge on the gas prices and are nice people. Stop in just to look at the taxidermy, wood work and gift shop. They have hunting supplies as well. ICE!!!!!
Awesome experience and great customer service. We had been stuck for about 10 hours in Monticello Box Canyon before getting here. This place was a true oasis. Everyone working here even other customers were super friendly. They had an interesting variety of stuff being sold here. We bought everything from microwave food to gun ammunition. If you end up stopping in Winston, New Mexico this place is a must visit.
