I am an older fellow, and I was having trouble emptying my trailer. A worker there, saw I was having trouble getting trailer unloaded. He stepped up and offered to empty it for me. I am grateful that people here still help each other.
I’m sorry but requiring a tarp for everything is ridiculous. I can understand for like trees, branches, etc. You pay over $100 for a tarp the time you get there you might as well throw your tarp in the dump
The website says you can get free mulch (about a pickup truck worth) if you load it yourself yet when I go over there they make a big deal and say you can only get half a bed. On the website it does not say anything about daily limits as well.
The women who work at the window are always rude and snippy they seem to hate their job.
Extremely poor customer service at the window, crazy high prices we will be submitting a formal complaint with the mayor‘s office and a possible lawsuit to study these influx in outrageous prices for the local business person. $100 deposit for six bags of green waste in ALBUQUERQUE, Rio Rancho and Tijeras that’s six ($6) dollars flat. This place is the worst transfer station,I had a little bit of lumber mainly trees and house trash in a 5x8 trailer and they charged me for a construction dump fee when I asked what I would be charged for before and they didn't tell me, they held my debit card until I came out and said that's what they were charging me for ,buckman dump is a rip off, I'll haul my trash to abq for that price
I called SFSWMA and was informed I could drop off HHW for free anytime on 11/6/21, before I left for the errand I double checked the SFSWMA website and saw that on Fridays and Saturdays you can drop off HHW all day. When I arrived at 1:30 I was told that they stopped accepting oil at 1:00 because of the event.
Poor communication on the part of the SFSWMA employee cost me an hour and a half of my time today and additional time and money in the future.
The staff assumes everyone is a transfer station expert. They were kinda rude when rules arent followed. But if you arent an expert going to the dump there are things that you might not know. They need to be a little nicer!
The woman at the gate tiday was very friendly and helpful, and I have always had good service here. They have a wide variety of recycling aervices -- very convenient one-stop drop.
This has to be one of the nicest, friendliest government run business operations anywhere. "Apples" and his coworkers make it a joy to take my trash there.
I have been taking quite a few loads in there lately and the entire staff has been wonderful. Especially the young man Jesus who works in the green waste section. He is a huge help and is always willing to lend a hand or even answer my questions. Ty so much for everyone there making life a little easier and much more pleasant.
First, let me point out an interesting fact about the large metal dumpsters located on the left side of the entrance. The dumpster for glass is always filled with thousands of wine and liquor bottles. I wonder if anyone has done statistical research on the volume of beverages consumed in Santa Fe? Might be interesting. I've met some interesting people at the Buckman Road Recycling Center. Many people find comfort in dumping their trash, cardboard, plastic and glass into an environmentally sound system for disposing of sensitive materials. It's exciting to dump stuff that is no longer needed and know it may be repurposed into useful materials. The drive from Santa Fe is scenic and passes by a large, mysterious antenna that has some important role in our telecommunications grid. You can purchase crushed glass, mulch, composted mulch and your contributions make Santa Fe a greener place in the wasteland that is New Mexico.
