This scrapyard is one of the best scrapyard in Santa Fe New Mexico it has good parts a vending machine with snacks and the place looks good even they do recycling cans a lot of things
Went in with clean copper for the first time after calling for a price quote the price dropped as I approached the counter. I understand market fluctuations but this felt like something else.
Capital is providing the dumpster and Porta Potty services for a construction site I'm working on. Today a gentleman named Don was on site to clean the porta potties. Don was incredibly friendly and interesting to talk to. And he left the john cleaner than any other that I've seen in my construction career.
EXCELLENT staff and customer service. I have been a customer in various forms (buying material, selling material, having regular dumpster service at my house) for years now. EVERY interaction with staff has been respectful and friendly. Twice, over about 10 years, we had minor problems with billing errors and a quick easy phone call with friendly staff fixed the issue within 5 minutes or so.
We have had the nicest driver every week for years who comes and picks up our trash. I have a 4 year old who loves big trucks and such so I regularly bring him out to watch the truck empty our dumpster. Our driver has brought him candy knowing he'd be there every week. We have made cookies for him in gratitude.
When you work with Capital Scrap you work with people who interact with you on a normal human level. No corporate fake politeness, no wait for a solution to an issue, no employees who are not actually allowed to help you, etc... This is the type of old school customer and business interaction that has mostly been lost. Hence, we have made various baked goods for them on more than one occasion <3

Unfriendly staff, dismissive and unhelpful when I was trying to drop off some scrap. Honestly just the littlest bit of help or direction would have been nice these people seemed half asleep
I took a paper bag full of cans in the 1st time and was paid $2.88. Took a 13 gallon trash bag and a small paper bag full of cans in yesterday and was paid $2.55. Four times as many cans and was paid less. Hmmm . . .
Been going to Capital Scrap for many years to cash-in junk(metals), look for a used auto part and at times just to see what's scrap pieces I can reuse. Great employees and fair priced owners. Thanks
We have gotten a 30 yard dumpster from Capital three times over the last twenty years or so. This last time for a major home remodel. The folks at the office are always pleasant and helpful. The delivery guys are great - they can park these things on a dime, which always amazes me. Prompt service, good pricing, and nice people - sometimes had to come by these days. I recommend them highly! JS
The scale red that I had 75 pounds worth of cans and the guy wrote down that I had 35 and when I confronted him on it he had already reset the scale and said that it was 35 I suggest you guys take a picture of the scale if you take anything to these guys cause they’re untrustworthy
I was going to capitol scrap for 30 years or longer before Brian threw me out. I'd take about3$ worth of wire. My bad I was kaving a bad day and needed the wire for a project and had alteadyspentall themoneyi had onme on metal $40 worth. I needed about1 pound more.

I work on a lot of cars. They sell car parts. Reasonable prices. You can take parts off yourself. They charge a flat rate when I have a lot of small, miscellaneous, random items. They sell tires and can mount them on my wheels or the wheels I'm buying. They buy scrap metal, old car parts, old appliances, copper, aluminium, etc. All kinds of good stuff! Sometimes I find rolls of copper wire I buy for house construction electrical projects, sometimes copper for plumbing, even computer parts! Love this place! Always like a kid in a candy store! These guys save/make me money in all kinds of ways! I've been a customer for over 20 years! Thank you!!
I saw a good review about this place, and they were right on. If they got it the price is great. Fast service even when busy. All the employees were so nice and helpful.
This is a "better than most but not good as it gets" place. Tho very small relatively, they pack a punch. Giving pretty uniform service across the board. Not usually too long of a wait, competitive prices and wheel chair accessible office but not so much the parking as it is gravel.

This place is the place to go when your looking for the most hassle free top prices paid. This place is by far worth the extra drive. Most honest highest paying place out of any where in Albuquerque or Santa Fe, and I've been to all of them.
Capital Scrap is by far the best Junk yard within a 100 miles, fair, and courteous. They keep their prices of parts low, but you have to remove the parts your self! Also have the best affordable towing service in town.
