Their billing department is terrible. Their auto pay is non-functional. They only pick up recycling every other week, when they used to pick it up weekly, even though the price did not change. They do not recycle glass. When the Rio Rancho Landfill is full this year (2025) they are going to ship the trash down to Los Lunas instead of making a contract with the Sandoval County Landfill. Very wasteful

I recently moved into my new home in Rio Rancho, and as expected, I have a significant number of boxes from home deliveries. Most of these boxes are too large to fit into the recycling bin, so I flattened and neatly stacked them at the curb for pickup. However, during today’s scheduled recycling collection, the truck passed by my block—including my home—without collecting the boxes. Only the green bin was emptied. As a paying customer, I expect recycling services to be carried out as intended. In my previous residence in Texas, this was never an issue, and I anticipated the same or better service here in New Mexico, which strongly promotes green initiatives.

The waste management team in Rio Rancho are awesome! Great customer service! Just moved here and trash receptacles arrived ahead of time. The guys pick up trash as schedule and lands them right back to where I placed them. Thank you for such great service!

We took a small load to the dump today for my husband's business. The dump has a new policy - as of 1 month ago - in which they charge $10 more for a business load. Why the disparity for the same exact service? It's not about the amount, but the principle of the thing. Smells like greed to me!

We are in the area, taking care of my grandmother yard, and we went to take some greens over there from the yard and the girl was so rude. We just left. She said we couldn’t get assistance unless we went by wait but did it and said it very rude, unprofessional completely

WM’s website made it so easy to request new receptacles and I love how easy it is to see when trash and recycling pick up is.

WM lied by sending me a letter stating that I put non recyclable items in the green containers. Furthermore they sent a pic that was not my recycle items. In fact I did not put recycle out that week. I recycle only 1 time per month. Very disappointed with WM. I've sent letters to Mayor Hull regarding WM business practices and would like the option to NOT use their services ** UPDATE** 7-16-22. I responded to WM's request for more information, waiting for a reply. **UPDATE 7-8-25 never got a reply

Billing issues. Very disappointed with customer service who after multiple calls have yet to properly credit my account. I have been charged for the same service multiple times including late fees. I provided documentation from my bank showing payments were made. To date I am still receiving emails and calls about delinquent charges. Check all your billing’s and make sure they are correctly being credited to your accounts

I am writing to express my concerns regarding the inconsistency of the recycling collection service in my area. While I diligently pay my bill each month, I have noticed that my recycling can is not picked up regularly, which is quite disappointing. It appears that the collection service is more reliable when it comes to withdrawing payments from my account than it is with the actual pickup of recyclables. I believe it is essential for the service to ensure that recycling is collected consistently, according to the schedule rather than when ever they feel like it.

The cost of Waste Management is over the top compared to the quality of service. The truck drivers destroy driveways while picking up the barrels. The quality of the replacement barrels are sooo cheap and the barrel was damaged on the first usage. The new barrel has a damaged side where the truck's arm handled the barrel.

Customer service for this company sucks! If you are trying to swap out your trash bin, you better start a year early. Plus, you have to 'give them your firstborn' for them to believe that you really need a bin replacement. Unfortunately, this company is a monopoly, just like the gas and electric companies, and you have no choice but to say, 'Yes sir, may I have another?'

Good service. WM is good about updating on delivery schedules. They only downside is that our containers break a little more each time they are emptied, the trucks are rough on them. I've had no issues getting replacement containers when needed. Overall great service

Late or really early pickup, inconsistent times. Frequent delays in pickups till the next day resulting in windblown trash in the neighborhood if stormy. Abysmal customer service and be warned about a personal trip to the dump. Expensive and cruel. If it has been raining at all your vehicle will be covered with a vile sewage sludge/mud which is difficult and stinky to remove. WM is not a good neighbor and I look forward to this dump closing down. The county dump is much cleaner and staff are professional. Rating is actually 1/100.

Terrible costumer service, can never return any calls when I try to get in contact, ridiculous regulations like not picking up your trashcan when its out on the street yet “ a little too close to a vehicle” to get picked up on normal days, then cant even notify consumers when they don’t pick up trash cans for them, like common decency. Will still charge even when they don’t pick up your trash cans and they cant even do the bare minimum to move the trash can to where THEIR OWN VEHICLES can get them because they have limited access points, to me if I pay for a service and have limited street access to begin with then you can at least communicate and give your costumers a call or email when you don’t pick up for reasons like so, costumer service lady Sarah that I talked to seemed to have a very hard time showing any care to my situation, do not recommend their service based on how Ive been treated as a costumer.

New housing in area. New delays. Instead of morning arrival sometime in the late morning or afternoon. They always seem to be in a hurry and trash bins are on the ground. This is lately. Billing takes to long to pay. Automated voice system and internet take to long for transaction. A real hassel.

Good driver service every week. Impossible to reach a live person on the phone numbers given. Terrible customer access since they moved their service center out of Rio Rancho, NM 15 years ago.

WM what a joke. We just moved and had our 2 trash cans out and boxes tied and flat. They took only trash in cans and now I call they want $25 extra and wait 2 weeks to pick up boxes. What a racket. We only have this as a second home and only put out trash once a month. Scammy company.

Haven't had an issue before but woke up today to them having entirely blocked my driveway by putting my trashcan smack dab in the center, which is frustrating. I understand my neighbor parks their vehicle where my can should go but I just put it as close as possible to the edge so my husband and I can get in and out still. It's a minor complaint but having to park it in the middle of the road and get out of the truck to move the trashcan over when they have no issues keeping everybody else's trashcan where it was in the first place is definitely annoying.

The recycling bin they provided was crushed by one of their "professional" drivers. We did not call for a replacement because they want us to pay $100.00 for their mistake. Suddenly the damaged bin is removed. No replacement is provided. I attempted to call and get another one but because the bin is now missing they want to charge us a "missing bin" fee! Unbelievable! Worst company ever! I think they are ok with drivers destroying bins so they can charge customers additional fees. And don't get me started on the quarterly payment schedule! What a nightmare!

We appreciate your business. We are always advised when there may be a schedule change. The Waste Management team is always consistently on time. The drivers are always respectful of other drivers on the road and always put our containers back with no damage to them. We are very satisfied with the customer service we receive. waste management service is good. scheduling is good. the drivers are consistent. the containers are tough. the price for the service is out of control though. I'm paying $65 every three months. the price doubled three or four years ago. Huge jump in cost. Rediculous. I'm considering just taking my own trash to the dump every other week for $5..

No problem taking your money or setting up a new account. However, when you watch their trucks destroy your cans and complain they catagorically deny it and want you to pay for the replacement as well as it's removal. I had to take my demolished can to the dump a long with my regular trash. When I canceled service, like every other business they put you on eternal hold which was followed by being verbally berated into providing a reason why I'm cancelling just to check a box in their system. Not a fan. Take the garbage to the landfill on your own. Less aggravation and worry.

WM communicates very well when changes in schedule will occur. The company frequently asks for feedback to improve services. The drivers are courteous and make sure containers are put back in pickup location. I recommend WM to anyone looking for this service.

Came home from cancer treatment to find our trash can picked up and deposited in such a way it was blocking our driveway and our recycling bin knocked over with all the contents spilled all over the street. We have physical issues and have to ask for help getting our bins out in the first place. I cannot believe they made such a mess and then just drove off!
