I have been selling non ferrous metals to Alec and Vicki for over ten years. They are polite and fair in their business practices. The staff is knowledgeable and helpful, especially for anything too heavy or awkward. USA Can is the best place in Las Cruces to sell scrap metal.
I went there this past Friday and have zero complaints. I read a few reviews and can tell you most of the bad reviews are because they expect to get the highest price in the U.S. it doesn’t work that way people. Also wire size does matter any wire 16 awg and bigger is considered #1 and anything smaller is considered #2. When they melt it down the smaller wires don’t yield as much so just stop complaining and understand how scrapping works before you leave bad reviews. They usually put your stuff in a wheel barrel then weight it, then they subtract the weight of the wheel barrel itself. Some of these people think the wheel barrel should be paid out also. If you don’t believe them ask them to weight the wheel barrel by itself so you can see for yourself. I don’t because I trust them. Been dealing with them and down the street for years now so no need not to trust them.
I measured my recyclables at at home and then they measured them on the scale at this recycling center and it was three times less weight in other words their SCALE IS RIGGED

Make sure you WATCH the scale. We didn't the first one n they screwed us. Then wouldn't let us see the first weight and then denied even having it. Then all the sudden the cameras weren't available for review. Very Sorry place of work. And very UNPROFESSIONAL
This is one of the best places to go for recycling your aluminum cans, copper, steel, brass, etc. With competitive pay for your aluminum and other materials, it's the go to recycling center in las Cruces. And for it being a recycle warehouse, it's very well organized compared to others I've witnessed. With friendly staff to help unload and weigh your haul, it helps to make everything go smooth, and quick. Cash paid per pound for your haul at the front window.
The guys there are the best!! They are courteous and help with the unloading of your recyclables. They are accurate and you can rest assured that the weights will be accurate. Highly recommend them.
2 stars. Only because of every other time I was taken care of. I bring 112 lbs of copper in and he says he cant pay much bc of type of wire. All kinds mixed together. Most #2. 10.35 and that's with 60 lbs of steel.
The man was very rude and unprofessional maybe if I was a man I would have got respect but I don’t recommend this place what so ever better places to go
Worst place to go to 100% do not recommend, the man wasn't wearing a mask first off. I also called to make sure on the price on rims and to see if it was okay with tires on the rims and was told yes by the women on the phone. I get there and the man is giving me a different price telling me I couldnt have the tire on. He was very unprofessional and rude . They obviously aren't on the same page with each other.
Had exactly 20 lbs of aluminum and received a whopping $7. This is NOT the price for aluminum scrap, nor the website quoted/displayed price. These people WILL rip you off if you don’t say anything.
Tuened in 18 lbs of cans for only $7 the U.S. price per lbs is .70 cents is what it said online mot sure if its right but gonna try somewhere else nxt time
My boyfriend took a lot of scrap he worked hard to collect only to get $20 dollars. The copper is paying good right now and they ripped him off! We are never going back there again.
im from t or c newmexico and I brought all my scrap to usa can and got twice as much for it than I would have in t or c. the employees were very nice too.
