These folks are amazing! We have always dealt with Mike and he is honest and reputable. His recommendations and service are fantastic. Today Mitch took care of us and he was incredible. They service my vehicle, my wife's and my daughter's. I strongly recommend them.

Went to Gelormini with an air conditioner issue. I had a feeling it was a relay or resistor. I dropped my car off and they called me back with a quote for $500. This was for parts and labor. I asked the what the issue was and it was the Air Conditioner motor resistor. Mike told me he was able to get the part aftermarket for around $200 (a savings for me not going OEM) with the rest of the price coming from labor. It took a minute of google searching to find the exact part on amazon for $20. I told him I would take my car back. I paid for an hour of service to diagnose the issue. By the next day my amazon package arrived and I replaced the resistor in about 5-10 minutes. Two screws held it in place right from the passenger foot well. I understand diagnostics but $200 for a $20 part and ANOTHER $150 for the labor of putting back the resistor!? This is the definition of a rip off.

Showed up at 7:30AM for a car inspection. (Made an appointment the week beforehand). The shop is already rocking and rolling, multiple people there. No wait time, car was ready to go within an hour. Great example of great customer service. Open on time, super friendly, quick service. Will certainly be back.

It was a nice experience at Gelormini auto repair shop. It was my first time there. My son recommended them to me. He lives in the area. Then I looked up the reviews on the shop, the reviews are 5stars across-the-board.

Mike and his crew have taken excellent care of all my cars over the past 20+ years. Mike is honest, an expert in all things automotive and professional, in addition to being a nice person. If, during a lube and oil job, Mike notices something that needs to be done, I know I can trust him 100% and give him green light. The work performed in his shop is always topnotch and the price fair. I'd be remiss not to mention Becky, who is "manning" the office on most days. She is personable, knowledgeable, efficient, and a delight to interact with. I cannot say enough things about Gelormini's! I recently bought out the lease on my vehicle and had always taken it to the dealership to be serviced while I was still under my lease since most basic maintenance services were included in my monthly payment. When I called the dealership to quote out the most recent services that I needed, they quoted almost $450. I decided right there and then I was going to seek some other costs out from more independent shops, and Gelormini's immediately came to mind. Why? in 2016 I took my old 2002 Chevy Cavalier to have an emissions check done since I was having some issues with my gas cap not sealing properly. Not long after dropping my car off, they called me to advise me that the frame of my car was nearly rusted out and they were very worried about my safety driving it! As soon as I came in to pick my car up they walked me through the issues, showing me photos so that I knew what the exact issues were. I was so touched that they were so concerned about me, and they even went as far as recommending local dealerships to work with to get a new vehicle. When I called to get a quote not only was Becky kind and friendly on the phone, but she gave me a rough estimate of the costs and they were FAR cheaper than the dealership, almost $150 less! Between the past great experience and the cost, I was sold and booked my appointment. Becky was wonderful when I dropped my car off, and Mike even remembered my old car when asked if I had been to their shop before and said I had but it had been a long time ago! The friendliness of the staff is wonderful here - they treat you like a person, almost a family member - not like another appointment in the book like I've experienced at the former dealership. I am sold on being a Gelormini's customer as long as I live in the area and as long as they are open!

I've had nothing but great experience working with Mike and his shop. I have complete confidence that he will do right by us, and is totally honest with his customers. Mike always answers the phone and is friendly and takes the time to explain the situation. I think that he stands out from any other repair shop I've been to in a major way, he will do what is in the best financial interest of his customers, and not do expensive work unless he feels it's necessary. He does not push the customer to work that doesn't make financial sense even if it would make him more money. For example, I just brought my car in for what seemed like what could be a major brake issue. He could easily have told me I needed new brakes for a lot of money, and I would have went along with it. Instead he said the breaks were rusted, they cleaned them out, and to come down and drive the car around on highway to see if that fixed the problem. It turns out that it did, and he did not charge me a dime! This is just one example, not an isolated incident. I also remember taking my car there around the holidays, and he specifically said that he didn't want me to spend money unnecessarily around the holidays which I thought was really unique and thoughtful. Bar none the best in the area. Simple advice, if you have problems with your car, take it to Gelormini's if you want to work with good, honest people who happen to be great mechanics as well!

I bought a used mini and wanted a mechanic to give it a once-over to ensure nothing major was wrong with it. Mike took the car for just a couple of hours and called me to let me know what he’d found. I felt completely confident in his evaluation and he was very patient in explaining the type of work that he could and could not perform in the future, given the make and model. This is a business that is looking to build long term relationships, save money for its customers, and make them feel confident that their wheels are in safe hands. I would 100% recommend their services to a friend.

He has helped my family for many years. By a very wide margin the best and most honest mechanic I've worked with. His services are always reasonably priced and he will never try to upsell/rip you off. Also gives advice and expertise when asked. All of his staff are also extremely friendly. Customer for life. Cannot recommend enough.

I rarely post reviews unless service was extraordinary, and so I hope this speaks to consumers when I say that this shop and Mike are genuinely great mechanics and provide quality customer service. As a female, you just really hope that shops don’t take advantage of you regardless of your gender, and I felt very assured that I wasn’t when I came in as a first time customer. I have my other car scheduled to be checked out by these folks. If you’re looking for a legit mechanic, come to these guys!

I have used Gelormini's many times over the last several years and have nothing but positive things to say about this shop. Mike and staff are extremely knowledgeable, trustworthy and provide excellent customer service (explaining repairs, suggesting products, etc). They have also been VERY accommodating/flexible with their schedule - which has helped us out of many tricky situations. I feel very lucky to have Gelormini's in New Providence - I have finally found a garage I totally trust.

I moved to town recently and Gelorminis was recommended to me. I couldn't be happier with their staff. Mike is always friendly and helpful. They take the time to discuss problems. Unbelievably great service & good people! After my car broke down off I-78, we found Mike & shop through google reviews. Mike went above + beyond to investigate the breakdown, coordinate the next steps of what was needed & allowed me a warm place to stay on an 11 degree day. It’s not very often that you come across such genuine people as those at Gelormini.

Fantastic Experience!!! Usually, I do most of the work on my car myself but I got a problem with my car that I didn't feel like diagnosing. I called several shops in the area and this was the only one that answered the phone. I talked to Mike and he said he'll take a look at it. Next day I got a call from Mike and he said that I should replace the alternator and thought if I could do my brakes I shouldn't have a problem with replacing it myself. I asked him what I owe him and he said don't worry about it. So I took his advice and now my car is back on the road. I have never heard of a mechanic saying this is the problem and I'd be better off doing it myself. What integrity! And to not charge me for his time?! Unheard of! Mike, when my clutch goes out, I know I can trust you with my car!

I've been living in New Providence since 2003. In that time, I have used most of the auto repair places in town...and, have no complaints about any of them. However, I have nothing but high praise for Gelormini. In a nutshell, this is a true, neighborhood auto repair shop. They'll listen to you, do a proper diagnosis...then give you all of your options. They never try to push work on you that doesn't need to be done right then. After you decide on the scope of work, its done with great skill and expertise...for the price that was quoted. Gelormini also extends themselves for their clients, when something unexpected comes up; and, last-minute work is required. The people are terrific, its clean & tidy (for an auto place), and they live up to the expectations they set with their customers. I'm 60, and have been to a LOT of mechanics (my dad was a master-mechanic). These days, I won't take my car anywhere else than Gelormini.

Ten years ago I found Gelormini through word of mouth. Now I recommend them to all my friends. It is a small town auto repair shop...Mike knows my name and my cars. I have had cars towed there, tires sent there, Mike has guided us when we were buying used cars for my teens...I can go on. Great service. I usually drop my car off the night before and pick up at my convenience the following day or night. Highly recommend.

Mike Gelormini is honest and trustworthy. He does the work you agree to correctly, and he does not try to sell you services you do not need. My experience with some of the dealers in the area is you cannot walk away for less than $1,000 - they always find "something" else in need of repair. If Mike says you need the service, you can trust him. And his prices are fair. Good guy, nice to deal with hard-working, honest, local businessman.

Sometimes when you are in dire straights you encounter a remarkable experience. We were recently driving back to Pennsylvania from Newark Airport and during a severe storm and ended up having blown out two tires and other damage. Never having been to this area of New Jersey and being stranded was distressing. After spending the night in town we were referred to Mr. Gelormini's automotive shop. Immediately we were made to feel comfortable and were put at ease. His kind and knowledgeable demeanor instilled confidence that we were going to be treated honestly and professionally. He generously allowed us to put our luggage in his office while he searched for the right tire. We had the opportunity to spend some time talking with him and learned of the history of his business and the area that he serves. Once all the repairs were done he provided transportation back to the car and checked that everything was in working order. This would be my third positive experience with Mike and his shop. The first time I had a flat tire, and he was the closest shop i could get to. He plugged my tire on the spot and gave me a great deal. I actually didn't have my wallet with me and Mike even let me go said to come back whenever to pay for the work. The second time was due to another flat tire, he couldn't find anything wrong with the tire and suggested that ice and an open tire valve stem could have been the problem. He didn't charge me at all for this since there wasn't any work to be done. Recently, I've had an overheating problem with the car. It's generally difficult to figure out what the exact problem is without getting into it and what decisions I should make, but Mike was able to lay out all the options, next steps, and provide examples from his years of experience. His consultative approach helped me make the best possible decision (which is typically hard to get from other mechanics). I highly recommend Gelormini Auto Repair.
