These people are absolute thieves. They tow your car without disclosing the location. It’s Sunday and they’re closed yet they towed the vehicle? They ask for cash? To pickpocket the money for themselves? Shady business and shady workers. Definitely something illegal going on but don’t be surprised when a PI starts investigating.
Raineri’s Towing towed my car at 4 AM for supposedly blocking a driveway — a spot where I’ve parked before and only ever received a ticket. I understand towing laws can be strict, but what happened next is what truly pushed this experience into nightmare territory.
When I got my car back, the tire pressure sensor went off immediately. Turns out, I had a flat tire — and not a slow leak, a full flat. I called to report this, and the receptionist was incredibly rude and dismissive. Her response? “How do you know you didn’t pick up a nail on the way back?” and “We are not responsible for what the vehicle picks up on the way.” Except I told her — the warning went off as soon as I turned the ignition on in their lot. No accountability, no empathy, and definitely no offer to make it right.
To make matters worse, this isn’t an isolated incident. Raineri’s has a reputation for towing aggressively and treating people with little to no respect. A quick search shows I’m not the first person to experience shady behavior or vehicle damage.
I ended up losing $200 to fix the tire, got slapped with a $55 ticket, and was treated with complete disrespect. I’m demanding to be reimbursed for the tire at the very least. If you're reading this and considering using their services — or worse, relying on them in any official capacity — think twice.
Had my car towed everything was stolen out of it! Just for a few blocks I got ripped off with the price. How about the city allowing this to go on. Ripping off people. Shame on Passaic
this place deserves negative stars. very unprofessional and terrible attitudes. they are literal thieves, DO NOT GIVE THEM UR MONEY. many items were missing from the vehicle. they should not be in business what so ever, as you can see from all these terrible reviews.
This company is as shady as they come. I've gotten towed by them multiple times for parking on a street that allows street parking. No notice from the police station or tow company, have to deal with going to the police station and then the towing company and the towing company is stringent in the way they accept payment. They charge over 300 dollars just to get the car back and it's a 2 minute drive from the towing company. Didn't receive a ticket on my car, just instantly towed away, it's gotten to the point where I don't even think that my car is stolen and instantly I know it's this towing company that handled it. Never do business with them unless you want to get ripped off.
Predatory towing service, and they don't report tows to the police so you have no idea if it's stolen until you call. They also only accept cash payments or debit.
If you were towed by this company, chances are your rights as a consumer were violated. Please look up the NJ Consumer Affairs Towing Guidelines and file a complaint.
This company is in violation of multiple points of the amended Predatory Towing Prevention Act that became effective in New Jersey on April 15, 2009 in regards to signage requirements for commercial properties.
The following are their violations:
- Company shall not refuse the following forms of payment: charge card, insurance company check, credit card, charge card, personal check. Raineri’s Towing forces all fees to be paid via cash or debit.
- Not providing a detailed invoice for the towing, storage fees.
- Not complying with the towing signage requirements on commercial properties. The following must be visible on the company’s sign:
NJ consumer affairs division’s phone number must be clearly printed on the sign.
The address of the lot where the vehicle can be retrieved from after payment (not the office information) must be printed on the sign.
The towing and storage fees must be printed on the sign. (The fees printed on Raineri’s Towing signs have incorrect fees)
If you have been towed by this company, we highly encourage you to search the guidelines online and file a complaint with the NJ division of consumer affairs if the above apply to your situation. We are also considering a class action lawsuit.
They mistakenly towed my car but made me pay to pick it up anyway. A few items were stolen from inside my vehicle, one of which was a very expensive pair of sunglasses. They also broke my window and door frame will try to break into my car in order to tow it. Very shady people who probably should be investigated by the Department of Consumer Affairs.

My Car was illegally towed since a sheriff arrested Me over "illegal substance" but it did not involve my car being taken by this Company to Park it in a place I did not give them permission to put it.... I didnt even get to speak with the driver since it wouldve taken a while for this company to arrive since I was located in Garrett mountain and well they are in Passaic which was too far from Home...
Short words My car was stolen from Me... 3 months later I'm still waiting for My court date to sue these people for the time I could've been make Alot of money according to my plans of work which involved the USE of MY Car and ontop of that My Car is getting DAMAGED due to the rain and harsh weather.
We all should know what Towing means by now.
I went here for auto inspection on 9-12 & they were unable to read emissions. Drove it many miles & returned on 9-25 & still no reading. Returned today & I passed inspection. Thanks to Oscar Bonilla, their mechanic, for great service. NJ DMV has not improved since reopening, and I appreciate private inspection.
To me, it is worth the money instead of the long wait. And I was treated very well.
Also, Sandy, their "Jill of All Trades" , runs the office with great ease. She is so very nice and treated me like a friend.
I recommend them for Auto Inspection.
If i can give no stars , i would ! This place wont tow for the building i live in and refuse . What are they paying them for then ? They will say theyre sending someone down , when they dont . A car will be parked in my spot all night , what a waste of a company ! Dont recommend at ALL !
They towed my car on Thursday and I call the next morning to find out where my car was because they were close already so the thing is that they don’t even bother answering any of my questions they just tell me to bring $300 so I could get my car back, and when I got there they send me to three different places and guess what, I couldn’t get my car that day and the next day they close at 12, so I went back at Monday and the same thing happened, this ppl have the worst customer service ever, they made it so hard for you to get your own car back.
Rainer s towing towed my Oldsmobile.three blocks .The charge was 800.00 hundred dollars .Also they broke my window .Broke the lock on the trunk stole everything out of the car .Big rip off
Aside from the regular complaints, which are all valid, I went to get my car from the lot , and found that they pack the cars in like sardines so I had to waste an additional 15 minutes for them to tow the cars which were blocking me in....sick
i seriously want anybody who has the power to put a stop to this people ripping off their own people in the same town they live in.

i live literally 2 blocks away from where my car was towed, so my from house to their impound is literally 2 blocks i have proof they charging me 250 dollars plus 35 dollars a day is this serious...
just because they have a contract with the passaic police department don’t give then the right to over charge people this ridiculous amount of money...

Lack of customer service and rip offs. There isn’t a pricing list anywhere listed the woman made up a price and had the audacity to charge me two days and only had my car for 25 hours. Rip offs!!!
I think they have a racket with some local business, I parked in a local business parking lot with plenty of parking spaces and within ten minutes of stepping away from my car and without warning from the business about parking restriction, I got towed by this Rainier's at a cost of $185 to get my car back, sounds like someone is getting some kickback here.
So yes I would say their a little shady.....Stay away and don't do any business with them
Very dishonest people. They will lie and tack on charges that don't apply. They towed my vehicle less than two miles and charged me just shy of 400. I'm currently reaching out to state and local government agencies to investigate this company.
It is by far the worst place to ever get any service from. These people are thieves and are way too over priced. The only reason they are still open is because they have a contract with the city police department which lets them charge a ridiculous amount of money for towing my car to the mechanic which was only 2 blocks away
$239 for taking my van to the end of the street. Van was impounded from willett st in passaic and towed to delaware ave in passaic. I walked that distance in 3 minutes. Can't argue with them, I hope this review makes you guys think twice.
Baddddddd just a bunch of opportunists that choose and pick to make the most of every situation to tow a car specially if you dont have a police shield in your windshield,why they don't tow anybody from State st where people park in double parking in rush hour in from of the Hemanos bakery in Passaic
